- The pump I bought and replaced the old one with.
www.amazon.com/Pressure-Washe...
The oil inside of the pump is 30w non detergent oil or most of the pressure washer pump oils that are non detergent.
Awesome video, thank you! My pwr washer just failed.
I have an Excell XR2625 with the same old failed pump you just replaced. One of the 2 Teflon parts failed, which caused a cast part around the shaft to fail. (Split up)
So I’m ordering the replacement pump. (My grandson’s not too happy about it, 🙁. because when it broke, I said, “well there’s a great motor for a go cart” 🤣
Haha, That's great for you and a bummer for your grandson.
Seriously though, I think one thing worth mentioning is shaft diameter. I bought a pressure washer that runs with no pressure, for $50. I jumped on it because I knew it would be an easy fix and I could get double my money back. I first checked the unloader valve and it was fine. I removed the pump and found that the engine (same one as in this video) has a 3/4in shaft and the pump (also same one as in this video) was made for a 7/8in shaft. The engine was not engaging the pump. I bought a crank shaft sleeve adapter for 3/4 to 7/8 and boom! Sold it for $125
Duly noted, on the next upgrade video I'll go into more about the shaft size and diameter. I do this as a hobby. If I flip things, its at the cost of the parts to fix it, even when I working on other people stuff.
EXACTLY what I needed !! Thanks.
Great to hear.
Hello ...how do you adjust this pump ????
Tony, please be clearer on what are you wanting to adjust on the pump? If it's pressure, it depends on a few things, like age, storage, dirty water, and a few others.
Awesome video sir thank you so much!!
Glad you liked it
I did the same. Pump won’t build pressure when I pull the trigger on the wand. Yes the keys on the shaft.
Check and see if there is no blockage, I found a small piece of plastic on the inlet side and restricted the pump.
thanks for the video! I replaced my pump thanks to your video but I am still not getting any pressure. Engine starts and seems to be running fine but when I have the hose going and pull the trigger all I get is a water running out of the gun like a hose. Any suggestions would we be appreciated!
If it's a new pump. First, check the nozzle tip to see if they are clean, then the trigger to see if the water is flowing unrestricted. Then check the hose to see if it flows fine, sometimes the hoses are cheap and can collapse, causing a restriction. Then on to the pump, If everything is fine and the pump issue, I would return it if under warranty. You can even get a bad pump that is supposed to be brand new. Tearing down and inspecting pumps aren't that bad and there are a lot of videos on it on youtube.
Install the key?
I have a XR2600 what size is the shaft ?
Excellent advice on buying a new hose and wand I’ve seen high pressure hoses explode as well as the wand triggers won’t work do to high pressure
I'm sorry, I don't have it on hand.
I took the 4 bolts out to pull the pump off, problem I’m having is the pump is stuck on. Ever run into this, and any tricks to get it off? Thanks
I haven't had the fun of it being really stuck on the shaft.I usually spray PB blaster all around before I take it apart. I let it sit for a few hours.
Now I have the same pressure washer with the same pump you have from amazon, even has the same red oil fill knob and on the sticker it says it takes 75/90 gear lube. People read your label or manual to use the correct oil viscosity and type.
Good tip.
@@jetzombie I believe they make two pumps that look close to each other and one is a different lube application I will look it up and post .
Do you need that yellow plug on the red oil vent? My pump didn't come with it.
I think you'll be fine, just need something to cover or plug the hole.
I have a 2600 with the new pump I just got from someone the motor runs fine the pump works when holding the handle but as soon as I let go the motor builds up to much pressure and stalls any idea ?
Sounds like the unloader valve is stuck closed. It depends on the model where its located at, they can get a little corroded because of the water. Usually just remove it and cleaning it to make it actuate again. There are a lot of vids on youtube that show how to do it, I don't have one on my channel, yet.
2600 gallon per minute!? Wow!!
I know right :).
What kind of tool to remove screws where housing is attached. Very tight area.
Allen head screws. Use a screw extractor kit.
How do i get the garden hose part off to get the plastic cover off?
Remove the hose fitting with a hex wrench or socket on the inside of the fitting, can't remember what size.
The hose that is under original pump burst on me.
What is that hose for? Goes to metal solid end.
if it's the little clear hose(or black) it's for soap solution to be siphoned when spraying.
@@jetzombie
I found it’s called a pulse hose and is use to take some psi off the pump by expanding. Used in washing machines and some plumbing applications
i bought that pump and it wont suck soap so i can add chemicals to a wash, any recommendations?
Todd, The soap injector spring might be stuck close from shipping or storage. You could remove it and see it the spring is and ball assy inside might be dirty and or stuck close. Now, if that doesn't help you can get this kit to help inject soap into your spray >>www.amazon.com/MINGLE-Adjustable-Chemical-Injector-Pressure/dp/B07RTKJ27X/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1OEIOJCI62AB5&dchild=1&keywords=pressure+washer+inline+soap+dispenser&qid=1601592299&sprefix=pressure+washer+inline%2Clawngarden%2C219&sr=8-2
I hope this helps.
Thumbs up for the laugh at 2:06! 🤣😂
Hahaha!
How did you get the pump off mine is stuck
I have had them stuck at the base and had to grind the head off of the bolts and it popped off. Now, The gear on the shaft, I've had to cut it off the gear because the lock bolt that holds the gear to the shaft was so bad that I couldn't extract it or even drill through it. I have also used heat at the base with a heat gun and not a torch to get it to break free. let me know if that helps or you have any other questions.
What kind of oil is used for the pump?
30w HD non detergent oil or most of the pressure washer pump oils that are non detergent.
Does the square key come with the new pump
nope, 3/16
How can I get the Allen head bolts out. Mine are stupid tight and won’t budge
Ben, sometimes I use a heat gun around the outside of the gear to get it to break loose (you don't need to get it scorching hot), PB Blaster or equivalent, spray the inside of the a, let it soak for a few hours then try again, use a bolt extractor kit (be careful they like to snap and no fun to try and get out), and then if all fails, I have had to cut the old gear with the Allen head off because it was too seize on the shaft with rust. Usually the PB and heat work. Hang in there.
T P's I got them off. Bought this pump for this motor. Pump 7/8 and shaft 3/4. 100$ pump plus 10$ adapter. At this point better last me a while and do me well
Ben, that's great that you got them off. The pump will do you fine, as long as it's never run it dry. I only know of one failure with these pumps, the person tried to run chemicals through the inlet. After your done using it, use some pump preserver like this after every use when your done>>>>>www.homedepot.com/p/Power-Care-12-oz-Pressure-Washer-Pump-Protector-AP31093/202277609?g_store=3652&mtc=Shopping-B-F_D28I-G-D28I-28_31_PRESSURE_WASHER-MULTI-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-BASE_SHP&cm_mmc=Shopping-B-F_D28I-G-D28I-28_31_PRESSURE_WASHER-MULTI-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-BASE_SHP-71700000052573955-58700005047985623-92700044109587812&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjeuJ78WQ6QIVmo7ICh2fPg8zEAQYAiABEgIZN_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
This will help make the pump last longer, especially if you have hard water.
Will that pump you purchased work for a Honda Excell 2500, xr2500,

