Completely subjective and impossible to answer. One reason I try not to do that here is because I don't want to rob someone of something that works better for them. The Huion is thinner like a tablet, the XP-Pen is closer to the Cintiq type classic build with the red dial. Both have express keys and similar pen experience. Hi, great video but my question is simply does it require a computer whilst drawing on the tablet. I know there is a computer required for driver install but does it need to be connected to a pc to use
Yes, you need a PC or laptop. You can use it with any software, it’s just a display. The pen is like a pen pressure mouse in a way. It’s just an input device.

Do I have to buy photoshop with this, or does it come with some pre downloaded apps? I'm completely new to digital art and use to watercolors/pencil, so I have no clue about what art tablets are suppose to have
Photoshop is additional. There are free digital art apps depending on what kind of art you do, gimp, Krita, sketchbook pro. Clip studio is very reasonably priced and goes on sale all the time too.
Hello! This is probably really late but do you recommend buying the Cintiq 16 or this one? I’m mostly drawing as a hobby right now so what do you recommend? I also don’t know which one works better with my computer. It’s kind of old (it’s a Mac mini).
When I draw, I tend to press down hard, so I turned the pressure sensitivity up so I don’t scratch the living hell out of my tablet. But when I draw, I feel like I’m scratching my tablet screen because of the scratching sounds, but my pen nib doesn’t look damaged. Is this an issue with me, the tablet screen, the tablet nib, or this just normal?
Do you know if the xp artist 12 pro work with apple, more specifically an apple mac mini m1? I'm starting digital art soon and am trying to find the best setup for my work.😅
So can I hold this on my lap? I've never had an art tablet, just an iPad, and I'm looking to upgrade, but I like to draw on my lap like with my knees up. Would that work?
Looks like just over $200 as it’s on sale at Amazon amzn.to/2PP19M3 it’s runs whatever apps are on your host computer. So if you have photoshop on your pc, it’s fine. Think of this like a display with a pen. It doesn’t care what apps are on the host computer.
does the tablet work in all 4 orientations? left/right landscape and up/down portrait? Is it as simple as changing the screen resolution settings in windows, or would it be something extra in the included driver software?

