I think you could see Sonic Shuffle if and only if they ever do a Dreamcast Mini. You need like 20 games to fill a system like that and you're gonna need a few deep cuts to fill the list out. Same with Sonic R and a Saturn Mini.
@pattersong6637 I'm one of those people who's hoping for both a Saturn Mini and a Dreamcast Mini. For the former, in addition to the Sonic games, some other IPs I'm hoping for include Baku Baku Animal, Bug!, Clockwork Knight, and NIGHTS. For the Dreamcast, I'm hoping for the two Sonic Adventure games and Shuffle, as well as Sega Bass Fishing, Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Toy Commander, Chu Chu Rocket, and Ooga Booga.
@@FlyingDuckMan360 Saturn Mini is much harder just because so many of the Saturn's best games are only in Japanese. That said, in addition to the games you listed, the Panzer Dragoon games should be on Saturn Mini. Your Dreamcast Mini list is really solid, but there are a bunch you can add like Space Channel 5, Powerstone, and Ikaruga. It gets hard quick to come up with 20-ish really good Saturn games IN ENGLISH for a Saturn Mini, which is one of the reasons I'm pessimistic about it though I'd love it. Dreamcast Mini should be easy.
@@pattersong6637 Perhaps maybe having 1 or 2 of Capcom's 2D fighting games on the Saturn mini would be cool, since at the time those versions of Capcom's arcade ports ran and played better on the Saturn compared to their PlayStation counterparts.
I think authorities would prefer if we kept this disclosed, but a widespread rumor surrounding Knuckles Chaotix is that the game isn't trapped on the 32x, moreso it was imprisoned there as a corporal punishment - most likely for it introducing Charmy the Bee - however much speculation is on the topic. Any other ideas on why though?
6:12 - Agreed. For a sequel to Sonic Shuffle, what I'd like to see in it is the same gameplay (drawing cards to move across the board and battle enemies, collecting seven gems, and the game ending when all seven are collected), but with improved AI (less likely to take your best cards even when they have the exact same ones), new playable characters (Shadow, Rouge, Cream, Blaze, and Silver), and elements more in line with the Sonic franchise (the Chaos Emeralds taking the place of the Precioustones, Dr. Eggman's Badniks taking the places of the Precioustone Monsters, and worlds like Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and Casino Night).
Sonic Advance absloutely needs a collection of some sort, or at the very least add them to the Game Boy Advance NSO. I could potentially see the Sonic Story Book games released if they were reworked to remove motion controls but that's highly unlikely.
the first sonic games i played were shadow in my neighbor's house, sonic 4 episode 2 in my dad's ipad and i end up owning sonic riders zero gravity and black knight for the wii. is wild how much i love those games and the franchise as a whole after those games being my introduction to sonic.
You know what Sonic Shuffle was still a fun game. Would be cool to see the concept come back. Maybe do something more with the cards, like building a deck to use during the gameboard or boss battles.
>Nobody cares about Knuckles Chaotix That hit me so hard because it’s so true, I’m a huge apologist for the game, you are always tethered to your partner, each lead character plays differently with Charmy being one of the most powerful characters in gaming (props if you get the reference), you can accrue negative ring count debt if you press a certain character to get unstuck your characters if you ever get stuck lol which I find hilarious. One of my favorite songs from the game is Marina Madness/Seascape. It also has my favorite special stages in the classic series.
Leave the solid story and music for both games alone. Black Knight has better controls/gameplay. I cannot defend Secret Rings god awful controls/gameplay and mission structure. Party mode was fun though.
To be fair, Neo Geo Pocket Color games have been re-released recently by SNK for the Nintendo Switch and Steam. We even got some Capcom NGPC games like the SNK vs Capcom games, and Mega Man Battle & Fighters. Maybe SNK can approach SEGA for a re-release deal? 🤷
i really wish sega have some care about sonic heroes because like you said it was your first sonic game you've played in the sonic series and this is applies to me too. heck, i think it's considered the introduction to the sonic series for most of 2000s sonic fans myself included.
9:43 I hate when people shit on Shadow the Hedgehog for no reason. It's actually a fun game. I enjoyed it as a kid and as an adult. I beat it recently too lmao
I like to see how these games can be relevant in today's modern gaming systems as either re-releases or remasters or straight from the ground up remakes like Crash N sane trilogy and Spyro Reignited trilogy.
While Secret Rings is pretty hated, and was unplayably awful in my opinion, Black Knight does not deserve to be painted with that brush. It has its fans, and it was pretty fun to play honestly, with one of the best stories in the franchise. It isn't amazing, but it's not a bad game either.
Luckily regarding Sonic 06, we have Project06 to look forward too on PC. Though I think it's technically cheating to say when it comes to this list, since it's a unofficial fan made remaster lol
But the thing is, once you mention “we have the PC blah, blah, blah”, you’ve literally opened up the possibility to play ALL games ever made. This video is talking about “legit” ways of playing these games without the use of original hardware.
Unleashed and Generations have been stuck in PS3 era purgatory for some time now, so I’d like to see them get a remaster. I know that Gens has a PC port, but from what I’ve heard, it runs super bad, so could still use an upgrade. As well as the original Dreamcast versions of the Adventure games; which to my knowledge, have never been properly ported apart from PC mods for DX. I’d really like to see those ported/remade/remastered, since DX just doesn’t cut it.
@@evdestroy4121 fair enough. I’ve just only heard bad things about it. And anyway, a remaster would certainly do it good. Especially since they’ve seemingly perfected Classic Sonic in 3D for Superstars.

