    gaps between stone pavers. would be great to see a 2nd video on the min or max for poly sand. as i have a few areas that are greater then 1/8 of inch which requires additional measures then just re applying the sand.. great video btw. the mask is key as the powder is really fine + working outside >> not something one wants to be breathing in...

      Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the size of the gaps are important. I’ll keep that in mind for a future video. Thanks again!

    Great video! Exactly what I was looking for for my own backyard walkway. I have a question though. For me, I only started to get cracks due to weather and settlement in some areas, while other areas of the walkway still look perfectly fine and strong. Instead of removing all the old poly sand from the entire walkway and patio (which would be an tremendously big job) I would like to just repair and touch up the areas where I have deep cracks and grooves between the pavers. Is that a possibility too? Or is the only option to remove the old poly sand from everywhere?

      Thank you for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it. For your question, it really depends on how close the failing poly sand is in relation to the areas with good poly sand. If you have enough distance between the two and there would be no risk of disrupting the good poly sand, then you should be able to fix the one smaller area instead of redoing the entire walkway. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

      I think this is a normal maintenance task everyone with paver walkways and patios will have to do at some point. My opinion is if it's never been done and some areas are failing, it may be better in the long run to do the entire space. Of course easier said than done lol. I'll be doing my back patio and front walkways this summer. Good luck!

      @chocolate_chip21 - exactly 👍🏼 I would rather just do it all in one shot and get it done with. Thanks for the comment!

    Planning and cleaning is essential, otherwise I will try to cover it if the weather guy gets it wrong

    What do you do if not able to remove all of the old polymeric sand between all the stones?

    • @adventuresandstuff

      Good question 👍🏼 you can use a flat scraper tool to break up the old polymeric sand.

    Do you have to remove old poly sand before re applying new poly sand?

    • @adventuresandstuff
      @adventuresandstuff  9 місяців тому

      Yes, the old poly sand will need to be removed. Best way to do this is using a pressure washer like in the video. If you have stubborn areas that can’t be blasted out with the pressure washer, a flat scraper can be used. Hope that helps!
