i apologize for the inactivity, pals! i've been working on this non-stop for nearly two weeks -_-;;
and yes, i'm planning on doing more heathers! :O
some notes:
1. i interpreted the designs/clothing of the characters pretty loosely, meaning that there are some changes. veronica is southeast asian, heatherchan is latina, heathermac is african-american, and heatherduke is east-asian. (everyone else is p white) also veronica looks cute in a tie shutup
2. artistic license also gives me the right to put in as much gay as possible. you can probably tell which pairings i like :3c
3. the original wip was on the ipad, but i decided it would look better via computer/tablet. which means i redrew all those frames. (-ω-、)

I mean, they've been in school for twelve years and counting. A few months is probably pretty soon as far as graduating goes.
I think she means the only have 180 days or approximately 4,320 hours of high-school until they leave.
Compared to 1st or 3rd grade, senior year looks very close.

There is some good in J.D. at the end as he does show remorse for his actions. Most likely Veronica at first wants to believe J.D. is a good person.

and when jd is singing "our love is god" before blowing up, veronica says "say hi to god", letting him know that even after all the bad things he did, she still loves him and that she wishes that he goes to heaven and not hell

I don't really think it's more powerful. It's just much more optimistic. The movie was always meant as a satire of the 80s high school movie clichés, and it did that wonderfully with its sick sense of humor and sarcastic tone. The musical on the other hand plays it more safe due to the time period and suicide jokes not being as funny anymore, having a more "standard" sense of humor (there still are a lot of dark jokes because of the movie it was based on though) and romanticizing Veronica and J.D. a lot more, making them in my opinion a little too sympathetic (they also made Chandler much more like your standard alpha bitch, which the movie was better at as it had a small scene that showed her at her low point, making the death seem more tragic). Both versions are incredible, but I don't think it's fair to say that the musical is more powerful.

Oh, I see. Sorry, I thought it was just another of those tired arguments that the musical is better because it gave everyone more character, while shitting on the movie for its "rushed" scenes, due to not understanding that the movie really wasn't made to have strong characters and be "relatable". I understand why you feel the musical is better, I find both incredible, yet very different experiences. The story on both is the same, but one of the musical's strength is that it isn't really just an adaptation, it's like a retelling with more points of view from different characters.
By the way Lifeboat may be my favorite song of the musical. I adore it. So much emotion in such a short piece.

I love that Veronica has the same body type I have. Short and squishy. People usually draw either thin or fat people which is great too 'cause all body types are friggin beautiful but it's nice to some representation of the middle weight spectrum. (If that makes sense😅)
OK, the very first time I listened to "Beautiful" I didn't even know what "Heathers" is, or that even exist. I loved it, I related to it, it was so promising, even if looked like kinda clishe.

ok so i've watched this animatic twice and your 'freeze your brain' animatic 3 times all in one sitting and...this is honestly some of the best animatic work i've seen. your use of color as symbols is super interesting, i love your unique takes on the character designs (POC HEATHERS AND VERONICA YASSS), and those frames that only last less than a second...sometimes it felt like a legit animation as opposed to an animatic, and it kept me super engaged! needless to say, you've got a new sub. keep it up!!