@@SauceBoss14 It's not new, but it has never been officially accepted as real English. If you might happen to be writing dialogue for a character who uses much more colloquial speech, you could get away with it. But absolutely don't use "that're" formally or on a real document.
Here's hoping this video ages poorly. There have been rumors of rereleases for several years now, most notably Sonic Heroes. I would be surprised if we didn't get any of these back over the next few years, especially with the impending gap between major releases. Frontiers 2 is still a few years off, and with Sega interested in "keeping the ball rolling", a re-release/collection would make perfect sense in 2024 or 2025.
So, in general, these games haven't been rereleased because they're either difficult to port due to hardware limitations, generally considered to be bad, or legally not allowed to talk about it ever again.
As a big fan of Sonic R and Shadow the Hedgehog I'd certainly prefer not to forget them. Sonic R is definitely too short and the controls take a little getting used to but those controls definitely aren't bad like the internet mob likes to parrot. It's the only racing game in the franchise that uses the footrace format allowing for more creative track layouts, multiple interwoven pathways like the classic games, and the use of character specific abilities the latter of which didn't make canon sense because Sonic and Metal Sonic are way too fast for any of their competitors but so what, the other classic games and other games since all follow the same gameplay logic. Shadow the Hedgehog is fun. The gunplay works well without complicating the controls and has a decently varied arsenal. The missions certainly range in quality but are also fun regardless, a clear improvement on the Chaotix gameplay from Heroes which was also fun although sometimes tedious. Shadow controls well too: They clearly used Heroes as the base and as a result the top speed is still amped a bit too high with slippery control but this game added a mechanic that stops Shadow dead in his tracks if while running he approaches a ledge and it also slowed him down a little while jumping allowing for more precise landings. They also added the Spindash in place of Heroes' Rocket Accel which is more iconic and has its uses and they also tweaked the homing attack which works really well. Sure the story was more edgy than serious at times but it's an E10+ video game from a franchise that's certainly touched on some serious topics but is generally and at its core a children's cartoon about animal people with powers and magic jewelry so I don't understand why anyone expects a narrative masterpiece. I've never understood why it matters to people if the characters lightly swear or not although I do find it funny that the use of the words "Damn" and "Hell" by a few members of the cast is a common criticism about this game that the internet mob parrots but that same mob (I presume there's significant overlap) praise the Japanese dub of Sonic X in part for it's use of swear words that were all censored out in the English dub. I'd love to see these two games ported to modern hardware perhaps with minor bugfixes, nothing game-changing, although porting as is would be great too. Alternatively or additionally one or both of these getting a sequel, either in a spiritual or literal sense, would also be exciting.
A few notes: Their issue with SegaSonic's trackball is ridiculous. Just map the direct to a joystick and the rolling to a button. The presentation, sound, graphics, and animation are too good to leave out of their catalogue. Fans have warmed up to R as a bridge between Sonic 3D and Sonic Adventure. I know you said that Sonic 3D gets lumped with the other Genesis games, but it's literally a separate listing on Steam right now. R has an old .exe that could easily be patched and put on Steam too. Sonic Battle being left out of the Advance collection would be foolish because Advance 3 continues its Gizaoid storyline. Shadow '05 get references a tonne in other games, so clearly the Sonic Team is aware that it has fans and is proud of it in some regard. Sonic x Shadow Generations will likely remaster some of its stages, so it's not as unlikely as you say for Shadow '05 to be released. The DS is one of the most emulated consoles, so not sure why you think it'd be that complicated for a game developer to port it. Your comments on what fans think of Sonic and the Black Knight are misguided. Most fans actually like it. It's underrated and you should look into it more. By the way, Sonic '06 was already relisted in 2022 in some countries, and a fanmade recreation that fixes its bugs, controls, and physics shows that its level design was always great. Even the original had great concepts, art direction, and music despite early forums hating on it entirely. Dismissing Sonic '06 like this is kinda old.
Heroes and Shadow technically did see re-releases between 2012-2014, albeit those ones sadly were only the PS2 versions released for PS3 as a PS2 Classic. And only in Europe and Japan (especially in the case of Shadow with the latter).
Black Knight is my favourite Sonic game no question and it pains me that it’s stuck on Wii (Wii U as well with backwards compatibility, that’s how I usually play it, but both of these systems are dead). I would kill for a Switch/PS5 port, seriously!
I am happy that you included Sonic Rush in it because I just finished the whole story of Sonic Rush on my Nintendo DS lite. I got the game and the Ds lite in 2023 summer but I just loved playing that game except some zones that had me killed every time and put me to game over screen. But other than that Sonic Rush soundtrack is so good, the zone music. It's just so good.
12:10 funny thing, it HAS been rereleased… kinda. It was delisted back in 2010, but earlier this year was silently relisted for only 5 bucks on the Xbox Marketplace. Not backwards compatible tho and the store’s shutting down next year soooo…
who are these sonic fans you speak of? I do like knuckles Chaotix, heroes, riders, 06, and black knight. And a lot of people who grew up playing those games are voicing that opinion
Sonic Pocket Adventure would’ve been perfect for the 3DS Virtual Console. I remember when NGPC titles were announced for the 3DS VC, but they sadly never came.
5:40 strange comment to make about goldeneye since goldeneye was extremely popular & a re-release for that game has been in high demand for over 20 years.
Charii5 pointed this out when making his "Everything wrong with Sonic Origins". He noticed that the collection has OST of Knuckles' Chaotix, but not the game itself. It became very hard for him because there were no re-releases for it or modern emulators for it. So, he had to play it with real Sega 32X hardware.
Because it was originally going to be an ambitious sonic title (Sonic Crackers) that once started on the Mega Drive and then briefly moved to the Saturn, but due to complications with SoJ and SOA at the time, the game was heavily scaled back and moved to the 32X where it became Knuckles Chaotix, due to the addon needing more games.
Honestly I feel like the Original Sonic adventure should have been here, I know Sonic Adventure DX exists but I’m pretty sure most of use want to play the original that was only for the Dreamcast
It's aesthetically gorgeous, features a fantastic soundtrack (even by the sky-high standards of its origin series), and boasts one of the most uniquely fascinating playable prototypes of the 16-bit era. Certainly not meritless from a purely artistic perspective. Shame about the actual game, though.

