I've been vegan for two years and it honestly isn't hard at all! There are so many options to replace dairy and meat products that taste better than the real thing. By the way, those marshmallows are AWESOME. A few of my favorite brands for vegan or vegetarian products are Gardein (they make some very tasty burgers), Evol, So Delicious (they have some great ice cream), and Field Roast. And you can obviously never go wrong with just some fruits and vegetables :) I really don't miss out on anything. I wasn't a huge fan of those vegan eggs so if they don't turn out well, don't give up just yet!
I'm going on a year being a Pescatarian. It has definitely helped me eat a lot healthier, my goal is to get to where I won't want or need fish either. So I would say try something similar. Taking baby steps by cutting out one meat at a time worked for me.
TORNADIC ! Yey! I learned a new word! Thanks Tim. Also that storm looked intense! Storms are really nice too look at. Yes Jenn, nature is scary, but it's super cool and beautiful at the same time too! :)
I LOVE the You Are Here mugs from Starbucks! They're so great! I use them for everything, not just coffee! I use them for cereal, soup, noodles, just about anything!
I saw Saturday night live and as soon as y'all started singing that song I couldn't stop laughing ..I was at the gym so I had to like stop going on the elliptical! Too funny.. 5 stars for sure⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😂
this is crazy, I think I will have to move from Seattle to Orlando to get the rain I so love and miss!!! I live in Seattle cause I actually love rain, but y'all are getting way more than we are!!!! ENJOY! love and hugs from Seattle!
LaDolcevita chill out dude. she didn't go on a rant about why to eat meat, it's her choice and many others, if you don't like it then move on. there was zero need to do that especially on here. come on. safe space here.
Fruits, vegetables, and grains are a staple among vegetarian diets, but did you know that millions of animals die just so you can enjoy that piece of bread? Eating foods like grains means destroying ecosystems and all of its inhabitants. It means killing all the little animals, birds, bugs, and microorganisms that live among the fields. Eating meat is fine
LaDolcevita Eating meat doesn't mean I don't like animals, that's just a silly comment! I happen to love eating meat AND I love animals, I didn't go on a rant about veganism did I? Hi! I love your videos ❤ I've been vegan for 6months now, I don't think I could of done it successfully without being a veggie first! It's a big transition to make and you need time to let your taste buds to develop! the best advice I could give you is don't put pressure on yourself to get everything right and listen to what your body wants 😊 xxx
Mediterranean diet is better in my opinion. It cuts red meat and focuses on chicken, fish, and fruits and vegetables with multigrain carbs thrown in. It seems very well rounded to me.
We started with making vegan versions of our favorite foods so we didn't feel like we were "missing out", and have starting eating just more and more fruits, veggies, beans, grains. Pinterest is super helpful along with instagram :)

My best advice is to do what you do for yourself. I am vegan, but it was a personal decision that developed itself in a desire to be healthy. I went from being 230lbs to 185lbs. in a 6 month period and kept it off for a year before going vegetarian ... because "everything is OK in moderation". I learned quickly that eggs and cheese and dairy can help you gain weight and got back up to the 215lbs. mark. In the past 6 months I have made a total conversion to vegan (lifestyle included) and weight about 195 and I am still dropping to my personal fitness goal. You can be unhealthy as a vegan as far as food choices go, but when you get to the moral side of it combined with the health benefits of a plant based Vegan diet, there are a lot of perks. Best gauge to check if you have been conditioned to eat meat is this - if the thought eating a dog grosses you out, or if drinking milk from a cat seems weird to you, somewhere along the road someone told you that it's OK to eat some animals but not others. Only you can choose to experience the moral and health benefits of going vegan.
YAY to the Vegan brother or Sister who sent you guys the Vegan products!!! I Quincy Gaines didn't send it, but I wish I did. Tim and Jenn, trust me, you'll love those products! They are AMAZING!! Going Vegan is easy. Look for transition products. But to help inspire you, look for a Vegan restaurant near you and order food that looks like non vegan stuff you normally eat. When you find Vegan ingredients to replace the animal products you normally eat, transitioning into Veganism becomes really easy. PLUS there are tons of recipes here on UA-cam for both Raw and Cooked Vegan cuisine. All of them are excellent. We've got everything from Vegan Mayo, V-Butter, V-Eggs and even V-Cheese (only eat it as an ingredient). We also have real looking burgers, fishless filets, Chickenless nuggets. You name it. It's all amazing. Have fun with trying it! You'l love it!
