I’ve been on this ride before
Yes
Yup went last night
@lumpyheadlogan How was it?
I been on the ride before.
When you sit in the back it feels like it holds you in midair for a long time
Went on it for the first time last week and that was the worst part cause you feel like you’re gonna fly out 😂😂
@@cheesytacos9531 fr i went on it yesterday for my first time n yes it does feel like that lol
@@AntonioRodriguez97 oh really! I worked yesterday right by xcelerator !
@@cheesytacos9531 oh nice you work their
thats why i sit in the middle 😂😂😂😂
this was one of the first "real" coasters I'd ever ridden when I was 9... and that was back in 1989. I'd love to ride it again, though. it's got that nostalgic feeling to it.
Same but this year and I’m 18 😭
I want to go but it’s closed 💀💀💀💀
@@nicholasmena9564 bro I’m 13 and I literally cannot wait for it to open
@@kyor1806 it was disassembled, gunna be replaced with something else. it's been over 4 decades after all
@@thecattermat damn man,I always wanted to ride it but I guess my chance is gone :(
Fun fact: going in the first few front rows of the ride might allow you to feel less drops in your stomach then in the back
Really? Why so?
@@Yrodriguez5 the speed
@@Yrodriguez5 if your in the back the front will yank the back giving the back more speed😁
the front row will always leave you hanging for a few seconds at the summit of a drop before letting you go, thus limiting that "dropping feeling" in your stomach. therefore if you're a newbie or rookie coaster rider with some fear, the first few rows will always feel much better than the back. the back, however, will actually yank you from must bunny hills and initial drops, giving you what's called "ejector airtime." this is why most hardcore enthusiasts prefer the back few rows to the front. each ride has it's own elements. if you're starting out, always ask the station attendants on where the least intense rows are located. granted.... and always remember.... sometimes a ride intensity is just an 7-10, and it doesn't matter where you sit (i.e., Xelerator and Hangtime at Knotts, or Goliath, X2 and Full Throttle at Six Flags). so ride at your own bravery, lol.
Looks like I’ll be sitting in the back then
The best part about this ride is that there is never a line and you can go back and ride it over and over again.
I had to wait 40 minutes the 3 times I’ve gone
Yup, I rode it 5 times today, they didn't make us go back around either sincevthere was no line. I love this ride!!!
@@bobbyheenan4061 how, whenever I go there’s a 30 minute wait
@@thighcrush3640 Gotta go the right day, I guess. Maybe with Knott's Scary Farm at night right now, it's slower during the day? But there were no lines for anything but the kids rides. Went on Xcellerator 4 times and Ghostrider 3 times. Montezooma's was really slow today, like I said, we didn't even have to leave the platform and go back around, just got right back on.
@@bobbyheenan4061 jeez I went on every day of the week and they always long lines, summer and not
When I was a little kid, I never had the courage to ride this but always saw this coaster in action. My dad was the only family member to ride this and he enjoyed it. If he was still with us and in good health, I'd jump on the first car and have my dad ride along
I first rode Montezooma's Revenge over 30 years ago and I still love it now. The acceleration at the start is amazing. Great ride!
This is 30 years old! 😮
@@lnd.ventra5162 exactly! And it still kicks ass.
@@lnd.ventra5162 More like over 40 years old now. I first rode this back in August 1978 on my 10th birthday, 3 months after it first open (May of that year) and it kicked ass!
I wanna go back soooo bad I went so many times but still love it
SAME NOW I MISS THE RIDES SOOO BAD😭😭🏃♀️
@@505-m8t Same 😔😔 I live HangTime, Silver Bullet and Ghost Rider. I never went on Xcelerator because the first time I was too short. The second I was too scared. The rest I wanted to go on but the ride was either down or line was too long 😭😭😭
@@patas4life666 IK we went for the hallowed event thinking the rides were open but they were closed :’(
@@505-m8t That sucks I’m going next month 😋😋
@@patas4life666 the ride is fine it’s just that it breaks Dow.
N a lot
i love the middle seats because you go equally as high on both ends, i only felt the adrenaline at the launch which was nice because i was able to enjoy the ride without feeling like i’m gonna die💀💀
I hope Knott’s keeps this ride forever. It’s my favorite at the park. It’s such a unique and fun ride.
