@@blookamo that has nothing to do with chief Keef lol chief Keef had no other choice to put out home made videos just like other rappers coming up. Old head mentality always trying to put someone else under another person’s name
hey but u can't say that $B didn't do their part, even though they are kind of low-key in terms of the rap game. and people who say that the 2016 xxl were the ones to do it, they don't know their history is all. but yeah SESH.
Not just that, he’s one of the pioneers of the VHS music videos next to others like Bones and Black Kray, that’s why people like Kanye caught up and videos like Famous and Fade look the way they do
SGP inspired people to make Memphis Lo-Fi, he pioneered succeeding sub-genres like Vaporwave and Sigilkore, but he didn't really start the "Phonk" sound, DJ Smokey deserves more credit for that...which, to be fair, is more influential than all three in today's current music cultural...tiktok "Drift Phonk" sounds more like Smokey than it does Purrp
You should look into ZeroCashValue. He has been mixing undergeound southern style rap with black metal for a while now and it's starting to catch on. He calls it phonk metal and plays instruments on most tracks I think. He has other styles under his name but he was the first to mix black metal and phonk. Since he first started mixing genres many people have done their own takes on it and gotten millions on it without ever crediting mans as a pioneer in that
so basically cloud rap is the overarching (origin) genre of subgenres like rage and emo rap which mostly came forth out of alternative approaches to cloud rap right
It is funny that a lot of people do not know Lil B can actually rap legitimately, he just likes being experimental. Listen to Exhibit Bases or Death of Rap. They are genuinely well written and tjey flow well.
the era between Cloud Rap and Emo Rap is so interesting to me...people stopped making Cloud Rap for three years in the mid 2010's...artists like Mackned, Key Nyata, and Yung Bruh were keeping it relevant during the THRAXXHOUSE era...it wasn't the new cool thing to do anymore like in the early 2010's along with Witch-House and Vaporwave...2015 was peak Vine-dance, Meme single, Atlanta "autotune trap" so rapping songs about weed vapes and fiji water over spacey atmospheric production seemed played out...and intriguingly enough, dozens of artists came out in the late-2010's, using the same style of production but instead of rapping they were trying to sing "Emo" melodies
i believe that it was mostly just f1lthy who made the rage sound as rage is just a really evolved tread sound. you can trace alot of rage stuff back to 2015-2016 f1lthy x black kray songs.
Bro how did you not talk about Fetty Wap…imo he is the real pioneer of mixing singing and rapping or at least first one to make it mainstream and open the door for other melodic artist that came shortly after him, such as uzi, pnb rock, ect.too bad he had label problems and and ended kinda of falling off everyones radar. Dude is super talented and still puts out music.
Maaaan shout out to Cartier’GOD #ÕçëånGång , Metro Zu / C.$.P.G, Yung God, Yung gleesh, Agoff, P2thegoldmask, Raider Klan, Awful Records, Tread sound (was really rage first but mainstream jacked that shit). I left out so many but I named what people forget about.
By trying to make something that sounds completely out of the ordinary and lowkey terrible at first, but slowly craft it into good music of its own flavor. It’s as uncertain and embarrassing as you may think, but it’s required for rap today. Not so much for all other genres
its very hard but the current underground wave is mainly inspired by bladee, yabujin and of course carti. xaviersobased and his whole 1c group, shed theory, whc, swmg, bleood etc. Start by listenig to a lot of music and then just make whatever and if you get lucky youll slowly carve your own sound. its important to understand that if it is actually a new sound, people will HATE it at first. I think yabujin is a good example of how sounds evolve slowly, he blew up at the end of his "evolution" (he seemingly quit), but if you go through his entire discography you can see the very very slow process that turned into that weird new sound. It also becomes obvious how he was actually influenced by memphis too, something you wont even think of at all if you listen to him without context. again, just venture out, research the weird genres of the world, go through a war metal and atmoblack/dsbm phase, whatever. just dont forget to actually be making music in the meanwhile, theory only gets you so far as they say.
just gotta be creative and original and it might catch on, look at xaviersobased hes one that started the new jerk wave and it’s completely different than what hiphops been for years

What other rappers played a huge part in pioneering modern hip-hop?
Chief Keef
SpaceGhostPurpp
& Bones easily
bones crazy underrated, i used to listen to a lot of the emo rap guys but never heard of bones .. might need to make an entire video on him
Weiland, with out Weiland there was no Yeat, Summrs, Autumn and many more
Lil b was the first rapper to go out and shoot music videos from his camera that payed the way for others rappers like chief keef

fr bones got songs from way back that made corny white boys careers in years since
@@piglet4756 fuck that whole white or black shit, there’s hella fire artists, white and black, from his era that made fire.
why is nobody talking about Black Kray, clearly nobody knows what they're talking about,he started it even before bones did it,
BONES was actually on bladee's first album ''gluee'' in 2014 on the song shadowface
Every sesh and dg fan knows that
I would say black kray's hydrocodone + working on dying's thread beats also had a hand at creating rage beats
That’s why Five Finger Posses Morgue dissed the rage sub-genre b/c it was basically tread first before mainstream jacked the sound.
Cloud rap is the best genre ever
I think it’s important to note Gab3, he was making edm x pop punk rap 10 years back when he was Uzi with Mik3
