There's so much life coming back to Rocky Mount! So many opportunities for the community to connect. Truly love living here. Still feels like the best parts of my childhood but with a lot more potential. 🙏🏽

North Carolina is such a great state. I hope Rocky Mount makes a full comeback soon.

I went to N.C. Wesleyan on Rt 301 right outside R. Mt., in the early 60's, (before 95 was build around the town). Met, then married a girl from Rocky Mount upon graduation. In those days, the town was relatively safe, Main Street was a booming area, and it was a nice place to live. Unfortunately, crime is now out of sight, and Main Street, (both sides of the tracks), is a ghost town.
I don't regret my leaving, but I wish the town the best.

I moved to rocky mount bc my job moved here. This video missed a lot of nice areas. It’s not great for young ppl, not much to do, no work here unless you work for the state but I love my home and rocky mount ppl are generally nice.

You're not wrong, but this is specifically a hood tour to show rougher spots of cities.

Yes! Rocky Mount really has great vibes. Have you visited Larema Coffee shop or Kafe Louverture in Downtown yet?

@@VibeRockyMount true, and Corning is right across the road from where they are going to build that.. tbr it’s more manufacturing jobs in this area than a lot of areas in the state. That’s why I don’t understand why ppl say ain’t no jobs around here lol

I live in Rocky Mount and ran the streets since a teen. In 94 I was fighting different neighborhoods. I was raised in Hazelwood and you didn't come there if we didn't let you. I went anywhere I wanted though. It was when we had fathers in the household. Then the crack came and destroyed everything. I didn't sell it but I would beat up crackheads and take their money. Police didn't come to our neighborhood only jump out boys who like to act bad. That came to a stop. It wasn't as much shooting but it was happening. We protected our neighborhood. The young boys are lost due to no fathers and music trends. I've watched generations go by and many of my friends are gone. The factory jobs left and many fathers turned to alcoholics and drugged up. I been in the worst places and seen a lot. You actually didn't ride anywhere just in circles on branch, Clark, Arlington, pender and Church St. It's way more than that. You showed where the crime use to be. I walked the streets and survived without a gun. It's violence but you just have to focus on working. The youth are just lost. I don't hurt them because I know how racist designed them to kill each other or go to prison. Police are crooked and I let them know not to keep bothering me. Don't ride around anymore unless you live here.