It's closed. Along with Ghost Rider right now......
@@rubiopicazojoseph Montezooma is just getting refurbished, it’ll reopen lol
@@triple7marc sorry bro but knotts announced that’s it’s now called MonteZOOMa the forbidden fortress and new track the loop is being rebuilt it’s a brand new ride knotts sold 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
@@deyluvdill The loop being rebuilt is fine, it's the new LSM launch that makes me scared lol
@@triple7marc you enjoy it more than ghost rider? I know it's a great ride and a classic but it's nowhere as good as ghost rider imo.
A sort but very sweet ride. My first backward inversion (shuttle) coaster in the early 80s. The back seats are the best,
It’s the ending that gets you! Last row is where the speed is at literally got up my seat but it was fun experience!
I loved riding this thing at night. Whenever the operator called out “clear dispatch!” The lights in the building would go dim and then all that noise. Good memories 😊
I was just telling some friends about that.. the chandelier s would dim...so bummed it's gone now..
went on this for the first time yesterday and it was craaaazyyyy
This ride is 10x better at night because of the lighting affect when your bout to launch !
I like how the dim the lights right before you launch
I rode this in 1981 when I was eleven. I've ridden many coasters since but Montezooma's Revenge will always be my favorite
Omg such nostalgia for me. This was the bomb for thirteen year old me. That was the last time i was there. Im 35 now... Lol sigh...
I went on this ride and I think the 1 hour wait was worth it 😅
OMG you also had to wait an hour???!!!
The sound feels like an engine exploding 😻
Live laugh love 🍷
Damn, childhood memories!
Waiting 40 minutes to get on it... last second throwing the Raiders hat to the side so you didnt lose it... getting your head beat up going back through the loop...
.... then sprinting to get back in line right after.
Miss those days
This was my first inversion coaster back in 1981. I was 8 at the time.
I adore this coaster’s deep voice.
this brings me back to bein a kid and going to Knotts berry farm on Thanksgiving
“Thank you for riding Montezumas revenge” is so nostalgic now lmao
this is a very short and fun ride def gonna ride it if I ever go to knots berry farm
i'm going to miss this ride😭
Awesome coaster! Its just like the defunct Tidal Wave at Great America which I rode many times. I've only ridden Montezumas Revenge once whenI was a kid back in 92. Hope to ride it once again when I go back to Knotts in 2 weeks! Thanks for posting👍
No problem glad you liked it. It's also very similar to the Greezed Lightnin' at Astroworld. Nothing beats a classic Anton Schwarzkopf creation.
And the now extinct Thunder Looper at Alton Towers
I rode it hundreds of times. Best coaster in California.
Glad I rode this before the ride closed, sadly😢
My ears are loving this 😊
My first looping coaster. If you're a kid in SoCal this is your right of passage ride; to show you've graduated from Camp Snoopy rides.
It's also the easiest to build in Rollercoaster Tycoon lol
it was closed the first time i went to knotts and closed mid day on my second visit 😭
Bro this was my first looping coaster and my first major coaster and I loved it
I want to ride on of these so badly
BRO YOU DONT KNOW HOW BADLY I WANNA GO ON THIS, I WENT TO KNOTTS NOT EVEN 2 MONTHS AGO BUT IT WAS CLOSED SO. I DIDNT GET TO GO ON IT..
For some reason, I remember this ride lasting longer back in the day. Granted, I'm talking way back in like 1992, but I remember the ride doing 2-3 back and forths on the track instead of just 1.
VicinNocal - ...never happened.
It did two runs when I was there in 1981
This ride is great, but be wary that during the loop don’t take your hands off the restraints, it caused me pain in my lower neck
Can’t believe they are tearing this apart and redoing it with awful new restraints on the new trains and an awful name. They shouldn’t have messed with it. It was my favorite shuttle coaster with the cool original trains, flywheel launch, amazing forces through the loop and that awesome deep and mysterious announcer safety voice. I would understand if they only changed it to an LSM launch like Psyche Underground but completely changing the track with new trains and a new name isn’t good or what most enthusiasts want. Shame on Knott’s and Cedar Fair for ruining the last flywheel launch Schwarzkopf shuttle loop in America.
