Good guide and good laugh, a friend of mine has your same laugh. I love how powerful the tubes are and I'm pretty sure I have the right spring in place (they were unmarked and I bought a 7kg spring as Walcom suggested for use in HvZ). My problems pretty much start and stop with the cycling of shells. I'm pretty sure my lift spring was too long when shipped to me, I did size it against your examples but was unable to really clarify it. mine had the two screw holes in it but even after bending the spring back as you showed it overshot the built in catch on the lift itself. I physically couldn't get the lift in place until I bent back the end of the spring. Also, my lift doesn't function well with the breach, either. The lift constantly falls out of place within the Firefly and is currently trapped inside the blaster and I am unable to re-seat it properly w/o taking the entire thing apart again. No matter what I definitely need and want help with this problem. I'm thinking I got a defectively long spring and the knobs on the side of my lift don't fully seat inside the holes provided so I'm thinking that my lift may also be defective (since it won't hold like yours was doing in the video). PS: I made sure to ram the barrel down as far as possible but shells are not extracting.

Hi I was wondering where I should put the 3m shock absorber. I put it together and took bracing the but of the gun against the ground to prime, is this normal?
Hi there EaterBiter, The 3M shock absorber padding is meant to be used in the plunger rod head of the Firefly. If the unit is already assembled, do clean the plunger rod head properly of any grease or oily surface. If the plunger rod head is still greasy/oily when the shock absorber is placed, the sticker of the shock absorber will be compromised and cannot hold properly. Regarding bracing the blaster onto the ground, It will be common if you are using the 12kg spring that is inside the box. We have included the 5kg spring in the set for those who cannot prime the tougher spring unit. Hope this helps! :)
Just received my firefly yesterday and completed it, except one of my o rings was stretched out more than the other. I got it assembled in gun but after a few shots it broke. I love the firefly and everything you guys do is there anyway you could give us o ring size as your replacements are sold out and am trying to find replacements here in North America. I finally was able to get the shell closed using hex screws for the torque needed. All are stripped out. I noticed a 3m shock absorber was not in the directions... Does it go on the front end of the pusher? There is no way I am going to get this thing open again....
Shouldn't be that difficult, you'll get the hang of it after a couple practice lol. The shock pads goes to the piston/plunger head. it wasn't in this video because it's not updated, sorry about that.

Okay, I'm gonna be honest here, the blaster itself looks beautiful, and, with the n-strike stock attachment, I could get a stock that fits me perfectly, and, I think it's design is super good, and, the way it loads is like a tactical shotgun, which, there are slug rounds, so, it's a proper shotgun too, I really wish I could buy one, but, I am unfortunately broke, but, when I have the money for it, I'll buy one, preferably with the 5kg spring, I want it to be a secondary in HvZ, and I'll have to buy your .50 caliber foam paintball rounds, and a scar barrel to make it hit reliably under 130 fps, with a box magazine adapter, but overall sir, I'm going to enjoy it when I can buy it
Just put mine together, seems good so far. Only thing is there wasn't instructions to put in the 3m shock absorber so I neglected to install it. Does it make a huge difference?
Ohh no you must apply the shock pad, it helps really a lot and also keep your plunger rod from breaking prematurely. The video is old and not updated, sorry :(
pretty please could i get into a video call with you or something? priming the blaster seems WAY TOO HARD and i think theres like an air seal issue because the plunger takes like 5 seconds to go forward and just doesnt fire

