The redhead kid was in a number of kids' movies in this era. Great reaction! It's so fun to watch a baseball fan watch it for the first time because non-fans miss a lot of the nuances. "You're killing me, Smalls" and "For...e...ver" are probably the two biggest phrases that came out of this movie, but among fans you'll hear them a ton in real life.
I was a blackjack dealer ar a casino for many years. I wish I had a dollar for everytime a player would be getting a run of bad cards, and look at me and say, "You're killing me, Smalls!" From all different generations too, proving what a big deal this film is for so many, incorporated into the culture like that!
Saw this in theaters & instantly fell in love with this movie. Although it's not a baseball movie I would love seeing you react to Little Giants it's a football movie.
I almost never have anything interesting to say, so just in case no one has told you recently, you're awesome! I love watching your videos, you're hilarious!
An iconic one that I also didn't discover until later in life after hearing people quote "You're killing me Smalls!" for years 😅 The 90's were a great time for young comedies. Little Giants (1994), with Rick Moranis, is another one with a sports theme, and Heavyweights, with Ben Stiller, (1995) is more camp based.
I saw this in 1996 in a church van on the way to Colorado. I thought this was one of the best sports movies I had ever seen. Great memories watching this movie with great friends.
After watching Stand By Me, I knew this would be another winner of a movie for you to react to. I actually prefer it to Stand By Me, but that's because of the memories I have about the people I watched it with and the time in my life when I discovered it. I was a kid in the '70s so it is set a bit before my time. Regardless, it is still very relatable to my generation. I wasn't a "town kid", I grew up in rural Iowa like yourself. But I was definitely as awkward as the narrator (Scott Smalls) and just about as athletic as he is his first day on the Sandlot. There is something about small town life that fosters nostalgia.
I'm giving this a like before I even watch the reaction. Such a great movie. I need to give it a rewatch myself. Classic from my childhood. You're killing me smalls.
I am such a huge baseball fan. While I do not like watching on television, I do love playing it and I do love watching it live. This was one of my favorite films as a kid. I watched it so much because of the story and the baseball. It is such a good story and the carnival scene will remain with me forever. I also like the way that the story is about a kid who has a difficult time fitting in and getting along with his stepdad, but learns how to do it through a common love of baseball.
I saw this on VHS not long after it came out, the 90's were a great time to have grown up. Tons of great films and music. Another good baseball film would be "The Natural," starring Robert Redford. Two of my favorite Robert Redford films are, Three Days of the Condor and Jeremiah Johnson.
I remember seeing this at the cinema when it came out, and I haven't seen it since. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. If you like baseball movies you should check out Bad News Bears (the original from the 1970s, not the remake).
Worked at an amusement park for years. Kids getting sick happens DAILY. Adults getting sick happens DAILY. The mess aside, we employees enjoyed it when they get sick. We got to close the ride for a while. Plus it took those cocky guys down a notch.
21:20 it´s kinda a simbol that he went crazy after seeing that, weird that nobody knows that since most of the hospital horror, comedy and all those type of movies kinda do that sometimes. Yeah they were friends, but that rescue was a GIANT adventure for them,Squints was badass and most of the story at the end was cute, except for one that i think he did great on something but no one saw him ever again.Great movie.
Yeah man, this is a great movie for sure! We just watched it with the grandkids this weekend. Theyre approx the same age as the characters so it was a huge hit. By the way, Wendy Peffercorn is played by Marlee Shelton. She was the pregnant cheerleader, Diane, in Sugar And Spice. Another really fun movie!
"You're killing me, Smalls. Ok, first you take the graham. You stick the chocolate...on the graham. Then you roast the 'mallow. And when the 'mallow's flamin', stick it on the chocolate. Then you stuff it. Kinda messy, but it's good. Try it."
They mentioned Lou Gehrig at the end. Gehrig is among the greatest players who ever lived. I suggest you watch The Pride of the Yankees. The movie is so old, the real Babe Ruth plays his own character. It's a must watch!!!
A part of me makes me think the different ways they were trying to get the ball back were different ideas being thrown around in their minds.. 1st idea is Squints 2nd idea is Repeat 3rd idea is Ham 4th idea is Smalls and 5th is Vinny then with Vinny being those most confident and logical, they finally went with his idea
Another great kids sports film is The Big Green, has the same redheaded guy a bit older and it's a soccer movie about a band of misfits small town class learning the sport, it's a fun movie and worth a watch
Another awesome choice of movie...I have a movie that I personally think is up there with Forrest Gump as far as movies that will change you...it's called..."I AM SAM" I think it stars Sean Penn it's one of the most life changing things I've ever seen..great reactions BTW!
Hi how are you James? I just wanted to let you know that your videos are really entertaining. I look forward to your reactions because I’ve watched movies all my life and it interests me to know how you feel or like these movies. Since you enjoyed the Sandlot, I have a couple of suggestions. They are both football movies and both based on true stories and real people. One is called Rudy, and the other is called Invincible. I won’t give anything else away about those movies, but they are very enjoyable and you get to learn a little about athletes from the past. I look forward to your reaction to one or both of these. Keep up the great reactions!
One of the best kids films I’ve ever seen. Perfect use of “kid logic.” And wildly politically incorrect. My Girl came out 2 years before and it was excellent. The early 90s were a great time for kids movies. This had the same parental rating as Frozen, the CG cartoon. Yeah, 90s kids were cool. Kids are learning nothing from movies today.
What do you mean you know James Earl Jones from Big Bang Theory?! You should know him from “Field of Dreams”!! That’s two baseball classics Jones has starred in.
It's funny they chose a mastiff to play Hercules. Mastiffs are bred to look and sound intimidating and aggressive but all the ones I've run into are big, slobbery softies.
I remember being in elementary school playing softball. For whatever reason, I wasn't paying attention, someone had batted the ball, and it hit me right on the right side of my face. That was pretty embarrassing.
NOTHING should EVER be spoiled for ANYONE!!!! I say... If someone spoils something for you.. you should consider blocking them!!Especially if you ask not to be spoiled.. and they do it anyways! It's just WRONG!!
@@AwesomeUSMovies Yeah.. It sucks.. but I guess it was just that one scene.. such a small part of the movie really! :) I just hate spoilers too! lol. Oh.. Btw.. Great reaction as always! Can't wait for the next set of movies!
I will never understand what makes people want to spoil stuff for other people. Even when people say things like, "If you like plot twists, you should watch such-n-such". It drives me crazy.
Love this movie! It's one of those movies that I love much more now than I did when I first saw it. Have you ever seen the movie The Babe, starring John Goodman? It is a wonderful movie! It got mixed reviews because it bothered more than a few that it wasn't historically accurate to specifics with Ruth's biography. But the director wasn't going for accuracy he _wanted_ to tell the story this way...it's the legend the director was going for. Anyway, I think it's a great movie! Best Regards!
I'm sure it's been suggested already (or you've already seen it) but baseball + Iowa + James Earl Jones = Field of Dreams. Also, if nobody has suggested it, you might like the original Bad News Bears with Walter Matthau.
BIG time classic!! 90s kids will never let the world forget about this one lol

We has a guy join our platoon whose last name was Small. Guess what phrase was consistently uttered when he screwed up.
