I understand that having the game end in 15 minutes when someone gets a bingo is problematic, but the drama and planning that goes into setting up and blocking lines adds a lot of entertainment value. Maybe getting a bingo line can be worth a bonus without ending the game?
That said, 2v2 sounds awesome and I'm super hyped for it!
I’ll say it for those of us in the back: BRING BACK BINGOS. I will watch a 15-30 minute nail biter or blowout. I will watch a 2 hour slugfest of trading snipes that ends in a tie or majority. I’m not gonna sit through 4 people poorly going through a hard to read checklist in a scramble format.
A bingo board with no bingo is just a checklist but less readable 🤷♂️
I binged all of season 2. But if season 3 doesn't have bingos, then I am completely and utterly uninterested.
It's just two solo speedruns with extra steps. The only player interaction is when a square gets sniped, usually by complete accident.
I think the unlocked graces are a lot worse, because they have no way of tracking the opponents map progress which takes a lot of the mind games out of it
@@axelminus - If they want to cut out some filler, I would totally be down for players starting with Torrent/Smellina. That little jog to the first grace doesn't really add much, and I imagine it gets extremely repetitive for the runners.
@@CheshireCadSounds like a good idea. The only impact I see is that players can't choose to do a risky Ageel anymore
I agree, by removing the bingo the game becomes way less strategic and more tactical. Don't really like this format even though it's still better than the non-lockout one (that one was just boring).
But even the "lines" matches wound up coming down to majority 9/10 times.
I'm all for shaking things up, but I think there's something missing from the mind games that comes from having Bingos as an option for a win condition. There are certain things in quality of life that are nice for graces, but I think the change should look for a direction to reinstate some of the strategy that comes from being able to force your opponent to block an insta-win.
Exactly, bingos are an extra layer of strategy which makes it more fun.

I think one possible thing could be "bingo lines count as extra squares". This way the board still matters and there's an incentive to go for tough squares, but no auto-win in first 15 minutes.
@@Absurdated - That's a great idea. It's such an insignificant change, but it's just enough to add a little bit of player interaction. It also makes the bingo board an actual *bingo* board, instead of just a terribly-formatted list.
Although, it's very unlikely that there would be more than one bingo each game, since getting one automatically blocks off at least 8 of the opponents' bingos. So perhaps they should count as three points. Still powerful and a looming threat, but not at all an instant end to the game.

Instead of negating the win of the bingo, couldn't you just make the squares worth extra points if a bingo is earned? Like three extra squares to incentive going for a bingo but not make it a death sentence if you lose it?
Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
1 point per square, plus 2 or 3 per bingo. That would re-incentivise bingos, hence re-introduce some of the lost "mind games" aspect, while keeping matches longer than 20 minutes.
I dont mind it being only lockout bingo, regular bingo is fun to watch but this still kept you on your toes
Everyone saying that this will be worse with ouy bingos, honestly this could be better as its a 2v2, as long as they add more late game squares so one player has to commit to them, if it was just 1v1s then yeah it would be worse but the 2v2 angle means that they kind of have to plan routes better so they arent wasting time, plus bingos would be way to fast with 2v2

Probably because it’s 2v2. A bingo can be obtained extremely quickly when well cordinated (and a bit lucky)
S3 will be 2v2s so bingos would end quickly
If they are too quick wouldn’t it just be better to have a 6x6 board? So that it becomes quite more difficult to rush a bingo

I think adamfreed has a really good point. Sure some games end in 15. But this just shows you either a major skill diff most of the time or sometimes a pretty damn easy luck difference. but the games you get where it is neck and neck, and you fill the board those are the bangers. This does just seem like a random string of challenges they are doing without any real risk or consequence.

Ive noticed your biggest problem in this aggy you gotta stop sitting on squares and just go for the ones you can get asap almost every time you sit on 1 it gets sniped
I don't understand the status effect square. Does Commander's Standard's effect not count?
Status effect as in one applied by your weapon to the enemy.
I believe the full list is bleed, poison, scarlet rot, sleep, frost, death blight, madness.
Instead of going no bingo, you should double down on the bingo part. A win is 2 points, a bingo win is 3 points. The best part of the game is the bingo snipes, I really don’t understand why you would eliminate it
Really they should add a rule that the bosses are one sided so if one team mate kills radahn, the other cant or at least cant use the runes from it

With this new open map format, does this mean late game squares are viable?
Thereve been plenty of races for late game squares in past seasons, and since you still need multiple remembrances to do certain areas, all it’s done is remove the mind game portion of knowing where your opponent has access to.

I wish there was a rule about no quit outs, it's kind of obnoxious imo
In some situations I think it makes sense, and in others it would be more interesting to see how they get out of it. For example I don't want to watch them run from a dragon every time they get the Academy key. But that would be hard to make rules around I think
