May this message be a healing balm for the many women who have experienced shaming abuse by the label "Jezebel Spirit".

This exact phrase was the “straw that broke the camels back” for me when I watched church leadership address a young mom who was struggling with some things - none including anything close to Jezebel type behaviors. I saw it as incredibly irresponsible for a pastor and his pastor wife to use this terminology for the circumstances they were attributing it to. I cannot thank you enough for sharing this much needed truth for the Church.

I'd have to humbly respectfully disagree. I think there is Def a spirit of it with many characteristics . Def should not shame people as I've seen mentioned but it is real and alive in churches and cities

Thank u brother. I think when jesus spoke that jezebel woman, he didn't mean that was the spirit of jezebel the queen who was married to that Jewish king. But it is possible that the same entity or entities that dominated that first jezebel did the same for the woman in Revelation. And it continues to do so. I would say that the main traits are manipulation through sex of the partner, disregarding of sexual morality in general, spiritual prostitution like , the person will be idolatry to everything that mighty bring benefit or compensation.

yes there is and if you want the worlds analogy just look at the Borg in another language it means legion they have a queen and she leads them whispering voices ( demons ) in their ears getting them to do her bidding filling their heads with all the different voices of legion . trying to assimilate the world .

The phrase "a jezebel spirit in our church" was thrown out in the gossip line in our church. But it was directed toward some of the male leadership. (I am married to a man in this leadership) I'm trying to make sense of the accusation in this context. I really have no idea what was meant by it though I know we have DEEP problems with the person who is accusing. Help anyone?

Read about Jezebel in the Word. Listen to this video. And then honestly, rebuke that accusation because it’s disgusting and doesn’t belong in the mouths of pastors or leaders in addressing “bad” behavior. If you and your husband are struggling with sin and that’s what is possibly fueling those accusations, just deal with it. But not with whoever it is calling that out. Praying for you.

This isn’t new. It’s been in the non-denominational Pentecostal churches for a long time.

Why is it so hard to believe the woman in Revelation was actually named Jezebel? I'm asking unironically. I know a real Jezebel. She's a lovely 70-year-old French woman who loves Jesus and just has an unfortunate name. There have been parents giving children unfortunate names since time began.
I know the argument is 'Revelation is just symbolism', but seriously. The woman could be legit named Jezebel.

I was taught that the Jezebel spirit started with the King of the Babylon Empire Nimrod, by him marrying his mother Semiramis, and having children with her, this pasted this Jezebel spirit down the generations. If you marry your mother then your mother is going to tell you what to do, or rule over you, and this is what it means to have a Jezebel spirit, which is a woman trying to rule over or boss a man.

@@brianprice2350 thanks for that info. I am going to look into it. I do not subscribe to that doctrine but I am very curious as to its teachers and those who have built a doctrine around it.
