I wanted to say something you forgot war machine doesn’t have hidden detection
There is something I must say:
The mecha base price is so cheap because its currently using the medics stats, its currently not a finished tower. When the mecha base is actually available the devs said major changes would be made.c
If I were to guess, these are how the stats work.
- Mecha base still will cost 5k
- level 1 Mark I with rocket/faster time will cost 750.
- level 2 Mark II will cost 3k
- level 3 Mark III will cost 10k
- level 4 Mark IV will cost 24k and will have 35 range instead of 100
- level 5 Mark V will cost 35k and will have 45 range instead of 100.
- Total cost 77,750
- placement limit of 4 and will cost 3.5k gems
knowing paradoxum the gem cost might be above 5k if the engineer was like 4.5k
4 or 5 placement limit is likely

I really want them balance these 2 towers and release them for gems. Also fun fact mecha base uses medics icons and upgrade costs that's why it's so cheap

5:44 to put into perspective how broken this cost efficiency is, the best CE in the game is level 1 ace pilot. CE is measured by doing (dps)/(total cost), so lower is better. assuming it's constantly attacking, level 1 ace has a CE of around 59. other than ace, level 0 golden scout has the best CE, with it being around 120. now, level 3 war machine buffing 80 max golden minigunners has a CE of around 9.2 (7900/851)

I feel like war machine is better in modes like polluted wastelands 2, hardcore, or events because you can somewhat reasonably afford it. And even if commander is better, in multiplayer the 20% damage buff would be insane considering how many ranger, pursuit, accels, ect there will probably be on the map and it still does good damage; however, the price is still the biggest burden. Like you said, it's a pretty bad choice to bring it in solo or any regular game like fallen because it's just too expensive and a 10% damage buff just isnt needed or worth it as much.
So I feel like overall mecha base is still better considering its range and dps makes it do like 200+ dps throughout the entire map, 5k collison, and mid game breaking potential but war machine definitely has its moments.
you forgot how cheap the mecha base is. it's currently using medic's upgrade costs, but that would change in the future.

Give war machine a price decrease or stat buffs. I think they should buff the dps to like 340+ and give 25-35%dmg buff to nearby tower at max level.

Tbh war machine only needs an animation and it's good to go for public, mecha base on the other hand is op , it needs a health and damage nerf plus for each mecha base only one unit is allowed in the battlefield like mil base and the only compasate buff is that unlike others it stops moving entirely at a certain point and deals damage through the artillery it poses and it becomes a road block for the enemies
ngl they should make war machine have a giant gun like gold mini and have 2 rockets beside it
But the cost of the final upgrade should go down

What does war machine giving a damage buff have to do with killing enemies, its damage buff is already quite an asset. the max level ranger's damage can be increased by 90 from 450 to 540 and when boosted by the commander, its like a lot better for one ranger. And the damage buff on the accel is op too, the 20% boost only boosts it by a few damage but the accel fires super quick so that little damage buff will be significant
@@OscarZheng50 If we take the 55% CTA boost + 20% DMG boost of a Lvl.5 War Machine + the average DPS of a Lvl.5 Accelerator, we get a DPS of 555.56.
Here's the formula btw:
[(Highest Damage + Lowest Damage) ÷ 2 × (Burst Time/Tick)] ÷ (Charge-Up + Burst Time + Cooldown)
[(42 + 30) ÷ 2 × (12/0.0486)] ÷ (2 + 12 + 2)
@@yinghannong and 8 accels with coa will do 4,444.48 dps, still less than 36 golden minis with coa which do 5850
@@OscarZheng50 Ok, but what if you're playing on a map where you can't place 36 GMinis in an area? So I believe 8 max Accels would be better in this case. (I hate the new circle boxes)
@@yinghannong most maps can accommodate 36 golden minis, the maps are designed to be big enough to fit 80 towers if your playing squads and everyone places their max

War machine is like cowboy. Commander that can shoot continuously. You still better off using commander tho. But I guess you could make both commander and war machine stack. If they release War Machine to public, they HAVE to buff it

Yes! The damage buff for low damage towers does like nothing if it's like 1 damage it might not boost but if it's something like ranger it's extremely damage buff
War machine needs a price decrease and a placement limit of 2 because it’s only useful for the damage buff
Tbh war machine is pretty good tower for ranger at this moment (december 2023) the ranger has 1125 dmg at max lvl, war machine 20% dmg buff could add 225 dmg to the rangers dmg per shot.
Now that the mercenary base is here i think mercenary base is like war machine combined with mecha base

Farming mecha base while solo requires a good brain without a single mistake.
Place golden scouts for early defend
Place farm, upgrade lvl 1, place another farm, upgrade lvl 1, wait until your money reached 550, upgrade lvl2 2 farms, place 1 farm, upgrade to lvl 1 and 2, upgrade 3 farms to lvl 3, wait until you reached 5k and then you place mecha base.
That just means you need 400+ health😂

the War Machine would actually be somewhat balanced if released in modern TDS in my opinion
Imo mecha is better than war machine but not bc war machine is weak(imo it's quite balanced as it does a lot of dps plus it gives buffs) but bc mecha base is way to underpriced(like i think it should cost around war machine to max)

same, but it would definitely be more balanced
1st it has no placement limit stil it wil only be used for like big bosses that give allot of cash + itc na stack on commander buff sinc eit doe s20% more damage to all towers in range not firerate buff lets say smthing does 1 damage and has firerate of 1-55% is 0.45 firerate thats op but whe wil also add a 20% damage buff so 2.2 dps + 20% is a whopper 2.66 dps what wil be to op what i think is commandre wil get nerfed some time since its to op at the moment.

I made some maths, so let's get a tower that has 10 DMG per 0.1 seconds, 100 DPS
If we take comander's 55% firerate buff, then its firerate will be 0.045, which will have a 222 DPS !
But if we take war machine's damage buff (10%) it will have 110 DPS, or if we take 20% we will have 120 DPS
Comander is both cheaper, and stronger! So yeah, there you have it
But ranger gets 200 extra dmg a shot thats gota be better than commanders boost

There is issue with mecha base. And it's path unit tower which are pretty much worst tower type in tds. If it destroyed it no longer does dps. And gotta wait for whole minute which by that time many other towers would ended up doing more dps. It would been good tower in earlier version but it's current stats are outdated. Where we got 3 modes enemies gets high hp. Especially on Polluted Wasteland where mecha base health sustainability gets quickly non existent.
You can put 4 and by the time the mecha dies another spawned
