Your locks are gorgeous hun! Best decision ever to combine them. This new size/density frames your face so well. I'm sure the compliments keep pouring in everywhere you go. Sisterlocks are beautiful, but they are not for everyone (me inclusive). I'm happy with my 237 microlocks. No regrets in this chest😄

Both thumbs up! Your hair is lovely. I had my sisterlocks combined the first month in June. The person who combined plaited and within the second week, my hair was getting the frizzies from much needed density/ hair to loc onto. Also I believe I can go past 2 months also. Hair is thriving and I feel less overwhelmed because I like the look better AND it will be doable with less locs to learn how to retie myself. I was really getting to a point of dread putting so much power into someone else's hands regarding my own hair maintenance.

You and your locs look gorgeous - they suit you so much and actually make me question sisterlocks and my life 😂😂
This size is perfect but I also think I like that your pattern is still very visible from combining so I think I’m getting sisterlocks vibes where they look more like twists than locs (twirls rather than matted).
I hope that makes sense, they look texturized rather than matted and I like that look because its unusual and makes you question what they are.
It’ll be good to see what kind of texture they take on or how they look once they’ve matured and lost their pattern.
They look so good though and so do you, I can see your vision now and I’m glad to hear that you are saving time and like the result.

Oh my goodness!! I’m so glad I found you. There is very little content about people with sisterlocks/micro locs combining. I am definitely soaking up all the info as I just approached a year with locs. I am combining my micro locs into traditional locs this Saturday and am so scared lol. My loctician told me my locs could fall out if I went traditional and they were too thick. She prefers micro locs for me, as does my mom, but I don’t like them for myself. I prefer thicker locs on myself since my face is more narrow. The way your locs came out so beautiful is giving me the confidence to step out in faith & embrace my new journey. I’m here for any and all advice such as maintenance etc. Thank you & blessings to you🥹🤎
Hey! I hate that she told you they could fall out, if you went traditional. Heck, they could fall out with microlocs or sisterlocs. I have sisterlocs and have an appointment to have them combined. lol, well, I'm gonna see if my transfer consultant, I moved to the past year, will do it. I want them traditional. I have had three sets of traditional locs and my have did fabulous with them. I've had sisterlocs coming up four years this September. While they have grown like my hair always does with any locs, I have loss two sisterlocs and experiencing thinning. So, I'm gonna do what is best for my locs.

Thanks for uploading. I literally been waiting for an update...lol. I got my sisterlock EST 5-25-20. So, I’m literally still in the baby stage. Honestly, I love them but I definitely want to see if I every combine them how they would potentially look. I love how your locks look. It’s definitely something to consider down the line. I go three months in between retightenings and hope to try for four this go 😅 I think I still have 150+ more locs than you so three months should be doable for you.
Tinier locks require more frequent retightenings because they require more rotations per same amount of length grown out...hope that makes sense. That’s something I noticed on my head since I have varying sizes of locs. Not only is your retightening time cut down due to having less locs, but they require less rotations per loc - a nice bonus!

I love them!! This is the look that I wanted lol. My original loctician gave me teeny tiny locs in the back and bigger ones towards the top. I have combined some of the ones in the back and my edges also. I like the size of the bigger ones.

Thank you! My wash routine hasn't changed. I've been using Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle shampoo.

I haven't noticed any budding yet after combining them but the braid pattern is not as prevalent. I've been using Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle recently. He's still here! 🐶

For the most part! There are a few wonky parts I'd like to clean up as my hair grows. For those, I only had 3 sisterlocks to combined vs the 4 I aimed for.
I am 3 months in and I am already considering combining my sisterlocks. Is this something I have to wait until my sisterlocks are mature?