I've stopped consuming dairy completely and cut down my consumption of meat and I honestly feel a lot less sluggish. Stopping my consumption of dairy has helped my acne so much.
Ive actually gone vegan and the first thing I cut out was red meat and dairy. I decided to do those because I found I didnt usually eat those products anyways or on a daily basis. Definitely look up some recipes and just more about veganism in general though. When you do cut out meat you have to continue to get protein from somewhere else. I hear a lot of people say its too hard or too expensive but that's not true. It gets expensive when you only buy the "vegan snacks" or "meat alternatives" at the store (which are actually good and most do taste like real meat). Most of being vegan is plant based, so tons of fruits and veggies! But dont cut everything cold turkey, just gradually start taking things away from your diet. Also disclaimer haha Im not an expert on being vegan this is just what I've learned and experienced doing it! Hope this helps (:
Forgot to mention that when I first went vegan, after a few days I noticed my skin became much clearer and I felt more energetic in the morning and didnt have trouble getting out of bed
a good free app for recipes is Forks over knives, l change up some of the ingredients based on my taste. It does take time. I know some doctors and non doctors who eat vegan once or twice a week and the rest of the time they just cut back on how much meat and dairy they have. Personally l started slow, 6 months vegetarian then l went vegan. I'm not a super strict vegan as l know some places you go you can't get soy milk for your tea or coffee or all they have to eat is pancakes or waffles. But at home we can control more of what we eat. Reading some of the comments l almost didn't respond, l don't understand why there has to be so much hate out there when someone is choosing something for themselves and their own bodies. You both have such kind and wonderful hearts, thank-you for choosing to open your home and life up to all of us watching.
Six months or so ago you guys said (maybe just Jenn) that she wanted to try going vegan. Then I sent you all that package with all vegan things, the eggs, marshmallow, jerky, smores, vegan mac & cheese, etc etc. The day you guys opened the box, your first Hello Fresh arrived, haha! There went that idea. oh well, life happens. I'm not vegan but I like to have vegan days and vegan weeks. It's a fun challenge. Love ya'll.
Vegan here!!! Hubby took a month and transitioned kinda like you suggested. I went vegan cold turkey one day! If you guys ever wanted advice, let me know. I'd be more than happy to help as much as I can! And vegan is easier than it's ever been, there's so many replacement you don't need to feel like you're missing out on anything :) Longtime watcher of you guys, we love watching you every night!
What comes to mind is a quote, which read close to the following... Some people are Vegans, some are Vegetarians, some are Pescatarians, while most people in poor Countries are just hungry.
The chest pains are from the yoga! You wouldn't believe how much you were stretching your chest muscles out! That happened to me when I first started it even hits to breathe !
start out trying pescatarian. I was for 5 years and eventually it becomes second nature and so easy. there's such a wide variety of meatless meat options. look into Field Roast and Beyond Meat. neither contain soy. you'll feel super healthy eventually!
We were at the airport during that storm trying to fly back to LA who was having a torrential once in a lifetime storm of our own!! Everyone's flights were delayed, ours by three hours. Most were cancelled, it was quite a memorable fiasco as the end to our disneyworld trip!! Not a great flyer either so I was really freaking out!
That's great you guys are thinking about eating vegan! I am vegetarian and try to eat vegan as often as possible. My advice would be to not start with the "vegan versions of non-vegan things" but rather vegan foods you already know you like - pasta, rice, bread, potatoes and lots of fruits and veggies. They just taste better :) Also, if you're looking for a coffee creamer substitute, soy creamer tastes just the same! (I get mine at whole foods or sometimes can find it at Target). Always love watching y'all!
