People forget these men lived in the areas they worked in. My dad was in 6 UDR and was lucky enough never to be targeted or injured, same for the men in his section. 24 hour shifts, patroling the border, lying in ditches for hours. Grateful to them all 🇬🇧
God bless the brave, indomitable Ulstermen who devoted their very lives to the defence of His Majesty’s Sovereign Realm, the integral part of the United Kingdom that is the Six Counties. Union then, Union now, Union forever. 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧

They were nakedly sectarian bigots and cowards who colluded with Loyalist terrorists in targeting vulnerable Catholic civilians, mainly elderly ones, in border areas.
@@dessy76that’s not true, majority were normal everyday people living in a poor time who signed up to do a job and defend their country, plenty catholics were in the udr which is why the B Men disbanded in 1970.

No. All were from Northern Ireland. However, due to intimidation and assassination from their own Catholic neighbours and the IRA, their numbers dwindled to next to nothing very quickly. I say this from personal experience 71-76.

Former Defenders Of The Six Counties, For God and Ulster, No Surrender
Most of them were in The uda or uvf. Calling them defenders for murdering catholics is a bit rich.