That sonic arcade game looks super cute and the spritework is awesome.
Sonic 06 is currently in the Xbox marketplace, it was put there in 2022 for 5 bucks.Would love the treatment for Shadow.
Sonic 06 actually got relisted on the Xbox 360 store sometime recently but I doubt they'd add backwards compatibility even though that'd be legendary
Ngl I'd kill for that lol. If Plumber's Don't wear ties can be in Modern Consoles then So can 06.
Sonic Battle NEEDS a comeback.
Or at least a sequel
Especially now that Emerl is coming back with the recent animation for Sonic X Shadow Gen. LIKE???? A REMAKE IS DEF NEEDED.
Interesting video! I honestly think the Rush series should really be the ones ported to Steam at least, they are so underrated
Imagine a rerelease of Sonic ‘06 that fixed all the issues with the original and then they put in a toggle to put all those issues back in.
Cool
Sonic Advance absloutely needs a collection of some sort, or at the very least add them to the Game Boy Advance NSO. I could potentially see the Sonic Story Book games released if they were reworked to remove motion controls but that's highly unlikely.
Black Knight was goated honestly and the motion controls were actually decent
Still wish these games would see the light again
the first sonic games i played were shadow in my neighbor's house, sonic 4 episode 2 in my dad's ipad and i end up owning sonic riders zero gravity and black knight for the wii.
is wild how much i love those games and the franchise as a whole after those games being my introduction to sonic.
Sonic Pocket definitely deserves more exposure.
This video not only made me find out Sonic Shuffle exists, but also that the logo seems to be potentially the inspiration of the Pokemon Shuffle logo.
You know what Sonic Shuffle was still a fun game. Would be cool to see the concept come back. Maybe do something more with the cards, like building a deck to use during the gameboard or boss battles.
>Nobody cares about Knuckles Chaotix
That hit me so hard because it’s so true, I’m a huge apologist for the game, you are always tethered to your partner, each lead character plays differently with Charmy being one of the most powerful characters in gaming (props if you get the reference), you can accrue negative ring count debt if you press a certain character to get unstuck your characters if you ever get stuck lol which I find hilarious. One of my favorite songs from the game is Marina Madness/Seascape. It also has my favorite special stages in the classic series.