Just watched that SNL skit and it was hilarious! I can see why you can't get that out of your head. I'm a coffee hound and love big mugs too Jenn! ☕ I don't eat much meat so I could go vegetarian but not vegan. Pescetarian would be better for me. I love fish and seafood too much! 🐟🦀 Hope you feel better Tim!
just know that theres a vegan alternative for everything and a lot of things are vegan without realising (e.g. some oreos), and it fake meats taste incredible when cooked correctly. you can eat as much as you want because it removes a lot of fat by not eating dairy and meat so it's a good option (also saves the environment and animals, obviously). motivation and perseverance is definitely key when doing such a large transition, also do a lot of research of what you can and cant actually eat
You should go to universal this Saturday. Apparently there is a thing in Islands of Adventure where you can meet the actors from the Harry Potter movies.
If you're wanting to clean up your eating I would highly recommend the 21 day fix from beachbody. :) You said you've done insanity and I remember you mentioning it's difficult so I would recommend doing the entire 21 day fix program - diet and exercise. It's 30 mins a day and portion controlled whole foods. My husband I did it together and we lost over 50lbs! 😀😀
The vegan eggs are delicious! Especially if you make an omelet. I recently became a vegetarian and that has been easier than being fully vegan from being a meat eater. I eat mostly vegan at home, but lacto vegetarian when I go out to eat. Do try it and good luck! I feel much better since the change!
I think you guys should try to cut out whatever you can give up. Like, if you cut out beef, then turkey, then chicken, etc. I didn't personally care for the vegan egg, but hopefully you will like it on its own/in something. Also, I would try to focus less on replacing meats/eggs with faux ones, because the faux ones really aren't the same. I think some are good, but it's not the same, and they can be pretty unhealthy. I would try to find new, easy recipes to try out so that you can figure out what kind of stuff is good for your lives! Check out minimalist baker and hot for food! I love the recipes they come up with.
I think in my High School Environmental Science class said that going eating vegan (or vegetarian) at least once a week is a little better for the environment... so yeah. Might be able to help a little bit!
Tim, if you are still hurting or the pain gets real bad in your chest, please go to E.R or Urgent Care. It's better to be safe than sorry. Take it easy.
I think you mean plant-based (vegan means no leather, cruelty-free products only, &c.). Either way, I think the person who made the point about motive was right. If you just want to be healthier/lose weight, you don't have to go plant-based or vegetarian to do that. In fact, I wouldn't recommend it unless you don't particularly like dairy, eggs, or meat or are allergic. Calorie counting + exercise is my favorite method, and my doctor was thrilled with the results. I've been vegetarian, and I (and probably thousands of others) can attest to the fact that simply eliminating animal products isn't a magic pill for health or weight loss. Vegan processed foods come with the same problems as non-vegan, and when you rely on lots of grains/carbs, you run the risk of inviting blood sugar issues. One of my friends actually gained weight going plant-based because she found herself constantly defaulting to her favorite baked bbq lay's potato chips. Someone else mentioned protein and vitamin deficiencies as challenges (I had issues with both). As for the environment/animal welfare, pasture or free-range products are good alternatives, and simply going plant-based a day a week can make a huge difference.
Kali Pappas idk where you got this information from but it's clearly false? Firstly every cell in the body runs on carbs (sugar) so by eating high carb you're fueling your body not causing blood sugar problems(idk where you even heard that). Also I want to point out that a junk food vegan diet is going to give the same results as a junk food animal diet. If you want results like weight loss you must simply be fairly active, eat an abundance of whole plant foods, and do not calorie restrict. A vegan diet is actually great for weight loss because you can eat however much you like of whole plant foods. Fake meats are obviously not included as a staple for everyday and as I have been a vegan for a while now I don't even crave these things anymore. As for protein deficiency, that's laughable. Protein is found in every plant source and so it should be easy to receive enough. You never have to worry about protein as long as you eat enough calories. As for vitamins things like fatty acids can be found in flax seeds and the like. B12 is a big one for some people and almost everyone is deficient in it because it is found in dirt which we would receive from produce if it didn't have to be scourged clean from pesticides. Animals are injected with it but around 40% of the population still does not receive enough. Veganism is the best solution for health and for the planet as animal agriculture is rapidly pushing us toward climate change.