New York has a Flywheel launch that's going to be built around 2022 - 2023, its not sure if it will be installed in those years
I would go on Knott's in October, but COVID-19 interrupted it, and I am from Brazil. So I'll go there more probably in October 2021 due to I'm going there for my birthday.
Sorry but I can’t understand you ,
Ride all of the rides I recommend ghost rider first to see if you will like xcellerater if u like supreme scream go on hang time
It’s reopening on May 21
I'm going this week!!!
May I had a question 🙋♀️ about Montezooma’s Revenge at Knott’s Berry Farm please 🙏, it goes both forwards and backwards right?
It launches forward, does the loop, goes up, goes backwards, does the loop, passes through the station, goes up the other end, goes forward & stops at the station.
In Rollercoaster Tycoon this would be "Powered Launch (Passing Station)" mode.
Walibi belgium : Back in the 80s
Same Ride, called Cirocco.
thanks for the hearing aids!
Classic ride. Rode this today along with silver bullet and some others. Sadly, once I started walking to go ride xcelerator I had an intense headache come on so I had to stop early :(
This ride reminds me of the old Tidal Wave ride California's Great America.
I rode Greezed Lightning at Astroworld many times, but never this one yet
The voice recording instructing the ride's safety sounds like it's slow.
Ah yes Monty best ride
Ride looks short but worth it
Clear.. dispatch. I remember them saying this back in the late 80s. I hope this ride survives
its being redone currently so the original is probably gone
I hope they never close this coaster. When Astroworld closed the Greezed Lightning coaster went with it, my favorite ride of the entire park.
i really don't wanna go on it but now since i watched it i wanna ride ride it so badly it doesn't look that bad after watching it
honestly, i barely even knew what was going on whilst riding it. it went by so fast but it was really fun
This ride is better than it looks trust me I’ve been to Knotts more than all of you.
Reminds me of Greezed Lightning at Astroworld..gonna make the trip to ride this ride for that reason.
It's the same model as the one that was at Astroworld. If I remember correctly, the former Astroworld maintenance guy use to work on this onw after Astroworld closed.
@@ThemeParkPOV wow thanks for that piece of information...I'll be there in September and will reminisce of greezed lightning..thanks for the great videos man..I'm a big fan..
In our contry, we have the same coaster, but here the theme is sooooo much better, and it's beautiful! We called Katapul, this is in Hopi Hari, State Of São Paulo, Brazil!
Went on this for my first time yesterday n it was fun lol
I'm guessing this is the ride that my dad is afraid of...
Imagine having Montezumas Revenge while riding Montezoomas Revenge #lifegoals
Is this pretty much the same dimensions as the old Tidal Wave at Great America Santa Clara,CA?
Gotta love the fact that they literally named a ride after Diarrhea
I just rode this yesterday and shit my pants
10/10 audio
Yeah 😀 This is a Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop from Germany, built for eternity
why is there a small wheel on the track rolling
I love your videos
did Knott's buy the old greased lightning from astro world...
No, but it was the same model.
This looks like Katapul from Hopi Hari on Brazil. (Thunder looper)
I think that's the original safety spiel still in use.
I been oh this before and it was fun and freaking scary
I don't know those people that own Knotts Berry farm and never did
there is a copy of the ride at Walibi Belgium and its all in pitch black
Fuck man i love it the front is just so good
But the weird part is the loop its cool but i feels weird although i still love the ride
Grease Lightning
This video will have been uploaded 1 year ago when I ride this. Fully vaccinated now, so I can go.

If I put your channel both in text over the video and linking the video in the description. Would you be willing to allow me to use it in a video essay? Brand new creator here. Thanks for your consideration.
Yes. credit to channel and link of video in description is OK. Good luck on your channel.
I can ride this but somehow not fitting the lap bar at ghost rider because my legs sucks
that the whole ride lol
Knott's opened, btw!
This looks so so dreadful, and the voiceover announcements just make me not want to ever go here that little bit more.
never again..
rode this july 1981
1:19 vine boom
if so fun lol
Only at California great America called grease lightning
It was called White Lightning at Carowinds
It doesn’t even count down
Ride it and find out b
They just say set
