Paver Walkway Restoration using EASYJOINT Joint Sand

- In this video we showcase the process for proper removal of paver joint material and reinstallation. On this project we extract the old polymeric sand with 200 degree water and replace the old sand with new EASYJOINT joint sand. This walkway was installed with a Belgard Hollandstone paver and was over 10 years old.

Thanks for the videos. I used polymeric sand on an existing brick sidewalk (1/2 inch joints with a concrete base.) The polymeric sand never got hard and most of it has washed away over the last 5 years. Would the "easyjoint" product work for my application? How does it hold up over the years?
Most likely Resin sand would hold up better. There are a number of variables that you would have to consider before using it, but since the resin sand cures with oxygen it would remain hard and would be less likely to erode. Poly sand is designed to get flexible when wet so in our experience if you have a consistently wet time period and it rains, it can erode. Of course slope and amount of and intensity of rain, etc., also play a role in the erosion process.
Hey! Did you use grey or dark grey Joint It. I’m struggling in what color to purchase. I don’t want the grout color to detract or be to bright white or dark black next to my beige pink pavers.
This color was Stone Grey. I would suggest whoever you order the sand from, to first have them send you a couple of sample "pucks" that you can hold against your pavers and decide from there. Best of luck!
Thanks for posting. I was planning on doing this this morning and saw another video that recommended the EZ Joint product. But, I'm worried about the potential haze on top of the brick, especially after it looks nice following a pressure cleaning. If I get it in the joints adequately, I'm worried that rinsing to get any compound on top of the bricks will blow out the joints before they can harden. Any suggestions? Thanks.
With the EasyJoint you should not get any hazing. Poly sands can haze from time to time if not installed properly, but that said, they are producing poly sands that haze less and less. It really depends on the type of sand you are using.

We have a trailer rig specifically designed for removal of the sand from the joints. It can also be used for concrete cleaning, house and roof washing. We have designed this rig to manage variables such as water volume, pressure, detergent application, heat on demand for poly sand extraction as well as instruments to deliver the water and detergent (surface cleaners) set with the appropriate nozzles as to not damage the pavers due to any high water pressure.

Yes, yes it is! Many of our client calls come after they try the project themselves and realize it is time to get someone else to get it done :-)
How many tubs of Easy Joint did you have to use for this job?
Pound for pound the coverage is similar to standard polymeric sand so it really depends on your project and application. This project I believe only used 3-4 buckets of Easy joint. They weigh 28# per bucket.
Are you using hot water?
On this one we had to in order to reactivate the polymers within the old leftover sand. Some restorations hot water is not needed but we opt to use it to kill off biological growth when detergents are not advisable.
