As a resident of North Carolina, most homes here are cheap. We purchased our 6 bedroom home built in 2014 a couple of years ago at only 297k and now after all of the renovations and upgrades we’ve added it’s now estimated at just under 400k. Our home and neighborhood is similar looking to these homes. It’s fairly inexpensive to live here, however it also depends on where you’re located. I prefer living in a much more rural smaller city, having lived in Chicago and Phoenix AZ for many years, I’m not too fond of big city living anymore.

I drove through a few towns in Pennsylvania and Delaware. They look very similar to the towns in the video., quiet and serene. I love them. I even drove around few times just to take more GoPro video. 😀
The video looks like it was taken in the evening when everyone is inside having dinner with their families. I live in a similar neighborhood and there are always people out and about on the street during the day with kids running between yards playing. But around 6pm people are either inside or in their back yard having dinner.
@woodsie315 I also live in a similar neighborhood in Toronto, Canada. The truth is that the population density is too low for pedestrian enjoyment. My European mother calls Toronto "the biggest village in the world." Little does she know, Toronto is among the largest and densest cities in Canada and North America.
Could also have to do with weather conditions. Summers here in NC and the southern states in general can be BRUTAL. Extreme heat and humidity, so nobody is outside unless they’re swimming or beating the heat out on the water somehow.

I am currently living in Turkey. And I am very unhappy with the current situation because there are economic problems in my country. i've always wanted to go to America since I can remember. the people, buildings, schools and more there have attracted my attention a lot. i am 15 years old and I am studying at the maritime high school. my biggest dream is to study at the university in America and settle in America. i hope I can realize this dream. i am studying in the 10th grade and I have 2 years. i should evaluate these 2 years well. even though I'm looking at America from afar right now, I feel like I'm there
You can do it if you study religiously. We, in the Baha'i Community of Charlotte, North Carolina have a Turkish representative who works in helping people do many things. Later.
Hi! You're the first NC resident I've seen comment and was wondering if you'd mind sharing more about the summer, is it brutal due to heat, humidity, both? I'm considering a move but am only used to dry heat areas. Thanks in advance if you're able to reply!
@@taylorl.7115 hello there! I’ve lived all over the country including AZ (lived there 11 years) and the heat here in NC during the summer months can be brutal mainly due to the humidity. I miss the dry heat sometimes, but I also missed having actual seasons lol, so it’s kind of a give and take 🤷🏽♀️😂. Arizona summers are brutal as well, but when it’s dryer it isn’t as bad in my opinion. Temperature wise it doesn’t really get as hot, however with the humidity it feels much warmer because it gets so sticky and sweaty. Winters are not bad though, gets colder than most of AZ, however it doesn’t snow much where we are but maybe once or twice and it melts within a day or two. Up north in the mountains it’s a different story though lol, but same goes for up north in AZ temps are milder there in the summer, but it gets COLD and snowy in the winter months.
@@taylorl.7115 in short, the temperatures here really depend on what part of the state you live in. Up north temperatures can be considerably cooler than further south.
To all the people in the comments that think it’s a negative that there are no shops or people, this is how these people (like me) want to live. If you seek entertainment or restaurants or nightlife or the beach you drive to it at your convenience. Then, when you have had enough of it , you don’t wait for a train or bus, you get in your car and get away from it at your convenience. I don’t want to look out of my window and see groups of people gathering around. If you like that then you go live in the cities.. these are the ‘burbs …… peace and quiet
And I guess you are not ecologist, because this is the most inefficient way of buildig a city, making everyone drive much more that they should need, consuming more fuel.
If you live in the US but you don't have the money to buy a big house with a big backyard and pay the fuel you need just to move, the suburbs aren't beautiful and peaceful for you.
@@churrascodupao6410 Well, I never had a conversation with an Ecologist before. So we should bring the millions of people from the suburbs and make them live in already overcrowded cities which would make the price of housing skyrocket. Well I’m sure you’ll figure it out at work tomorrow. By the way , no one “makes” someone drive to their house. They want to drive and get away from the city. These houses in this video were not built because they couldn’t afford to live in the city.
I wish the streets in Germany would be so empty. Here you must allways drive Slalom. And when you look outside a window the few is cars parking on the streets
All the comments seem to fail to mention that a place like this isn't liveable unless you can afford an expensive car to bring you somewhere where it isn't just endless bland looking houses
The downtown areas are seperate from these housing areas...you have to drive to the stores etc. Ppl are not outside because its about 100 degrees outside...they have central air conditioning and indoor game areas etc. In the Early evening, they may go in their back yard pools etc...and bbq 🇺🇸
What always questioned me is the fact that in such suburbs there is no one around, it's empty, almost liminal looking, i feel like these houses are just empty shells, people either never leave or are always absent but i know it's not like that. I live in europe so it's a lot different. Always wanted to visit USA.
pretty typical for an American suburb, theres nothing really out of the ordinary. You aren't going to see a lot of people because there simply isn't a lot of people in the first place, not to mention everything is larger and more spread out and everything is zoned away from each other which is another reason why you probably won't see anyone walking about. People are very likely just in their houses, at work, or kids at school, not to mention these houses have backyards.
@@blackhole9961 Yeah right, i'm not used to that, it's very clean and looks really wealthy also the huge houses, very pretty, dream to live there, it's literally perfect.
@@eyerolling This is a slightly nicer than average middle-class suburb. What Europeans don't seem to get is the backyards are probably 5 times the size of the front yard and often back up to a greenbelt/park that is owned by the neighborhood. It's considered somewhat gauche to do loud activities in your front yard, that's reserved for the back.
I wouldn’t mind living in a neighborhood like that. But at some point I would need to hear people outside talking and socializing or I would go crazy. I’m from nyc and as soon as I walk out of my house, I hear busy streets and transportation for as long as I’m out.
I moved several times in my life, but I ended up living in a residential neighborhood, third world but residential... and hearing absolutely nothing at night, hearing little during the day, not seeing anyone walking, may not happen. a car for hours is really overwhelming for me, we are sociable beings.
Are there stores and small businesses in this neighbourhood? It is really bad that people have to rely on their cars constantly. What happens when they break down?
Neighborhoods don't usually have stores. Its just homes. Some areas may have stores or shops nearby. As for cars breaking down, you take it to a mechanic... Not quite sure what's so different about that.

