Just started a new playthrough where i don't rush the story this time and actually take my time to level my stats, doing all side quests and enjoy all the game has to offer so this is perfect for me as i've just started working on leveling my Axe stat. Appreciating you covering a 7 year old game thats some dedication!
Quite ironic that most of the best equipment in the game is the easiest to get; considering that weaker weapons are harder to aquire because a lot of them you can't buy in the shop or win in the tourney. You have to find them on heavily armored opponents.. which kind of makes the point of having better weapons or even armor mute if you have a lot of money to just buy basically anything/ best equipment you want at even lower mid-game
I have a pro tip for number five without lock picking. Go during the day and just slip behind the guard as he makes his rounds. He will open the door and close it again quickly but you can easily tailgate him inside. The Pirkstein armory is not a restricted area so he won't get mad at you for trespassing. Then just wait for him to leave and you can steal everything in there. Since you are on the inside the door can be opened to get back out without picking it. This is a great way to make a ton of money early game before you have the skills to do it conventionally.
Just a tip if youd rather steal the loot. Level your lockpicking up to level 6 and then acquire the drunk lockpicking perk. Even a savior schnapps has enough alcohol to activate the perk and level 6 is the minimum level for that perk to allow you to lockpick very hard locks
Axes are super under rated. they are a great hybrid weapon. Almost as good as maces against armor, and almost as good as short swords against unarmored opponents.
The axe is sooo underrated! It's better against plate armour than the sword and better against unarmoured opponents than the mace. If I could only use one weapon, it would be the axe. The perfect all-rounder. EDIT: You said the same thing at the end of the video^^
I noticed that even the best axe in game is underpowered compared to piercing shortswords and the cerimonial mace. Would you like to make a top 5 of all the best weapons in KCD?
With these axes your slashes are pumping out blunt and slash damage. Sure the slash is probably not great against armored targets, but the damage is versatile enough to be very useful.
Honestly, might start using axes now... Anyway. Could you maybe make a video showcasing mutt? How to use him, his stats, what you can do with him etc. ?
I cannot pick locks and I don't steal from stores. I pay the iron price for everything I get. Go up to Skalitz and fight bandits every day. Take all their gear. Rinse. Repeat.
So they have the unfortunate position of being not as good against armor as maces and not as good against unarmored people as swords, but you can sharpen an axe yourself at a grindstone, which lets you use the tin-ripper perk, which you can’t do with a mace. If maces could also do that though, then yes axes would probably be the weakest weapon type. Personally I use them late game so I don’t have to switch between using a sword or a mace between who I’m fighting
@@karlwittenburg5868 hmmm make sense but tbh i love swords because i do master strikes easily and i can combo very good when i fought against like a armored dude with a axe the master strike does not hit him it brings him somewhere rather than actually hitting him edit im good with master strikes
@@ahmedfalahy9337 They could make them viable if they were the best options against medium armoured enemies where most of their slash damage still gets through their armour.
Only because warhorse heavily favors swords, axes and maces totally got shafted in this game. The swords in this game might as well be lightsabers, with twice as many combos to boot.
February cannot come fast enough boys
Real
Yeah baaaaaby!!
Yes it can lol! I have to beat the first one

Just make sure you don’t take your time during a timed main quest lol
@@shilopnamreg6468 I learned that shit the hard way. Didn't even know some of them were timed until i failed some😂
I love the immersion and roleplay of using axes, as they for a long time, were the most common weapon to find on a medieval battlefield.
I use axes all the time. I know they aren't everyone's favorite, but i've always liked them.
word, I find all the weapons work imo which is cool, maces the most OP tho for sure
axe have the greatest slash damage
Clicked because the thumbnail's as close as I'm gonna get to a halberd in this game, but now I know what I'm running for my first Hardcore run soon.
good luck on your hardcore run mate

Love the spiked battle axe, it plows through everyone and everything like a breeze
They should add more two handed weapons in the 2nd game

you're one of my favorite youtubers who covers one of my favorite games. keep it up :)
Usually the first weapon i max out in KCD. I just like them.

I'm currently power levelling my axe skill on Bernard. 🤣

As always, super entertaining and useful video. Great work!

Comfort viewing. Cheers!
Great video. I loved this very much.

But only if they check you randomly, and you haven’t killed
Whats that Cuiras
You can escape a guard after pressing r1 if you’re far enough. And no punishment ☝️
Could you do a video on how to increase reputation? (ik how it's just something I'd like covered on yt)
YEET
YOTE
Idk but Axes are like the worst weapon in my opinion

With how the belt is added in KCD2 to allow fast weapon change, axes might fall off in the sequel

I would say first but that’s so un original now
