As the crowd narrowed in on you, for a while I thought I was watching a stage of the Tour up the Tourmalet with all of the TDF traditions, call outs, signs and even an appearance from the devil with trident! Never be worried about what time you get, or how you perform, just ride the bike and enjoy it. The only competition is yourself! I get the feelings though, i was a 70kg cat 2 racing cyclist and now im 90kgs and ride for fun, my ego takes a hit every time i get dropped, over taken, or struggle, but im still riding and enjoying it and thats all that matters to me now :) Keep up the good work.
I actually got quite emotional watching that and thinking what you have achieved since you started cycling and how you give everything your all. Also hearing all those people shouting your name. Seriously, so so pleased for you. Of all the bad things in the world and cruelty (not least to animals etc that you mentioned) you are the opposite of all that, a lovely girl, with a big heart, doing the best you can in life. And finally, you totally smashed that climb. Loved this vid Amy. Thanks for posting and keep doing what you do and being you.

Well done Amy ; not many people ride both the 24 Hour & Hillclimb championships in the same year . Surely Cyclocross has got to be your next challenge and I notice that your club Derby Mercury is hosting an event later this month so seems like a perfect opportunity !
@@amy.cycling.adventures I may be biased but cyclocross is the best and most fun of any cycling discipline ; I just wished I'd tried it sooner. Markeaton is a great venue to start your CX career although, on current form, you'll probably just go straight to the National Champs in January!
That looks like one heck of a challenging ride! Though I had to laugh every time you rode over a painted “SLOW” warning on the pavement haha. Man up at the top, the amount of shouting and encouragement put the biggest of smiles on my face. That must have felt awesome!
