- Update April 2024: Again the views for this video have gone vertical, up to several hundred per day which is just crazy numbers considering I don't promote my stuff at all. Again, THANK YOU for listening, whoever and wherever you are! Regards, Jeff
Update November 2023: From completely out of nowhere, this cover version from 2018 started getting an insane amount of plays in early October 2023. Insane for a small time UA-camr at least. Anyway, something like this has NEVER happened before. Whoever you are, wherever you're from and for whatever reason you've listened to and shared my lo-fi mime video: THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
This one is from early 2018 I think. Lucretia is one of my favourite Megadeth songs to play on the guitar so trying to do it acoustically was an interesting challenge. When I finished it I thought it was pretty mediocre but uploaded it anyway. Now, on this 3rd go around it's been incredibly well received for which I am very grateful.
Disclaimer: UA-cam has unilaterally decided to occasionally show ads before my videos even though 1) my channel isn't monetized or even eligible for monetization and 2) these cover versions have not been flagged for copyright which means songwriters and/or publishers don't make any money from the ads either. I strongly disapprove even though UA-cam and Google have every right to do this.
This deserves way more views
Hey thanks so much for taking the time to listen to comment!
Gotta thank the algorithm for showing me this video and also for not allowing it to get forgotten amongst all other videos, great work man, loved it.
Thanks @davihz3527, the algorithm has been good to this video lately :) But seriously, thanks so much for listening and for taking the time to write such a nice comment. It means a lot.
I really like the slowed tempo, gives a whole different vibe apart from the acoustic sound, great job!
@Cesegat thanks so much!!! Finding the right tempo was key because the vocal line is so busy and the intro riff very intricate. I actually played it as fast as I could while still keeping things as smooth as possible 😅
Funny though, others have said it works better at 1,5 speed 😊
Congratulations, exceptional version! Thanks for showing again what musical masterminds Mustaine, Friedman, Ellefson and Menza are. You can take a Megadeth song and slow it down into an acoustic version like yours, and it still sounds mind blowing.
Thanks @radupopescu2370 and 100 % agreed on the collective genius of the Rust in Peace -era lineup. Megadeth were on fire in 1990 :)
MEGADETH rules. LUCRETIA did a top cover from MEGADAVE, the boss. 🤘🤘☠☠🤘🤘
Cheers! 😀 🤘🏼🙏🏼🤘🏼
I cant believe i actually understand the lyrics of this song lol... Never really pay attention of megadeth lyrics unless i google them, english is my 2nd languange so Dave Mustaine almost always give me the hardest time to understand what actually he's been saying (love him tho).. Great cover!!!!!
Thanks for your thoughtful comment Anjel 😊 I know what you mean about trying to understand what Dave is singing (English is my 2nd language too). I had no idea what Lucretia was about until I looked at the lyrics for this cover version 😅
It's criminal how this only has 10k views.
Thanks for listening @hokral7915. I think 10k is huge, and I find it amazing that so many people have discovered this five year old video in the last 6 months or so 😊
I was looking for a cover like this because I was so sure it would sound good, and I was not disappointed! This is amazing
Ok I wrote this comment before I'd heard the solo and now it's even better hahaha
Cheers! And many thanks for taking the time to listen and comment, much appreciated!
That's amazing. Excellent job, one of the best lucretia covers I've ever heard. Kudos sir. Well played.
Thanks Joshua, appreciate you taking the time to listen 😊
Really great cover man. A nice mellow version of the song.

I always absolutely loved this song and melody and this is just.... phenomenal
Thank you! I almost didn’t release this one originally. I was sure Megadeth fans would hate it, but I gotta admit it turned out pretty good.

