I think it’s a bit better to go to the store to try things on for H&M because of all the confusing sizing! But I’ve found really good mom jeans there that actually fit my hips :))
I used to LIVE for H&M. Growing up poor, it seemed like such a cool, chic store to me. My mom and dad would play at casinos and win vouchers to shop at various stores. In my closet currently is a green and grey striped shirt with cuffed sleeves. I got it in a small when I was about 115 pounds and it still fits me today when I'm a medium to large at 150 lbs. That shirt is about to turn 10 years old. For H&M being such a crap brand now, I dont know what is in this shirt but it has not torn or had any holes. The Divided line by H&M used to be my jam. Great vid!
My go-tos at H&M (in the before-times) are business casual basics (blazers, blouses, interesting tops/dresses - though I don't think I've ever bought any bottoms because I do have hippy bois). I'd say my style is sorta a mix between sophisticated/chic/greyscale, and dark academia/adventuring (earth tones and yellow). I love how unisex a lot of their stuff is, how beautiful their stores are (before times), and how everything is organized. It's pretty much one of the only brick&mortar stores back home that sells more formal/business stuff for an affordable level for students. Also, big thanks to you and alex and co for teaching me to just get the size that fits. I used to "push myself" to fit into the smallest size I could possibly fit bc of society (tm), but now I just go for what I think will fit best (which, for a lot of brands, means sizing up once or twice bc of different body types and wanting a slightly looser fit). Yay for functional body positivity!!
Well, you see, in the early 2000s, you weren't allowed to have a butt, so butt-flattening jeans were all the rage. So they're actually very accurate to the era--minus the high-waist. 😂 On that note, please never leave me, high-waisted fashion! 🥺 I wasn't overly in love with Fashion Nova, but maybe I just had expectations that were too high, because I know a lot of other hippy girls who love them. Maybe it's because I was in my Levi's stiff denim era, and FN is thinner, stretchy denim. Right now I'm in my sweatpants era.
Lucy, queen, please please please can you make a video about how you find jeans??Or how you tailor/make pants fit? I have the exact same body type/shape and never find anything that fits me:( love u & ur content!xoxo
It’s so weird. H&M used to be like really really good and now I just don’t love it. That pink pleated skirt I might have to snatch up. Also if you wear like a black or white camisole under the checkered dress I think it could be work appropriate. Also when you said white dress i was shook, I thought you bought it because it was pastel yellow lmao.
That dress wasn't white even in the video (especially next to the white shirt and the white trim around the doors behind you!). It was kinda cute, but probably would have been better if it was indeed white.
Girl!! The Dangerfield wide leg jeans are SPECTACULAR!! I've got 2 pairs of the Elena in spring jeans and they are actually wide at the thighs too! (Coming from someone who is a size 10 at the waist and 14 on the thighs, I order a size 10 from Dangerfield)
@@LucyLivinYT IT MIGHT NOT BE ELENA IN SPRING AHH! I ordered a second pair on sale because I love them so much and whilst they looks the exact same, the new pair (same size) is way smaller and doesn't fit!! Not sure what's happened :((
I only iron things when I need to go somewhere, and that is only for like cotton shirts. Black trousers? Eh, wrinkly is fine. Also I iron my seams when I sew, cause it just works better that way.
I have a similar body type to you and JEANS ARE SO HARD TO FIND! However, I found one pair of jeans that fit perfectly from a Swedish brand called Fit Jeans. From one hippy lady to another. I got the “Mom” jeans in a size small!
I haven't bought H&M bottoms in~ 10 years. They look great, and then they stretch out and Bag, they are just bad. Lol I'd love to see you try FashionNova! I watch another wonderful human that's had a BBL. She buys from them and they definitely cater to your body type. I think it would be fun for you to try !!
I really feel like tops get made of thinner and thinner material at H&M. I got some nice items there recently, but they were only affordable cause on sale. A pair of kasmere shorts, a woolen tanktop, some linnen t-shirts. The shirts are so sheer tho!
H&M seems to be falling off. I think there are so many options for better/cheaper trendy clothes, especially with online shopping, that they aren't really keeping up. It's shein quality but twice as expensive.
I can't find the pink pleated skirt online 🥲 also I can't stand h&m jeans, if I want them to fit I have to go one or two sizes up and take in the waist. H&M denim is not worth all the effort haha
Lucy, have you never encountered the wonder that is curvy jeans? They're meant for people with hips. Are there none on choose-your-thrifting-site-here?
Do you mean the curve lines from jean brands like the Levi's curve ID (?) They used to have them here but they were discontinued long ago 😤 they may have some online but I'm nervous to buy jeans I haven't tried on online without a return policy 🥲

Their sizing sucks but their quality is actually decent, like I get a lot from them second hand and it’s lasted a long time on top of that

I am also in my sweatpants era 💀🥲

I second this notion, please please please Lucy 😭😭😭
I loved the black and white gingham dress on you.

I'm also resigned to pants never fitting 😔I got a pack of button pins and that helps to tighten the waist a bit on pants that fit my hips
I haven't tried that trick yet! 👀 Maybe I'll give it a go hehe
Yes please do the Fashion Nova on a side note the white dress is NOT white standing next to the white blouse really makes it obvious 😉
As a human pear myself, I understand the struggle.

Thank you for validating me :,)
ooo we stan a queen who supports another queeen! I love Mina 2!!🥰🥰🥰

Brb peeping their website immediately 👀💕

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I'm going to check them out 🥰💕
For the white shirt, tighten the elastic at the waist
I lost it at "HASHTAG FFFFFF" because I too am that particular in my life about things of all kinds lmao

Honestly my fave piece of the pink skirt! Looked really good! ❤️ Sadly it's not available in Canada 😅
FIRST! btw love you!!!
Aww thank you 🥺💗 Hope you enjoy 💕
I agree with you on the ironing, it should be abolished 😂 I only iron if it's my husbands business shirts, which thankfully he doesn't wear too often
Coming from regional Australia, and living in regional Japan, H&M is just something from TV and movies. ...Like most brand stores. Ha.
Cute puff sleeve short top n pink skirt

Try fashion nova! I've never been upset at their clothing.

Can really tell how ivory that terry dress is in comparison to the white puff sleeve top!
the validation is so sweet 🥰
What size is the lovely Yesstyle dress from the beginning? p.s. loving the pink hair :)
Cute pink plead skirt

Cute purple button up top
I'm so confused. Why did youtube unsub you on my acc cuz I literally did not.

@@LucyLivinYT Oh no! I'm so sorry, they're all over the States. I'd wish you were here, but that would be mean of me.
i once tried on 4 skirts at HM and the 3 in size 14 were too small and the one in size 12 was fine. make it make sense lol
Legitimately have had that exact experience 💀
Not vibing with the fast fashions braaaaaands
I have to admit that most of the items were boring. You still looked cute though
lmao thank you I'm glad we agree on both points 😅💖
