  • We do a full review of Kelis Fisher who has committed to UConn in 2025. She seems like a really nice kid with a great handle. She is currently playing at IMG Academy. Will she develop into the point guard or off guard of the future for UConn

    T.y. for this video. I really enjoy this type of video where the personal journey is included in the story. I wish her well in her journey.

      thanks for that. Yep try to put some of that in as more than basketball to the kids lives and not everyone will be a star. But hopefully they are all taking a journey to a better life.

    She sounds like a good kid with a lot of potential. I do agree with you that the real downside being at IMG seems to be the lack of good persistent coaching and a truly competitive atmosphere that high school provides. Signing players as sophomores out of high school is very risky. Ice Brady, Saylor Poffenger, and Andrea Espinoza-Hunter are the high profile high school sophomore signings who failed at UCONN.

      Ice Brady is a freshmen coming off of a serious injury, she has not failed, put this negativity aside and actually read between the lines. There’s still time to develop ice, you cannot decide the future for her, even if the season just started.

      I think IMG is better for a kids their senior year of high school if that is what they want to do. Shade did this. But at the same time understand that IMG might have been better place for Kelis. When I was watching the IMG team i really expected it to be well drilled like the teams at Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Australia but you could tell that was not the case. I have said it before, but I think Ben Symonds made a big mistake leave AIS to go to US and play at Montverde Academy which i outlined in this video. they other big mistake was hiring his brother to be his shooting coach. ua-cam.com/video/NuY_DwcOylU/v-deo.htmlsi=49irxlOS8mweTWoB

      Yep, agree with that. Biggs are usually slow to develop. Freshman year lost to the knee. I think we will get a better picture of what Ice will be next year. The pressure is ramped up on her due to Deberry, Patterson and El Alfy. Not her fault for the injuries - just hope Geno does not crush her spirit.

    Hard for me to comment on this video, seems like a nice kid. From what I see from the video her dribble is a little too high, I need to see her pass the ball with two hands. The guards and coaches for UConn will work with her on that.

    Hope Geno can pick up a couple top ten recruits for 2025: don’t think first two recruits for 25 will turn out to b starters, sorry, mayb as seniors

    Geno, CD, Morgan Valley-and Jamel Eliot will take care of the bad habits. She will be a totally different player

    One thing she has is handle. She's quick and can run the floor. Dont make the mistake and sleep on her.
    She is going to get better with age, time, and playing against better competition. Rank her after her senior year in high school is complete.
    I've seen where some were very high on players who didn't even pan out. This kid does have skills. Here's hoping her game gets better tomorrow than today.

    I thought it was strange Uconn offered her so early. But she seems to be impressing based on reports.
    I do think the 2025 class at UConn looks really weak so far. I hope Geno can pick up a big recruit soon. It’s very quiet on that front right now.

      UConn made a hard bid for Sienna Betts and she chose to follow her sister to UCLA. If you look at 2025 it's full of wings, and UConn doesn't need wings since they're stocked from 2024, and there isn't much else that year that can play the 5. UConn has however made a big push for Vukosa in 2026, and she's had two unofficial visits to UConn already, so on that front it looks good. But have no fear. UConn is taking a good hard look at JUCO Pania Davis, who at the moment is a freshman. At 6'6" she'd be a nice addition for next year. But the truth is, UConn has El Alfy, who has more potential than DeBerry every had, uses her body better at both ends, is a better ball handler, has a better drop step than DeBerry has ever shown, and is a better shooter from the perimeter than any big UConn has had since Stewie. Better, she has a full 4 years left of qualification.

      @@helgar791 i believe uconn needs athleticism. they have a lot of skill players. but a team like south carolina has skill players and athletic players. UConn will continue to not match up well with them unless they address this issue.

    • @helgar791
      @helgar791 8 місяців тому +2

      @@TheDisruptiveOne Wrong. UConn has plenty of athleticism, on the team now and coming in the future. What they lack is size at the 5 and on the wing. But worse is their lack depth because of their constant injuries, as exhibited today. When and if South Carolina has an injury spate half as bad as UConn has had over the course of the last 3 years then we'll see how good a coach Staley is.

      @@helgar791 athletic by big east standards. But not by national standards. I like Ziebell. Really skilled shooter. Imagine her trying to guard a Rivers or Osborne though.

    • @helgar791
      @helgar791 8 місяців тому +1

      @@TheDisruptiveOneI fail to see your point. Geno has won 11 championships and recruited virtually the same type of player for his entire career. The only reason he hasn't won in the last 4 years is because of injury, not through a lack of talent, or athleticism, or a failure in his coach strategies. To the point, he has always had a big 5 and surrounded them with shooters. Because of that he made 11 consecutive final fours, and 20 in total. He only missed last year due to as I said, injuries. Dawn's latest team hasn't won anything yet, neither has River's team. The only two teams UConn and SCar have in common is North Carolina. Dawn struggled against them and this lineup that Geno has now didn't. As for Ziebell, you see her shooting ability, I also see her speed and athleticism. More to the point, which player on Geno's current squad lacks in athleticism? In case you haven't noticed, his current lineup's pace is perhaps, faster than any pace of any playing WCBB right now. When Sara Strong finally signs her LOI will you then talk about her lack of athleticism. Or perhaps when UConn gets a letter from Alexander in 2025 and Robinson (and Vukova) in 2026 what will be your argument then?

    As usual nice take. I've only disagreed with one take by you. Can't remember what it was but I attributed it to the fact that your on the bottom of the planet and you're upside down therefore your blood is running to your head.....LOL!
