I'm born an raised south aussie an haven't actually been surfing, definitely wanted to but never really worked out. Ol' man sold my boards when ever I'd purchase them. The first one I ever owned was giving to me an he sold it for some drugs to this old fella. I told him if you take that board from a kid (I was 11 at the time) it's bad karma.
He ended up dying that weekend, drowned etc never got that board back either.
When we went for a school trip to get into different water sports etc, I never got the chance to give surfin' a go because during the kayaking the first half of the day, I almost drowned when two fellow students capsized me and then I got stuck an struggled to break the surface with their kayaks blocking me off. So I wasn't really in any shape to try afterwards. I've had quite a few bad experiences with the beach including getting stun by blue bottles, bad sunburns (pale af) run ins with less than savoury individuals etc, so I have developed a healthy respect for the natural pitfalls lmao!
Then there were a few other occasions that went south, and I ended up getting more into lacrosse and motorcycles etc, and ended up wandering around. The sad thing is, I've lived in great surfing areas like port lincoln etc and still never got around to it.
I dream about surfing a lot, and it's something I am still interested in. That and sailing.
Anyways, gorgeous vid, was fun to unwind watching this and some of the other vids on youtube.

I've wanted to create a wave spot where there hasn't been by putting in a temporary artificial sand bar model made of concrete or something to see if that would create waves or enhance the shape and size HAHAHA :)