@@JeffVicario I really do, man. As a relatively new guitarist this is very inspirational for me. I’ll drop you a sub and check out your other stuff :)
How dare you ?!?!
That's fucking great 😁
Hey thanks for listening!!!!
Megadeth the lift music collection
😀 yeah, it’s a bit muzak, no doubt. But yeah, the basic idea behind all my cover versions has always been to highlight the song underneath the sometimes super aggressive delivery.
@@JeffVicario Great job , you’re really talented
Such a creative cover. Kudos to you man, brilliantly done.
Thank you so much for listening and your kind words 🤩🤩🤩

Well, six months ago it had like 2k so it’s been doing great lately 😁 Anyway; thank you for listening!
This is so good!!! I've never thought this song could sound so good on acoustic. Great Job!

Wow 🤩
Hey thanks for watching! :)
Pretty cool Man🔥
Thanks for listening!
Man that was dope but I wanted to see both guitars or at least the solo guitar
Thanks. Unfortunately I didn't have the gear or software to make a more professional looking video. As for the solos in the song, I simply can't play them :)
Holy shit
BRO İTS SO GOOD
Thanks for listening, much appreciated :)
Awesome rendition! Btw, playing at 1.5 speed seems almost at the normal speed.
Thanks! I hadn't noticed that, pretty cool :) I think someone else commented on a different video that it sounded better at 1,5 speed.
Soooo coool bro...Do more Megadeth
Thanks! I'd love to do Hangar 18 if I could find the time. It' been three years since I last did a cover version.
I'll be waiting!
cheers from Indonesia 🤘👍
Hey thanks for listening!!!
Noice
Cheers 😀
aviadaram o megadeth
I don't know what that means but obrigado!
That’s exactly how Martin Friedman envisioned it and how Kiko would execute it, if he was provided the freedom to do so.
Thanks for listening! That makes perfect sense to me :)
I’ve tried to get into classical guitar playing but it’s just so boring to me. I know this is a cover of a totally different genre but why don’t they play stuff like this? I’d love to hear some recommendations of newer classical guitar playing that is innovative. Please share.
Well, I’m sure there are lots of classical guitar players out there, breaking new ground. I don’t actually know all that much about it though, I do my own thing and rarely listen to classical gtr players. Thomas Zwijsen and Ben Woods are great (they’re proper guitar players, not amateur hacks like me 😊), they’ve done loads of metal covers.
how do you play the hammer on part in the intro
Do you mean the two hammer ons from fret 6->7 on the A and D strings? @StelarMilk I don't remember doing any others, but it's been like 6 years since I recorded this version so could be I don't quite remember :)
Megalounge
Yes, exactly! Thanks for checking it out!
Jazz version
🙏🏼 😊
Doesn't quite work for me swung but great playing and cool arrangment for sure!
Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I was very unsure of the more jazzy rhythm when I did the cover. I figured Megadeth fans would absolutely hate it but turns out they've been cool about it. Even when they've disliked the idea :)
@@JeffVicario upon second listen, I can dig it! I think the original straight thrash rhythm is so ingrained in my mind. I think we should be challenged to hear in a new way.
@HabAnagarek Totally understand what you’re saying! When I first saw Megadeth live in 2007 they had Shawn Drover on drums and his feel was so different that I had a hard time listening to Rust In Peace -era songs. Because Nick Menza’s playing is so hardcoded into my memory.
Thanks for giving my version a second chance 😊
Where can i Get tabs?
Well, I don't have any for this particular version. But it is pretty closely based on the original, so if you check it out on Songsterr or somewhere similar, you should be able to play it. You just have to make a slight adjustment because the rhythm is different in my version.
@@JeffVicario i just dont know how to add a baseline..
Ah, ok I think I know what you mean. My version has several overdubs: the intro has two guitars playing the riff, panned left and right. Then there's an extra guitar playing the bassline and a fourth guitar playing a third harmony to the bassline. So you'd need at least three guitars to cover every part :)
Dude, tabs! Gotta learn it
Wish I had time to make them...but thanks for listening!
Better play to >>>1.25
Thank you for listening.
Sounds like an Opeth track
Entirely correct! Opeth was a huge influence on my acoustic covers. Thanks for listening and for your insightful comment!