Is it possible to replace it with the 5kg spring after assembly? The product works as advertised, but I would rather not buy and assemble another one.
Absolutely no problem whatsoever to disassemble/reassemble again. I have did mine for countless time for various of testing purpose and there is absolutely no issue, provided that you use the right tools and technique. I'm not quite sure why there are still people saying the screw strips easily, if you use the correct screw size bit that should not be a problem. Don't blame the screws if you are using the incorrect tools and technique. The only thing that might not be so reversible is the barrel/mag tube that is glued/epoxied to the barrel breech adaptor. Otherwise, everything else can be disassembled down to bits for whatever reason.
@@monkeemods8393 thanks very much for the prompt reply. I did strip the screws connecting the priming handle to the breech. But that was definitely a result of the screwdriver I was using.
If the firefly has a built in m4 buffer tube for stock attachment instead of nerf nstrike attachment. It could utilize a longer and thinner spring that goes through to the end of m4 buffer tube so the prime could be lighter while maintaining high fps. It will also be much easier to find a suitable stock.
Hey, yes we have thought of that and it is part of our plan to further enhance the Firefly platform. We don't have yet a solution to that at the moment but either way it will involves with shell cutting or a further revision of the shell that will accommodate such config.
Hi there, yes you can change the spring of the blaster. You will have to open up the receiver shell to do so. Make sure to unscrew the priming bar at the receiver point. There is no need to disassemble the barrel & tube piece when trying to change the spring. Do make sure to do it inside a box to prevent the small springs and screws from flying about in your work area. This is especially important when placing in or removing the 12 kg spring. Hope this helps
Hi there, there is no need to completely disassemble the Firefly in order to place in the DD Tactical kit. You can loosen the front part of the Firefly Receiver shell to remove the barrel assembly to use the tactical kit. The only thing that needs to change is the threaded breech adapter and the Magazine cap of the firefly. If you wish to completely disassemble the blaster just to be safe, it is still doable. You can also re-lubricate the o-rings in the plunger tube as well. Do be careful of your magazine cap and mag tube spring when doing the Tactical Kit change. Hope this helps!
I just built mine and I’ve been having some issues and I think the lubricant I used is the issue. It was a spray thing, I lubricated everything he said, but it still feels rough. I think it’s either in the plunger tube, the back of the shell lifter, or both. Any tips before I try to take it apart and try to fix it?
I should mention, the roughness I’m talking about happen when the shell lifter is being pushed down (I think the spring is too strong) and the gun isn’t hitting as hard as I expected it to (I think that’s an issue in the plunger tube).
What you are experiencing is the norm. Due to the nature of the Firefly's design, each time you prime the blaster it does a few things: Pushing the plunger rod towards the catch + compressing the main spring, pushing the shell lifter downwards, activating the shell releaser to release a shell from the magazine tube to allow the shell to be seated on the shell lifter. When you push the pump grip forward, it does the same thing too, pushing the shell lifter upwards so that the bolt/breech can now load the shell into the chamber, and activating the shell releaser so no shell can be released from the mag tube when the shell lifter is upward right now. It only feels easier and less resistance because you are not fighting against the main spring now, lol. So yeah, it's something that is part of the design, but the more you use it the smoother the blaster will be once the parts that grind against each other are smoothed out.
Both will work, super glue if prepped properly will work better than multi purpose glue. What spring apart exactly? The main spring? Well...By diameter of the spring wire most of the time.

Yes you can try the all purpose glue first before a more permanent solution like the Epoxy. The UHU glue I used is a general all purpose glue and seems to work quite well for me. Remember to thoroughly clean the surface of the barrel/adaptor where the glue bonds them together.
No no, the leave in for few hours refers to the glue. This is so that the glue will have time to cure properly, and this is important because the magazine tube need to be fitted to the barrel adaptor as securely as possible.
Hey Carl why is my fire fly not shell ejecting all of a sudden? And the shell lifter is going up instead of down when I pull the pump and this just happened recently so please give me tips.
Yes you can use super glue or epoxy as mentioned in the video, just that these are more permanent (in fact recommended if you do plan to use it regularly as your primary) and excellent choices. It's just that you will not be able to reverse it in the event that you want to make some barrel/mag tube changes. So for example, you have your current default setup epoxied to the adaptor piece and now you want to upgrade to the longer barrel and magtube setup, you will have to purchase a new barrel/magtube adaptor. But that' is all. UHU Glue used in the video is the "All purpose" type of glue, meaning "jack of all trades, master of none" if you will, lol so it gets the job done, but not perfectly like super glue or even better, the epoxy.
@@monkeemods8393 Thank you so much for the detailed explanation and reassurance Looks like I'll going epoxy. Purchasing a new barrel/magtube adaptor is no problem. Plus I dont mind buying more stuff from you guys haha
The guide is completely our of date. You should really make a new one with the new screws, new threaded barrel and mag. I didn't know the main receiver screws were now different, so screwed in the wrong thing. Now they won't screw out as the screw stripped and the blaster is ruined.

