I agree 100% about Ken Burns baseball, some of the innings you'd think baseball was only played in new york, plus billy crystal is an overrated cornball.
Absolutely. Connie Mack and the A’s did not get anywhere near enough attention, especially that 1920-31 team. The dramatic change in Phillies management in the 1940s, and how that changed the baseball culture of Philadelphia - ignored. No mention of the Baker Bowl, which has such a rich history in and of itself. But that episode on the 1950s, you’d think there were only 3 teams in the whole league!
These hitters have to hit the ball away from the shift and it will force defenses to play honest. One of the reasons Richie Ashburn is a Hall of Famer because he could hit the ball to every field.
I would support his Hall of Fame induction, not based on his play, but based on everything he has done for baseball, from years of coaching to his broadcasting. It all adds up to one incredible career in baseball.
@@PhiladelphiaBaseballHistory Agreed and his numbers are actually not too bad. Loved watching a guy like him get so much out of what talent he did have.
Like 2B, this is no contest. Rollins was a lot better than Bowa. My dad used to call Bowa 'the stiff' when watching phillies games because he only got his hits when nobody was on base.
I loved that 93 team too. And the 09 team also. Winning pennants is nothing to sneeze at
Agreed both J-Roll and Bowa deserve HOF consideration.

Bowa is a baseball machine LOL

I agree. It’s a joke. Baseball has been decimated by money