Does the Square key come with the new pump
nope, 3/16 square key.
I have a pressure washer just like that the water comes out but it's not real real powerful what should be wrong with it runs fine
The internal pump assembly could have corrosion from the aluminum housing blocking the passage and the springs to work right.
@@jetzombie how would you clean that out thanks Troy
Disassembly the pump and clean the internal (I don't have a video but, they're are some good ones on youtube) use simple green or dawn to clean with. Also you can use an ultrasonic cleaner with soap.
Hello .my name is Curt Channing and I have a Honda GX 110 motor that runs a Pressure washer I think it is a 1200 psi The motor runs great but I can no longer get a seal kit for the pump.I have checked everywere. The motor is a 3.5 hp engine.Do you think this motor will run this pump or do you know of a pump on ebay that may work for this size engine
Pretty sure it do the trick, jut make sure the shaft diameter and length will work.
Did the pump come with the key?
Now, I used the original one. But used square stock for other ones.
Hi. My pressure washer pump is bad. I need to replace it, I don’t know how to buy the right pump. All I know about my pressure washer is that it 2.5GPM, 3100 PSI. How can I shop for the right pump?
Okay Jimmy, lets see if I can help you. What is the make and model of it, like is it a Karcher, Craftsman, Troybilt, and other companies with what type of engine is it a Briggs or Honda?
T P's it’s Simpson, and engine is Honda.
Jimmy, If its a MegaShot MSH3125 by Simpson then I believe these might be your replacement pumps. This is a parts diagram(not knowing the model #, makes it a little had)

Happy Badger videos Thank you for all your help
how do i get the cover off? What size bolts also for the hose connects how do i get those off
Inside the fitting is a hex head, cant remember what size it is. to removes the fittings.
@@jetzombie what about the black cover
@ejvaughn4228 Take the two hose fittings off and the screws holding it down and it comes off.
@@jetzombie id there a wrench for the second fitting or is it the 3/8 hex key too
@ejvaughn4228 I think it is a hex or I had to shave a wrench to get it off. I'm sorry I can't remember exactly.
What’s the part number on that pump?

I was just given the exact same power washer.
The motor runs great, but no water pressure at all. It acts like it wants to build up pressure, but when I pull the trigger on the wand, it just trickles.
I was gonna replace the pump.
How much was that pump & what website do I go to to order it?
Much thanks from Mobile Alabama for the video.
Randy, here you go. It's about $74.00>>>>>www.ebay.com/itm/Pressure-Washer-Pump-for-Honda-Excell-XR2500-XR2600-XC2600-EXHA2425-XR2625/301829259676

Thank you TP very much.
I'll get back to you & let you know how things turns out.
Much love from Mobile Alabama.
@@randymiller3949 Thank you and wish you luck. If you need any help, just let me now. Greetings from NC.
You forgot to show how to take the fittings off where the water hose and wand hose goes in the pump. One of them takes an Alan socket. I already knew that but alot of people dont know shit from shine on these things. They'd still be lost after watching this video. Still stuck on how to get the damn pump cover off.
Next one I do, I'll make sure I add it. Thank you.
Kyle Norris I’m sure you already have it figured out but if you take of the fittings that the water hose and pressure hose hook up the cover will come off after removing the screw on each side.
@@HHummin2 what size is allen wrench for where garden hose hooks up?
What size of allen wrench to remove garden hose fitting?
What size shaft is that?
Shaft of the motor is diameter 7/8" and the length is 1.25"
Use never size
Always.