Identify first why the follower does not slide freely within the mag tube. Check if the follower itself has burrs? If so lightly sand it. Check within the magazine tube, is there any irregularities?
Hi monkee mods my plunger rod has snapped during operation and I followed every direction in the video do you think you can send a free stronger replacement plunger rod?
Unfortunately the Firefly will not be able to fire any Nerf Rival rounds. There is no attachments/part that can convert the Firefly to shoot Rival rounds. The closest ammo type that the FIrefly can shoot to the Rival rounds is the 50cal round foam balls.
If you are not able to tap it in, you can use a pair of scissor or a blade to trim the "skirt" off a bit and try again. It should still fit tightly. In the case that it's loose, a dab of glue will do the job well.
Hi monkey mods mine is way to hard to prime could I hop on a video call I am not going to try to assemble this thing again until I know that I am doing it right. Maybe Carl is just really strong but where can I FaceTime you?

As cool as this blaster is, I am way too lazy to assemble it myself and I don't trust myself to assemble it properly lol but I would be willing to pay more to buy it pre-assembled if that ever does become an option. Either way this blaster looks great 👍
We do understand that part of the challenge of such hobby diy kit. But it is also quite unfortunate that we are not able to sell them pre-assembled. It is apparently very difficult to ship any blaster that are already built internationally. We are however, in the midst of planning a "Partially" assembled kit that can possibly makes owning the Firefly easier for many people.

