Thank you for sharing, this is a very informative video. I'm just curious about the academic results element of your video if you don't mind expanding on this part. For example, my leaving certificate results were above average but not stellar in any way (400 points). In my undergraduate LLB I got a mid 2.1 but in my LL.M I got a first class honours. My experience in law is that I have worked and am currently working for about 9 months in a very busy general practice law firm. I have some extra-curricular and voluntary experience also. However, do my academic results ultimately hinder my chance of getting a training contract if I wanted to apply to a big law firm? Would any other aspect of my CV or application form be considered and mitigate from the lack of stellar academic performance? I know this is a vague question as you cant see my CV and you don't know my experience. Thanks for reading my question and again, I appreciate the video.
Academic results are used as a marker of potential success. They can be mitigated by strong experience and other endeavours. That is why I tell people to focus on their performance in university as it will determine your potential to 'get in the door'.
Great video! Did you get a training contract before studying for fe1s or after you completed them? Would you mind doing a video discussing your timeline in law please