Leave the solid story and music for both games alone. Black Knight has better controls/gameplay.

It was my first Sonic game as well, alongside _Sonic Advance 3._
@@MattTOB618 welcome to sonic 2000s club my dude!! 👍😊

5:33 Canonically, it was the first Sonic game to introduce Eggman's modern design.
That's tragic seeing these Sonic The Hedgehog games won't ever be rereleased ever again 😔

Sonic Unleashed: "Am I a Joke to You???????"
By what metric can a DS game be considered trapped? Guarantee you have one down the back of your sofa.
The only game on here that I would truly considered trapped is Knuckles chaotix.
« Sonic 06 is never getting rereleased »
Sonic Project-06 (a fan remake that proves the game has a lot of potential): am I a joke to you
Luckily regarding Sonic 06, we have Project06 to look forward too on PC.
Gens PC is fine, also the game runs on Xbox Series X and you can still buy it digitally
@@evdestroy4121 fair enough. I’ve just only heard bad things about it. And anyway, a remaster would certainly do it good. Especially since they’ve seemingly perfected Classic Sonic in 3D for Superstars.
We’re still waiting.
They're both backwards compatible on the Xbox One/Series X, at 60 FPS. And Generations is on PC, and still has an extremely strong modding community.

17:41 I'd give Sega even more respect if they re-released Sonic '06 WITH bug fixes.

I’m not sure Sega wants us to forget Shadow’s spinoff game. After all, Black Doom will make a return in Sonic X Shadow Generations.

Oh c'mon, Sonic and the Black Knight isn't THAT bad.
9:46 well that’s definitely not the case
So, in general, these games haven't been rereleased because they're either difficult to port due to hardware limitations, generally considered to be bad, or legally not allowed to talk about it ever again.
9:41 meanwhile in 2024...
Sonic Unleashed: hold my 5/5 score
It isn't trapped. It's already playable on the Xbox Series and even has a 60fps patch
It is trap on Xbox. D:

But they removed it and we shouldn't ask why.
Imagine if that shit was on Game Pass 💀
Sonic Unleashed sitting in the corner: Guess no one cares about me
As a big fan of Sonic R and Shadow the Hedgehog I'd certainly prefer not to forget them.
Highly agree on the shadow the hedgehog one its so fun imo.
A few notes:
Their issue with SegaSonic's trackball is ridiculous.
Dismissing Sonic '06 like this is kinda old.
hold on no sonic and the black knight was freaking great. people need to stop judging it off secret of the rings
Heroes and Shadow technically did see re-releases between 2012-2014, albeit those ones sadly were only the PS2 versions released for PS3 as a PS2 Classic. And only in Europe and Japan (especially in the case of Shadow with the latter).
Nah man didn't mention Sonic schoolhouse 💀
Black Knight is my favourite Sonic game no question and it pains me that it’s stuck on Wii (Wii U as well with backwards compatibility, that’s how I usually play it, but both of these systems are dead). I would kill for a Switch/PS5 port, seriously!
I find it funny that Unleashed is off as a technicality, since it’s on Xbox store. Not PlayStation Store or Steam, just Xbox store
Goldeneye 64 is not that obscure, it’s even considered one of, if not THE best n64 FPS game
Indeed
I am happy that you included Sonic Rush in it because I just finished the whole story of Sonic Rush on my Nintendo DS lite.
I got the game and the Ds lite in 2023 summer but I just loved playing that game except some zones that had me killed every time and put me to game over screen. But other than that Sonic Rush soundtrack is so good, the zone music. It's just so good.
The reason why the Sonic Advanxe games aren’t rereleased is because of the controls and the hardware and also we have to deal with the companies
9:37 this part aged kinda poorly and I love it sega does NOT want me to forget about the goat🐐
12:10 funny thing, it HAS been rereleased… kinda. It was delisted back in 2010, but earlier this year was silently relisted for only 5 bucks on the Xbox Marketplace. Not backwards compatible tho and the store’s shutting down next year soooo…

13:55 Hold on, how are they bad games?
who are these sonic fans you speak of? I do like knuckles Chaotix, heroes, riders, 06, and black knight. And a lot of people who grew up playing those games are voicing that opinion

Sonic X Shadow generations is effectively a shadow sequal.
8:19 Sonic Heroes came out on PC as well.
Sonic Pocket Adventure would’ve been perfect for the 3DS Virtual Console. I remember when NGPC titles were announced for the 3DS VC, but they sadly never came.

We need a "Sonic Rarities Collection" or something to round up all the forgotten games buried by the sands of time.
5:40 strange comment to make about goldeneye since goldeneye was extremely popular & a re-release for that game has been in high demand for over 20 years.

12:10 I would give 06 a 0.000000000000000000000 out of 5 for being rereleased
Charii5 pointed this out when making his "Everything wrong with Sonic Origins". He noticed that the collection has OST of Knuckles' Chaotix, but not the game itself. It became very hard for him because there were no re-releases for it or modern emulators for it. So, he had to play it with real Sega 32X hardware.
there are 32x emulators lol
I'm pretty sure most Mega Drive emulators work as 32x emulators, you just need to set a few things up
Kega fusion can play it with no issues. Though, I'm not sure people even know what that is.
I played Chaotix on an emulator just fine a few months ago.
don't forget the only good unmodded version of SA1 stuck on dreamcast
i wish these sonic games gets in future sonic game collections like sonic origins
I know Lost Worlds has a steam release but I would like a console release too haha
3:06 Oddly enough, Knuckles Chaotix was developed in Japan.
Sonic 3d world needs a remaster
Don't mix decimals with fractions. Either give a percentage or stick to fractions.
To be fair, Sega technically did re-release Sonic 06 when they randomly re-listed the game a few years ago on the Xbox 360 Marketplace.
Yeah
The Sonic games that I most want to play are 'the adventure games and heroes' I'm still praying for quality ports of the games on modern consoles.
I love Knuckles’ Chaotix with my heart and soul and I will die on that hill.
It's aesthetically gorgeous, features a fantastic soundtrack (even by the sky-high standards of its origin series), and boasts one of the most uniquely fascinating playable prototypes of the 16-bit era. Certainly not meritless from a purely artistic perspective.