Please contact us on FB messenger or email, we can help you out with that.
Is the blaster hard for you to prime?
That's very subjective sir. If you use a 12kg spring then yes it is going to be relatively hard and tiring to prime.
Is there an attachment of some sort for it to be able to shoot Nerf Rival Rounds (The yellow balls) ? If so how could I get it ? Thanks
Unfortunately the Firefly will not be able to fire any Nerf Rival rounds. There is no attachments/part that can convert the Firefly to shoot Rival rounds. The closest ammo type that the FIrefly can shoot to the Rival rounds is the 50cal round foam balls.
How come the o rings wouldn’t fit on mine. I’m literally in the first part struggling to put them on and they rip
Have you contacted us through email or facebook messenger to explain the situation? We can assist you better over there.
@@monkeemods8393
My uncle Carlos Embury has we got a whole replacement but the O ring ripped while I was trying to attach it
Did you change the hardware my unit didn't come with a catch plate
No it's suppose to come with a catch plate, please contact us and we can assist you better on email or the FB messenger.
Ok I have a question why do you have the follower a small design mine did not fit wha to I do?
If you are not able to tap it in, you can use a pair of scissor or a blade to trim the "skirt" off a bit and try again. It should still fit tightly. In the case that it's loose, a dab of glue will do the job well.
Where do I buy
Hi monkey mods mine is way to hard to prime could I hop on a video call I am not going to try to assemble this thing again until I know that I am doing it right. Maybe Carl is just really strong but where can I FaceTime you?
Hey, we will have a discord channel up very soon, maybe you can check things out with us then. For now if you need any technical assistance just PM us on our facebook messenger!
Hey my dad contacted you on messenger asking if there was a way to get cheaper shipping I am now asking here is there a way to get shipping down?
Last question is there a extended tube version for it or no?
Yes there is an extended barrel and magazine tube upgrade available for the Firefly.
@@monkeemods8393 hank you so much for your help I thought my questions would be pretty boring.
@@kimstar2960 not at all!
What are the dimensions of the box it comes in?
Hey Monkee Mods When Will The 50.cal Foam Balls Be Back In Stock?
They are on the way, no clear estimation but probably 2-3 weeks time.
My kit is missing the breech barrel adapter
Have you contacted us on Email or FB messenger? We can sort this out for you sir.
Is monkee mods a safe store? Is it safe to buy online from this store? And why don't they come already assembled like all other weapons do?
Somehow mine didnt come with shell lifter?
You guys didnt have any business emails so i comments on this video
We do have email and also FB messenger for aftersales, have you tried contacting us there?
You are singaporean yes? Cuz i am and im planning on getting a firefly and was wondering if you deliver to SG as i was worried that SG customs will not allow it to be delivered here.
Update:
I have already made an order for the firefly and there didn’t seem to be any problem so I am excited for my present
No sir we are from Malaysia lol
@@monkeemods8393 I have never expected to see sir and lol in a sentence
Ur website is broken every time I try it says 404 not found
Thank you, just built mine.
How do you assemble the tactical kit?
Assembly guide for the DD tactical Firefly kit will be available very soon next week, please stand by.
@@monkeemods8393 That's unfortunate but I understand. Partially assembled would be cool
@@monkeemods8393 when are you planning to ship the partially assembled kit?
I don't recomend purchasing. I put models together regularly like the terrible wpl c24, that's model is actually possible to assemble without destroying the screws
you could probably find someone that would do it for you
what is the fps on the 5 kilo and 12 kilo spring?
5KG is about 70-80FPS, and the 12KG will do 200+
Make sure you apply glue and lube before screwing the frames together. You won't be able to open it back up, stripped screws. You'll see
No please don't use glue to seal the shells lol. If you don't use the correct screw driver size and incorrect technique, it's not the screw's fault :/
@@monkeemods8393 I've been using screw drivers for over 25 years, I used the same screw drivers I used to build the computers I have in the past. When you have to create threads, send pointed screws. Common sense is not common anymore is it
@@monkeemods8393 also learn how to read. No one mentioned glueing shells.
The screws strip out to get them in. I am no fool. Even switched to hex screws for more torque getting them in and those even strip.
Mine just showed up buy from them took 5 days
I’ve assembled mine, but it has several issues. I’m not sure if i did something wrong or if the parts were messed up, but it’s very upsetting
Please hit us up on our FB messenger and we can help you the best we can to get your Firefly running like it should.
i snapped my damn lift spring
still got it to work
What is the fps on it
Impossible to put those screws in. Everything else is super easy....
carl bless up
Not very friendly for 12kg😑, and I think the diameter of inner wall can be slightly bigger for more power, protruding buckle can be a little longer, screw engraving can be deeper and maybe consider to give some glue or oil
This blaster should come with toast because it jams so often
I replied via Instagram as I don't have facebook
This is absolutely atrocious! Had I known the assembly was so terrible I would have never waisted the money. Needing to use flat ended aluminum screws to thread this plastic ruins the screws and plastic.
wasted my data
You are welcome :D
This Blaster Kit has been an absolute ordeal to deal with
It has given me problems at every single turn nearly and between barely being able to understand you, you not properly showing steps and my Metal Brace being noticeably not the same piece in the video has left me almost hating this Blaster.
I'm using the exact screws stated and my Metal Brace for the Handle absolutely will not properly screw in.
This NEEDS a better slow step by step or a pictoral step by step assembly guide.
I have yet to get mine properly assembled because of how poor the guides are.
I"m starting to be on the side of people here. A pre built option needs to be a thing it seems
We are sorry you are having so much trouble with the Firefly. We will try our best to assist you in assembling it. Please contact us via FB Messenger, we can assist you in detail (Pictures that can help you in certain assembly step).
outdated
What is your email? You guys don’t even have Facebook messenger!???
Also do you use silicone lube for silicon parts only?
Use silicon based lub/grease for the O-rings seal.
What type of glue do you use?
Glue is no longer needed if you are talking about fixing the barrel to the barrel adapter since the latest firefly is now updated to the threaded barrel and adapter