What part of "Vegan processed foods come with the same problems as non-vegan" and "simply eliminating animal products isn't a magic pill for health or weight loss" didn't you read? The reality is (and a lot of people in the comments are proof of this) that a lot of vegans, especially new vegans, rely on "fake" versions of the non-vegan foods they love to survive, which doesn't make a lot of sense if you're going plant-based for health reasons and aren't going to make other lifestyle alterations like portion control and bumping up the exercise. My point is, if going vegan sounds like a great idea in theory but will be impossible for you to practice in a whole and healthy way, then there are other ways to reach certain goals, including weight loss, overall health, and even a better environment. And no, high carb diet warnings are not clearly false - any doctor or nutritionist worth their salt will tell you that high carb diets *can be* be problematic unless you're expending a ton of energy, avoiding processed foods and refined carbs/sugar, and consuming enough fiber. Even FreeLee's massive date shakes, for example, are only suitable for someone who rides a bike long distance (or similar) on the daily. Certainly, whole grains and raw or simply-prepared fruits and the fiber that comes with them are helpful, but only if you're not over consuming - if diabetes runs in your family, or other blood sugar issues affect you, then carbohydrates will naturally be a concern. And if you're post-diabetic like my parents, even whole grains and natural fruits are a concern. Veganism isn't for everyone.
Check your carb facts. Yes your body does need carbs for fuel. The process of converting carbs to fuel breaks them down into sugars which can cause problems with blood sugar. Too many carbs increases your blood sugar too much. Carbs are naturally in most foods, even fresh fruits and veggies so you don't need to eat excessive amounts of carbs unless you are preparing to run a marathon.
Laura Patterson This. No-carb diets are impossible, but there is a method behind low-carb eating. Plant based has its uses, too, but it's easy to fall into the processed grains, salty potato product, and sugar trap.
I'm sorry to hear about you getting hurt Tim :( That sounds really painful and uncomfortable. It's always difficult when you injure your chest/stomach area, because you use your center to move so much. Also to breathe. That's very important. I hope you heal up soon.
As a vegan for almost 2 years, I recommend it. Of course, there are different takes on veganism. Most times I'm a junk food vegan (processed foods mixed with fresh etc) but I feel better about not harming other living creatures. I say give it a try, but figure out your motivation, health, environmental, for the animals.
I'm vegan and I think that's a great idea. Remember that if you eat a whole plant food diet you don't have to portion control and can eat however much you desire! I HIGHLY recommend hot for food blog and channel for a smooth transition. Veganism is the best thing for the animals, your health, and the planet.
I really liked that SNL too! That song was really good and I liked Aziz's intro for the show. Especially the part when he was commenting on George Bush and the generic music they play for Muslims in shows (and what they should play instead). I also died when the bookworm skit played. I'm gonna get that d$$$ bookworm, and noooooo! Not 90's pop culture! Also, hope your chest feels better soon! Loved the slowed-down lightening too, Jenn!
Hi guys! I have been a leeway vegan for almost two years, a pescatarian (only fish) and a vegetarian for over seven years. If would suggest starting out as a vegetarian for some time and then transitioning to being a vegan. I just went to Disney in the beginning of the month and it is nearly impossible to eat vegan there :/ It is a major lifestyle change, and if you do do this, make sure you are eating enough protein! Good luck!
So the Vegan eggs are Plant Based. I understand being vegetarian/vegan and eating vegetables, plants and protein based plants. SoyBean/Tofu is a good source for protein. What I do not understand if someone is vegan/vegetarian, why eat things that are like Non-vegan/vegetarian products like Eggs. Those Vegan eggs are flour and plant based protein with some other natural binders. Modified Cellulose is a wood or cotton Pulp. It just seems to be that if you are going to try or be Vegan/vegetarian then try to have as much unprocessed food as possible instead of food turned into foods that are like Meats, dairy, etc and make them taste like foods that are non-vegan/vegetarian. Very cool that you are going to try though.
