Sunday nights July winter in NZ. Lights off to see the black and white tv. Fire burning. The whole family sitting under various blankets watching the show. I was about 12. That music. I used to think Janet and Dr Cameron were so old. They were 15 years younger than I am now... Crazy.
Recently I watched old Corrie (first episodes) and realised that even Ena Sharples had no wrinkles. Must have been their styles which were aging. Aged just 6 when that started and very happy memories of this series ..now my daughter works at a docs 😊
That signature tune & landscape scene meant another great episode - ieeee, that's right Dr Finlay - JANET! Get my slippers - Och Doctor Cameron give the woman a chance why don't you.
This series Dr Finlays casebook and all creatures great and small when the bbc were making awesome series You always felt better when you saw this tv series 📺📺📺📺📺
Wonderful episode of this delightful tv series! I love the storytelling, especially the last-tale - about the little brown Hen. Could it be that this was the origin of the Dr. Seuss story of Gertrude McFuzz?! Thank-You!
37:50 - that has to be the worst pep talk ever. Thank you for posting this very unusual episode of Finlay. I wonder if I watched this at 8 years old that Christmas day, but I'm certainly glad to see it now.
This gem has taken me back to my childhood. Watching it on Sunday evenings with my grandmother. Wholesome family stories. Thank you.
much obliged, Charlie..I was home (Yorkshire) from college, in London, when this was first shown...a mere 56 years ago!

I can't wait until the next one. Awesomeness ! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Ah that theme tune brings the memories rolling back.
Wonderful! Humility is worth it's weight in Gold, and something that is lacking in todays world. The character of Janet, had it.
Please upload all seasons episodes- utterly satisfying

Barbara Mullen just shines.
Brilliant! Thank you
Broadcast on December 25th 1966.
Would there have been a broadcast from a children's hospital earlier on Christmas day in 1966?
And that about sums it up for women’s equality....
This episode reminds me of
"The Story Lady" with Jessica Tandy.
Wonderful! Thank you!
Thank you.
lovely story from Janet (Barbara Mullen)
I wish somebody would revive this series and use the same theme tune
Those paper chains must be as old as paper itself.
My grandfather uncle was the actual doctor who was cast for the part as doctor finlay 😂😢❤❤❤❤

TOO QUIET.
Yes, it was, I wonder if it can be re-done. Also, I didn't catch what Cameron was upset about. Anyone?

Snoddy disrupted Cameron's soliloquy. Or 35:00. His housekeeper outshone him at the children's party.
@@robertdesantis6205 Thanks. I kinda got that Janet outshone him. Maybe I'll watch again.
@@cassandraseven3478The only thing that obscured this for me was the incessant YT ads.
@@BroonParker When I watched it there were no ads. I hate ads.
