I've watched this 2 or 3 times now over the last few months and to this day, it's still one of my favourite shooting videos. If you ever feel inclined to make another one like this (or even just one where we get to tag along while you guys shoot - no lessons necessary), that would be cool. It's the closest we get to joining you guys for a weekend shoot or that kind of thing. Thanks again for the great content. :)
That's amazing Sheldon, thanks for the feedback! I've been focusing on producing more instructional content recently, but if people enjoy this shooting vlog style of video then that's great feedback that we need to be doing more of that too!
@@RogueArcheryTV Please know that new instructional content is always highly anticipated and appreciated! But once in a while, just to change things up, the vlog content is always welcome. If for no other reason, it's because shooting archery is fun and talking about it with friends is fun and the vlog stuff lets us all get to do that with you and the Rogue archers, albeit vicariously. If teleportation were a thing, I'm sure lots of your viewers would love to join you guys on the shooting line to shoot for fun, if nothing else. But until that becomes a reality, this is as close as some of us can get. :)
@@SheldonGoh 💯% agree! If you're not having fun you're doing it wrong!!! We're always having fun at archery so this is a good reminder to pick up the camera more. If I go full tine with this then I'll definitely be putting more time into creating that type of content.
One of the best Olympic recurve channels here. I've learnt a lot from your videos. Please keep them coming and I'll do my best to share. Happy New year!
Hey at 12:00 you mentioned tight pecks. You should look into reciprocal inhibition. Reduce your pecks holding hands together while trying (with medium tension) trying to retract your rhomboids. This will clear your pecks electrical field. Great for cramps too.
Wish they had a range or even a club near me. Just picked up my first real bow a PSE NTX 31" HL, 60/70#'s. Always shooting by your self gets boaring quick, plus scared of missing my target and backboard. Yard is a risky, 50 yards max.
Would love to get involved with Olympic style Archery, shot very well in FSL AA fingers. Many 300's on NFAA 5 spot targets. Quit that 20 years ago, and took up Trad archery with a limb clicker, much harder vs compound. At 72, I would not be competing, but enjoying the sport with lower quality equipment. Great video of you 2. Any directives would be much appreciated..
Good on you Steve! In my view, Olympic recurve archery is all about the process - you have to enjoy the technical complexity and challenge of constantly working on your form. If you're an experienced archer you probably already know a lot about archery, but the you should always start by working on technique structure. Good luck!
Step 1: learn to release the now. Take the sling off and have a buddy catch the bow as it launches from your hand. Step 2: learn to catch the bow in the finger sling. Raise and pluck the string about 1" with no arrow. Learn how to catch the bow in the finger sling and roll the bow correctly. Step 3: put it all together! For best results, repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 several times until you can master it.
Hey Tom! Absolutely yes. PNF stretching can be done as an alternative to almost all static stretches, and is far more effective. Give it a go and let me know how it feels for you! You can also incorporate resistance bands to create dynamic stretches that offer a similar affect 👍
Good question. I have what's called a 'hypermobile' elbow joint on the bow arm, which often requires an extra degree of internal rotation. This is not uncommon (Watch closely a video of Chang Hye Jin). Does that answer your question?
@@windyblower1211 The degree of rotation is individual to the archer based on mobility through the shoulder capsule and also the degree of hypermobility. You shouldn't 'copy' any one archer, because there is not one cookie-cutter approach that is perfect for everyone, and some people have non-standard physiology. The point here isn't that Chang Hye Jin's technique is superior in every way and you should copy her, nor is it that you should copy me. The point is that if you pay attention to many skilled archers, you will find variations that are based on subtle differences in physiology. Hope this helps!

So awesome seeing Sarah kicking ass! Miss you!

Really enjoyed this one, keep up the good work.

Thanks for that, we actually incorporate this into our dynamic stretching routine using therabands for resistance in the antagonistic range!

How do you learn the art of letting the bow roll after release, I'm scared I'm going to drop the bow

Jarryd, do you think a person could do the PNF stretch on their own, standing in a doorway? Thanks for all your great archery videos.

Hey!
Maybe that’s a rather odd question… but what kind of a bow-stand does Sarah use at the beginning of the video?
Hello, what’s the countdown timing app that you’re using and it’s a free download 😊 keep your videos coming, it’s really informative! Love it
Hey mate!
The app is called 'Seconds Pro'. Its a few dollars, but worth it as it allows you to customize all of your timers.

Why does ur bow arm turn so much its facing downwards

Does that answer your question?
@@RogueArcheryTV thanks for the answer. I dont really see Chang Hye Jin turning her elbow down as much as you tho.

Cool!
Does UA-cams 'Closed Captions' work for you?
it works ... but there are only english subtitles

I got it to change to Indonesian through UA-cam. I hope this helps 💪🏹🎯🥇