¡Sí, el otoño con sus hojas coloridas y la navidad con luces y decoraciones son realmente hermosos! 🍂🎄
My parents live in this type neighborhood. It is not rich, it is middle class. The rich ones, the houses are bigger, more uniquely designed, and more spread out, and they leave more trees and woodland up on property. Those nicer ones are probably places for doctors and local executives.
Can you please help me to come there
@@FlorenceAnane-fp7rc It's really not that exiting there. Lot of space, you have to drive everywhere. Kind of boring actually. You are probably happier where you live.

Well it depends where you live now. If you live in some terrible ghetto somewhere in the world, then maybe I agree. But if you live in an ordinary, let's say, lower middle class place, somewhere in the world, you will probably be happier where you live. Because you already have all your friends and family there. And you fit into the culture. You will probably not be used to the American way, where we don't have as much city life.
It's a very wonderful place I must admit
Queensland Australia has suburbs like this. I actually live in an area just like you are driving through and with roundabouts.
We do but you'll be paying 2m+ in surburbs that look like this. North Carolina you'll be paying less than half that.

It’s very difficult to stay in these places we barely see people there outside. but places are beautiful.

Looks just like my neighborhood here in NC! North Carolina is a beautiful state, however the summers are BRUTAL 🥵🔥
Tell me about it! When I do these walks for an hour while carrying camera gear I’m beat afterwards!
Up north temperatures can be considerably cooler than further south.
what a beautiful neighborhood. These homes look pretty big.
Am from the UK but would love to visit The US one day🙏
To all the people in the comments that think it’s a negative that there are no shops or people, this is how these people (like me) want to live.
He cities you are talking about can't be built in the USA because of zonification laws and these places are very expensive to live.
Sorry if I'm being rude but this things shouldn't be ignored.
The lack of sidewalks sometimes is disturbing
All the comments seem to fail to mention that a place like this isn't liveable unless you can afford an expensive car to bring you somewhere where it isn't just endless bland looking houses

The downtown areas are seperate from these housing areas...you have to drive to the stores etc. Ppl are not outside because its about 100 degrees outside...they have central air conditioning and indoor game areas etc. In the Early evening, they may go in their back yard pools etc...and bbq 🇺🇸
Its my life goal to build my home in place like this ,thanks for the video, its really inspiring and calming... hope for more like this
What always questioned me is the fact that in such suburbs there is no one around, it's empty, almost liminal looking, i feel like these houses are just empty shells, people either never leave or are always absent but i know it's not like that.
Its so peaceful, calm and very clean

Are there stores and small businesses in this neighbourhood? It is really bad that people have to rely on their cars constantly. What happens when they break down?
Neighborhoods don't usually have stores. Its just homes. Some areas may have stores or shops nearby. As for cars breaking down, you take it to a mechanic... Not quite sure what's so different about that.