Live in Tornado Alley they call it - but luckily the last year or so we have not have as many as we use to - but a few years ago there was a massive F 5 Tornado that traveled thru much of the state - it was very scary watching the news as it was heading north and news cameras caught a glimpse of it and you could see this was a huge powerful very wide funnel and it was heading toward our area - you know you can't stop it and have no idea which direction it might go and if it will stay on the ground or go back up - as it got closer we went to the basement and listened on radio as the power kept going out - hearing the updates of the areas it was hitting - then to hear the local news weatherman say it is headed toward the airport and then in a minute saying good it is gonna miss the airport it is going north of it and knowing WE are north of the airport - what do you mean good - once it was over we came out and tried to contact family it had hit areas our parents lived in - we had spotty cell service but found out from my sis that my parents were fine - we couldn't get thru to them - and my daughter in law got thru to us and so we knew her and grandson were safe and tho my son had probably driven under it or close on the way to work was fine - we took off to find out if my mother in law was ok - cause we couldn't get thru by phone - we couldn't go the quickest way and had to take several routes to find our way around trees and such - got to her house and it was fine but she was gone found out someone had picked her up and took her to a house with a basement and she was fine = -but the city that our parents all lived in a few miles from us hit hard and lots of damage - and my parents who had went to a place they thought would be a safe area and actually ended up close to the tornado ground zero -than there house was - it wasn't until a couple days later when the quick route to his mom's was cleaned up - that I saw from the twisted and snapped off trees that with in a 100 =200 yards from our house the tornado had passed but was going back up off the ground - I had no idea how close - like my parents had come to being hit straight on by that thing - I think there were almost 300 killed by it and a few smaller ones that hit that day --- All this to say that tornado or the possibility of them is very common here but you never get use to them - yeah with hurricanes you get days of warnings and we get the off spins of those up from our coast too - tornadoes like that one they told us for days conditions could be favorable for one but you never know when or if they will come and where they will go
I live on a vegan diet for about 3-5 days in the week for health reasons and I find the easiest way to transition is by never just starting cold turkey (meat joke but also true) you need to try different vegan foods and meal prep items and find which brands you enjoy and which kind of dairy free milk you prefer so that way if or when you decide to become full vegan you already have an arsenal at your disposal. Plus veganism is good for you and the planet so I love that you're thinking about it!! Love you guys!! 🌸
Those vegan eggs are crazy weird. They're pretty cool though. Would love to see you guys try it out. I started as a vegetarian for a little while and then eventually cut out dairy & eggs. It's not as difficult as it sounds. It's a lot of reading ingredients. But you eventually become so used to it that you really don't even have to think into it too much. The most annoying part I'd say is when it comes to going out to eat! There's lots of yummy vegan foods out there though (like the baked ziti I'm eating now mmmmm!) Whole Foods may become your best friend but I've found lots of things I can get at publix too bc I know Whole Foods can be pricey! Been vegan for 7 years now and I still think it's one of the best decisions I've ever made!
YESSSS to vegan days! going vegetarian was the best decision ive ever made in my life, and recently decided to transition vegan. vegan is not easy, but it is definitely worth it in my opinion. hope you guys love it!
It is so comforting to watch the two of you. I feel like you're family almost 💖
I love to watch a good lightning storm...the rain sounds very soothing!!
I was staying at the French Quarter during that crazy storm and holy moly I looked like I had gone swimming after about 10 seconds outside
Wow! Welcome to 'Springtime In Texas' y'all. Excitement coming to a town near you! Very quickly!
Yay! We got a glimpse of us on the mail vlog! We had really bad winds here on Sunday. Glad you guys didn't get any tornados
Yay! You have a podcast! Congrats going to find it right now!

I never miss an episode of SNL. It's always fun to watch. That pizza song is funny but the one that stuck with me was "space pants" lol
Thanks, Jenn!! I went and watched that Pizza Town SNL, and now _I_ can't stop singing it! LOL
TORNADIC ! Yey! I learned a new word! Thanks Tim. Also that storm looked intense! Storms are really nice too look at. Yes Jenn, nature is scary, but it's super cool and beautiful at the same time too! :)
So I just noticed that on the picture for your page you added a halo for Armani. I love that special touch!!
