Jeremiah Love is special, averaging almost 8 yards per carry, and he’s not just all speed-he’s running smart. He’s patient, drops his pad level, breaks tackles, and hits that burst where defenders are left flatfooted. Jadarian Price is right there with him, making the backfield exciting to watch.
The backup OL is massive-Spindler, Coogan, Abshar, Lambert, and Baker are all 320+ pounds. Given the depth and experience they're gaining, losing two starters may not hurt as much.
As for the WRs, I think they’re solid but not yet great. Evans, though, has the potential to elevate to greatness. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the offence open up this week-Northern Illinois was too soon for that kind of breakout.
On defence, ND has some real excitement with players like KVA, Urlacher, Young, and Traore. Just wish we had a bit more punch on the interior. And what’s going on with the punter? Feels like something’s a bit off there.

Mailbag question: I know it is time to move on, but I still have one lingering question from the northern Illinois game. There were reports about the unusual practice schedule the week before the game, including two very physical practices. Is it possible that the team just had heavy legs for the NIU game? They just looked tired out there across the board to me.

QB should def be last lol Riley Leonard ran the ball great against Purdue but so did the running backs. It's not the RBs couldn't run against Purdue so the Leonard had to step up. Leonard basically went down an avenue that was already paved from the RB group.
If the QBs are really 2nd to last then its because of Angeli

A quarterback that can throw.
When there is poor QB play, the pass catcher moral goes down. It's unfortunate but it's 100% true. Pass catchers get frustrated and there motivation drops, it's just how it is. I've been involved in athletics for nearly 20 years.
another way to look at Riley and the ND offense Coach Saban did a little white board lesson last weekend where he showed the evolution from the old wishbone and todays RPO and RPO hybrid offenses . Oklahoma Bama Nebraska won national championships with QBs who would throw worse than Riley leonard . BUT defenses get truly stressed when the QB can read and run like Riley L . Yes I would love some type of vertical game to augment his running . But if he can run and its effective then thats good enough. Our two wins didn t create a demand for Angeli . I think a healthy riley will show how he helps our O line and puts defensive lines on their heels when he can threaten the run. My point is yes we want better and more vertical passing , BUT if we have Elite RBs like LOve and Price and Leonard, its a long tough day for defenses and will support a young line and now a line with second stringers at center and guard. They were back ups for a reason. Againts good teams last year coogan and spindler got hammered . love the show TY