What's the screen size to be exact, i mean the working area, the height and width of the working area ?
11.6 I believe.
Do you have to have this hooked up to a laptop to use or can you use it by itself.
It needs a host computer, it cannot be used alone.
I just got mine for christmas but am not able to download the app. .... help pliiiiiiz
What app?
Does this work on a laptop chromebook?
i'm a beginner with drawing but i want to start with digital drawing so is this a good device for beginners?
I think it is, also check out my Huion 13 video. ua-cam.com/video/rgaqRLhct0A/v-deo.html
Create Now Sleep Later okay thank you!
Clip studio is very reasonably priced and goes on sale all the time too.
so it doesn't come with a display port?
It does not
Hello! This is probably really late but do you recommend buying the Cintiq 16 or this one? I’m mostly drawing as a hobby right now so what do you recommend? I also don’t know which one works better with my computer. It’s kind of old (it’s a Mac mini).
Does it have hdmi? It’s hard to say, that’s a big size difference. If you need the size, go for the 16”.
How do I connect the artist 12 pro to my apple laptop
You’ll need converters usb-c to usb-a. Then a usc -c to hdmi.
@@CreateNowSleepLater how do you do it i steps I’m kind of lost
Do you have to be hooked to a laptop or PC for this to work? And what kind of system? And does it have to be hooked up the entire time?
You do. It’s just a pen enabled display and will not work on its own.
When I draw, I tend to press down hard, so I turned the pressure sensitivity up so I don’t scratch the living hell out of my tablet. But when I draw, I feel like I’m scratching my tablet screen because of the scratching sounds, but my pen nib doesn’t look damaged. Is this an issue with me, the tablet screen, the tablet nib, or this just normal?
i heard they are more scratchy than wacoms
Sir, is this product is comfortable to use with hp i7 laptop for teaching plz reply
Comfortable how? To draw on? Use with the laptop? Should be fine.
Do you know if the xp artist 12 pro work with apple, more specifically an apple mac mini m1? I'm starting digital art soon and am trying to find the best setup for my work.😅
Best to check with xp-pen for such a new device but if the driver supports that OS, it should be fine.
So can I hold this on my lap? I've never had an art tablet, just an iPad, and I'm looking to upgrade, but I like to draw on my lap like with my knees up. Would that work?
I think so, it’s small enough.
Ok thank you!
What's the best software to use with the type of iPad?
This isn’t an iPad. This is a pen display. Are you looking for iPad info?
Why ours takes long time to upload? HOW this could be a sign of defective product?
Not sure what you mean, upload? You mean turn on?
I’m having trouble trying to connect the tablet to my old pc
What kind of trouble?
My pc doesn’t have an hdmi port so I brought VGA male adapter female HDMI
Hmmm, is that all you have is one vga port?
Yes will it work
What is the exact problem you’re having? I don’t think the tablet care about the adapter, it’s just converting a video signal. Maybe it’s the adapter?
Is there high-quality cheap one time pay software for this graphic tablet? Something like procreate for computer that is compatible for this?
Clip Studio Paint, it frequently goes on sale but you just missed the black friday sale. Medibang painter and krita are free and pretty popular.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Ok, thank you!
How much does it cost? Also you have to download an app to your laptop in order to draw?
Looks like just over $200 as it’s on sale at Amazon amzn.to/2PP19M3 it’s runs whatever apps are on your host computer. So if you have photoshop on your pc, it’s fine. Think of this like a display with a pen. It doesn’t care what apps are on the host computer.
@@CreateNowSleepLater thank you so so muchh🥰
does the tablet work in all 4 orientations? left/right landscape and up/down portrait? Is it as simple as changing the screen resolution settings in windows, or would it be something extra in the included driver software?
Left/Right for sure. Portrait? I’m not sure, I’d need to check. There might be a 90 degree option in the driver.
@@CreateNowSleepLater thanks for checking! I plan to use this as both a drawing tablet in landscape and scribbing notes in pdf editors in portrait.
I have this one and use it on an iMac, but there is something wrong with the drawing lines when I use Photoshop. It looks likes it shoots lines, it does not draw lines. Any suggestions?
Is this something new? I dont know MAC much but you want to clean those drivers out and start over. Is it just photoshop?
@@CreateNowSleepLater Yes, it worked perfectly, it's not only on Photoshop, I'v tried other programs. So it looks like it's the pen settings or something......
Or the driver is corrupted. I don’t know Mac but you can want to make sure you clear the driver out, reboot and then install from scratch.
3:54 what's that software?
Its the XP-Pen driver
Can someone help me? I use clip studio and red doesn’t show up anymore. It shows up from time to time but whenever I save my art and open it up again it’s either pink or purple. It’s connected to my Mac book pro 13in. Idk what to do 🥺
Just in clip studio?
Create Now Sleep Later I didn’t really use photoshop long enough to know but for clip studio red usually doesn’t show up, not on the color wheel or pallet even if I’ve used it before it doesn’t come back after saving. And i haven’t had read after I made a few more drawings after the one where I needed red but it wouldn’t come up
does it have a program built in or do i need something on top of what comes with it?
Art program?
@@CreateNowSleepLater i was looking to see if it had to use whats on the computer or if it had a native program built in? i saw comments later on saying it used whatever the pc did though? idk sorry
Hello, everyone. Is there any model of graph tab, with a battery incorporated?
Not dedicated, you would be looking at a mobile tablet or iPad.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Ok, thanks for the reply!
What are all the type of laptops that are good for this tablet? bc I have the table but it says I need a laptop that runs with pc
As long as your laptop has the right connections, USB, HDMI (or adapter) its fine. As long as it runs whatever software you use.
@@CreateNowSleepLater kk
Can the XP-Pen Pro 12 be used, without the computer, once everything is installed? And does it have to be plugged into power, or does it have a chargeable battery? Thanks!
It always needs a host computer. No chargeable battery either. You won’t find that in any pen display though.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Darn ok. Thanks! I bought it from Amazon, but haven't played with it. I guess my best bet is the ipad, with procreate, lol. Ugh, I didn't wanna spend that much on a drawing pad, but I want to be able to have a portable one. Thanks for the quick response!
@@CreateNowSleepLater Thanks! I ended up getting an ipad pro 4th gen, lmaooo. I wanted portability :) Thanks again for replying!
Enjoy, that’s a great art combo!
Do you need a laptop or computer for it to work?
Yes.
@@CreateNowSleepLater oof k thx
Do you have to buy photoshop if I want to use photoshop, or does it come with photoshop?
You have to buy it. Photoshop is a subscription model.
Ok
Can this tablet work good for 2D animation, and on programs like Toonboom and Adobe animate?!?
I dont see why not. Its more like if your rig can handle it. If it can now, you're good.
Hi, I am looking for a design tablet which is compatible with Mac IOS. I haven’t done drawing digitally before but at serious about doing it as my work are looking for some cool drawings to add to the website. Is this device compatible with IOS and is it user friendly ? This review is great by the way !
MAC IOS? No. You are much better off with an iPad for IOS.
@@CreateNowSleepLater so I can’t use it with my MacBook ?!
MacBook yes but that doesn’t run IOS. Sorry I got confused.
@@CreateNowSleepLater don’t all MacBooks run IOS as there software
No, they run MACOS. IOS is specifically iPhones/iPads.
I got one recently it’s pretty good only thing that annoys me is the pen buttons
What annoys you about the pen buttons?
@@CreateNowSleepLater I accidentally press them sometime so I just bought a new one everything else is good tho
Does the Artist 12 pro work on any type of laptop?
As long as you have the right connections.
Does it work with the hp Windows 14-cf1010ds?
There are no minimum requirements other than you need HDMI and USB ports. Your video card in that laptop needs to do 1080p but any newer one will do that.
Can u draw on it without connecting to computer?
Nope, you need a host PC or Laptop.
Can anyone tell me if this can be used without being connected to pc/laptop? And just by power adapter/plug.
If so. How long is it from the adapter to tablet
no
Do you need 3 USB's on your laptop/PC to work the 12 pro?
Nope, you can use one usb for data and 1 for power. The third is for video. You can take one usb cable and use any phone charger too.
@@CreateNowSleepLater Thank you!!😄
Can I make animations with it or is it just for drawing?
Sure, if it works with a mouse, it will work.
U can do powerpoind or word document wits it and u can broadcast what u doing on youtube or twich and u can use it on zoom class and write notes
I just said to my father i want to buy it for xmas so i will buy it
Do u need to connect it to a computer
You do.
Does xp artist 12 pro work with Macbook?
Yep.
Is there brown as colour
You mean instead of black?
Can I draw with it if I haven't a PC?
You cannot. It needs a host pc or laptop.
you made me buy my tablet
What programs are good for this device?
Depends what type of art you do. The device doesn’t care.
@@CreateNowSleepLater oh ok thanks, do you have any recommendations for any free ones to start off with? :)
What kind of art?
What if you dont have computer is that okay you can use it without computer?
No, you need a computer to hook it up to.
Really ok😔

Does it run on 64 bit? that s my question.
64 bit windows? Yes.