Aziz Ansari did such a great job. Loved him on Parks and Rec (treat yoself!) and his stand up on Netflix is so hilarious and thoughtful!

Also Humans are Omnivores we are supposed to eat meat and vegetables. both are beneficial to us
Thought I was the only person that used the word tornadic. Nice to see there is another. Welcome to the club.
Was watching one of your guys' video from about 2 years ago when I got notified for this one lol :D
By the way, Tim, I am LOVING your hair with the longer sides. Looking good! 👌

Start planning now, Volcano Bay opens May 25th. Going to be busy with Mardi Gras then not much of a break before Volcano Bay.
I live in central Illinois so that weather is so familiar to me. we get some pretty insane storms especially in the spring.
Yes, the Uber skit on snl was hysterical. Tim, love the new podcast!!

I am now singing "baby got back" but making new lyrics about Jen and her giant coffee mugs! lol
I like that fancy little intro graphic.
I HAVE THAT UNIVERSAL YOU WHERE HERE MUG!
I listened to your podcast Tim.x
We are not full vegetarian and Vegan, but we eat that way a lot. Most of our recipes are very yummmmmmy.
Im in the comments of that live mail vlog!!
There were high winds & tornado watches, warnings in my area as well. I also live in Florida just not in Orlando.
Seems like we are always running from crazy tornado weather here in north Alabama.
I don't eat much meat so I could go vegetarian but not vegan. Pescetarian would be better for me. I love fish and seafood too much! 🐟🦀
Hope you feel better Tim!
just know that theres a vegan alternative for everything and a lot of things are vegan without realising (e.g. some oreos), and it fake meats taste incredible when cooked correctly. you can eat as much as you want because it removes a lot of fat by not eating dairy and meat so it's a good option (also saves the environment and animals, obviously). motivation and perseverance is definitely key when doing such a large transition, also do a lot of research of what you can and cant actually eat
Vegan here: A great substitute for eggs is scrambling tofu with nutritional yeast and cumin
You should go to universal this Saturday. Apparently there is a thing in Islands of Adventure where you can meet the actors from the Harry Potter movies.
I have been a vegan. I think Tim, as I did will miss burgers too much. Good Luck!
back yard Twister Attraction!
How can you tell if someone is vegan or vegetarian?
Don't worry, they will tell you.
If you're wanting to clean up your eating I would highly recommend the 21 day fix from beachbody. :)
You said you've done insanity and I remember you mentioning it's difficult so I would recommend doing the entire 21 day fix program - diet and exercise. It's 30 mins a day and portion controlled whole foods. My husband I did it together and we lost over 50lbs! 😀😀
I'm PALEO, a.k.a. Caveman dieter all the way.
Good morning.
Maybe Vegetarian would be a less abrupt option. I'm Vegetarian and frankly I love the good and I feel great!
thanks for the vlog man those tornadoes are some scary things take care see you next time.
I saw myself on the mailvlog! Lol
Dang you guys are so dang likeable!
GREAT JOB
How do you tell if someone is vegan? Don't worry, they'll tell you.
Yep, the same way all meat eaters take pride in eating meat and expect vegans to be silent
Preach it Vicki Lynn!!!
hi Tim and Jenn!
NO STEAK is the Best and bacon
How many of you were waiting for the ring girl to pop out when he showed us the rain
Saw myself in the mail vlog! I'm now famous!!
are you going to put blt podcast on spotify?
Lightning looks great, vegan eggs sound revolting.
Jen you should get whole grain free roam eggs they are super good
Those vegan eggs are crazy weird.
Been vegan for 7 years now and I still think it's one of the best decisions I've ever made!
cool idea but i would miss y'all trying new florida food at parks etc
A song I can't get out of my head is Paris by Chainsmokers I love it so much!!!
You guys remind me of youtubers Simon & Martina
Very fun vlog :)
is the podcast on UA-cam?
I love it
"Nature is scary, YALL"
YESSSS to vegan days! going vegetarian was the best decision ive ever made in my life, and recently decided to transition vegan. vegan is not easy, but it is definitely worth it in my opinion. hope you guys love it!
