Have you guys ever doorDash really early in the morning or really late at night?
Yes, late at night after my 12 hr shift at my hospital job. I am also in the KC area. My problem is I am a female and I get sent to really bad areas. I have quickly learned what to avoid. I constantly get sent all over the KC area and out of my zones. This is crazy! Trying to figure it out. I'm going on my third week doing this but it is a nice little side hustle if I can figure out how to not drive from one side of KC to the other.
Amy Patton Yeah Amy there’s definitely a lot of money to be made in that late night shift but I would so be very careful because there are some sketchy people. I hope I can help with my videos glad to see you’re just starting out!!!
Dylan Owens only Friday night and Saturday night is good, make sure you dash in nice rich areas , big tips, avoid low income areas cause they never tip.
Tony Aqueveque I have actually had different experiences I don’t always get tips from wealthy areas and the weekends are the busiest but also the most dashers too
Tony Aqueveque but definitely not bad advice thank you for your comment!
Who the hell orders just an orange Fanta at 6am..
LOL Ik
Wtf really
Are murderers. Lol
Exactly! I wonder if you can refuse or turn down orders that are not worth your time or gas spent.
REMEMBER WHEN CONSIDERING HOW MUCH YOU MADE - Tracking your mileage is essential. At the end of the year, for 2020 = IRS Lowers Standard Mileage Rate for 2020
Business miles rate will be 57.5 cents per mile, down from 58 cents. So, 57.5 cents per mile, and a trip of 10 miles, means you have $5.75, + Delivery Fee, + Tip. Consider that you will need to replace your brakes $400 for complete brake job, and replace your tires $800 complete tire replacement. Knowing this going in and not spending everything you make will go a long way of saving $1500 to do those major repairs on an annual basis. The only reason I drive for Uber, Lyft, and Doordash is for the tax breaks. Before getting rid of my 'W-4's' with '1099 gig' saved me about $3000 per year taxes. And, that thought reminds me to share that you do need to make quarterly tax payments. I send in $100 per month so by the end of the year, I have $1200 credit from taxes. That $1200 credit is the amount Ill need for tires and brakes. Budgeting is oh so important when you work the 'gig economy'. Buckle up, drive safe, keep your eyes on the road.
david bahn great info in here I appreciate the comment and I do indeed track miles for every trip
Great info. I just started doing door dash. Good to know about tax breaks
Just supporting you overall. Civil discourse, conversation, and trolls all come with vids. Keep doing these.
johnny baxley I appreciate you man, comments like this mean a lot! Got more coming out this week! Grateful for the kind words
Lol keep grinding bro
Matt Brady thanks brother I definitely have had a learning curve with both DD and UA-cam but it’s all in time and I enjoy both so! I appreciate your time man (thanks for the sub)
Dashing in KC bro.... I do it too. Not much pops off till 11. Try dashing in wyandotte co 60 hours a week. It's a learning curve. But it works. Any market is the same. Visit the doordash reddit.
johnny baxley gotcha man I haven’t had a huge problem in terms of orders not coming in till 11 I do try my best to schedule and lol I’m on the Reddit right now
johnny baxley definitely might try Wyandotte county
I have been doing this over 2 years on and off. Like 6 months off and 2 on or 3 off and 2 on..you get the idea. I only have 1800+ deliveries. But.. I have worked in the service industry for years. So I k ow what I am doing. DD is a lose lose situation unless you work it. Know your market. Know your restaraunts, know wait times. Know complainers. Keep that AR low if it means more money. Cherry pick like a mofo.
johnny baxley ya man you definitely have more experience than me but I started about 7 months ago (right after I turned 18) so I am still learning but what I have learned I do like to share so that other dashers don’t make the same mistakes I made and/or document my progress throughout my dd journey. But I’m planing on doing some other money making ideas like outside of delivery but so far I have enjoyed myself making these videos
I get weird ass people too, I went to an apartment smelled like weed a bunch of sketchy people walking around never again will I deliver to an apartment area.
Shit made me laugh subbed!
The Badass197 appreciat that ❤️❤️😂😂
1 orange fanta at 6 am?! Wtf is wrong with people? I hated postmates because it could take up to 48 hrs to see the tip…..if any.
Yeah I think it was a late night Fanta for her opposed to an early morning one
Dashing at 5 am is not something anyone should try lol, I mean no one is awake so of course it will be slow, you wouldn’t need to test it to really know . Morning is around 8 am when people are waking up z..
