I loved this first meeting, it was a perfect representation of their identities and personality.
They were all good and kind to April. Raphael was a little rude, but that's his personality. yet he was good to her in his own way. Even though they clean the phone when April faints, they don't leave her there unconscious and take care of her. Even though April is surprised and scared at first, when she calms down, she really looks at them with curiosity, not fear. Because she knows that they are good men and will not harm her, her fear passes and she does not run away from them. especially from the moment she realized they were her turtles she is surprised and happy.
Raph pull her in the roof with his Ninja gears and then she gets a little hurt ....
She doesn't get away,she was scared...
Raph appears and threatened April by giving the camera to him,
But she refused.
@@pynzlyngdohnonglait6698 yeah, he's a little rude to her in that scene and talks that way because he's imitating batman. But this was a momentary thing. However, in that scene he doesn't know her yet and thought April saw them as freaks. But later on, Raphael's behavior towards April starts to change and he becomes really kind to her. Raphael never behaves aggressively or rudely when around April and is quite brave to protect her. Raphael's speech and behavior towards Vern and Casey are completely different compared to April. also, April doesn't shy away from Raphael when she's around him, and she actually has an understanding, approving, and special look towards him. It can be understood that there is a different relationship between Raphael and April.
The writers were smart enough to give each of the four aspects of being a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle to the character who was most suitable for delivering them. Granted, they didn't put them in the right order but it comes across more naturally like this than it would if they tried to put the name of the movie into the dialogue.
Leo emphasises that they're ninjas because ninjitsu is his second love behind his family.
Raph emphasises that they're mutants because he's the one who doesn't care about fitting in.
Don emphasises that they're turtles because he cares about biological accuracy.
Mikey emphasises that they're teenagers because he's the most immature.
Dude, that's a smart analysis. Kudos to you!
they could have just made Mikey say it first, then Ralph, then Leo and then Don to make it fit.

Mikey and Leo would be the last ones standing , with Leo winning, he is the leader after all and for good reason. Raph’s rage blinds him and Donatello is more skilled in tech and general knowledge than he is in fighting.
They personalities are so on point.

Tbh these movies were underrated, I do think that the turtles look a little scary but that’s how I imagine literal giant talking mutated turtles to look like. Even if it had some flaws it was still cool and had great action scenes

Despite the noses, I do like the designs of each turtle. Each turtle has their own distinct looks and personality where you can easily tell them apart, and I love it!!

A lot of people criticized this movie, and rightfully so, but I honestly liked it, and thought the Turtles looked pretty cool.
Also, the voice actors for the turtles and Splinter were really really good ngl.
I quite liked these movies despite a few flaws. Overall, the Turtles personalities and chemistry were well done (except Michelangelo acting a bit creepy.) The action scenes were exciting. Although the Turtles looks recieve a lot of hate, I thought the animation team did a good job at making realistic Ninja Turtles, each with unique features. (Many people said they looked creepy, but isn't that sort of the point? In their reality, people were often scared of their appearance.)
Maybe the realism was a bit too much like how they first did Sonic.
@X3M I'd say that's a bit different. The original sonic design had no aspect that resembled him, not even the shoes or gloves. I can still tell that these are ninja turtles and I for one liked the change. They didn't want to be like the original and that's fine imo.

The Sonic design attempted to keep cartoonish, overblown proportions while creating a 3D live action movie character, resulting in something grotesque. The TMNT character designers went out of their ways to make them look realistic, so I think the issue many have in this case may have been what psychologists call "The Uncanny." It's the same reason a lot of people are creeped out by clowns, robots, and masks; someone who looks almost human but not quite activates some humans' Flight instinct.

I think you're right: the 90s movie Turtles weren't scary to people because they were so much closer to their cartoon versions and didn't look quite real. And you may be right that the height in the 2014/2016 films added more intimidation. If that was on purpose, they may have succeeded TOO well. LOL!
