I have it and Love it! I own the pre wii u and the after wii u
I just got this but not for the wireless aspect. My wiimote would not work with the original bar. It jumped all over the screen. I got this on eBay for a great price and it is PERFECT. No jumping around for the cursor hand at all. And the wide format makes it so much better.
BTW, I don't know if you know this yet, but the bar is just lights, no data is transferred, hence, there would be no lag.
dude! I have this exact Wii sensor bar. it's super better than original
Where is the follow up video?
Hi Paul, while I did not make up a follow up video I can tell you about my experience using this product for the past 6 years, I think that's enough time to get a gauge of how well it works 😄. Because these sensor bars are essentially infrared lights there was no pairing required to get it working with the Wii U. When comparing its performance to a genuine Wii sensor bar there was no difference, the PowerA bar worked just as well and lasts a pretty long time on its AA batteries. I did play around with the slider bars over the years and I found that this sort of makes a difference in how the Wii remote interacts with the console. This is because the Wiimote gauges how far away it is from the TV by how far apart the lights are. I did not have to adjust the sliders more than half way at some points when I changed around the layout of the room, and the 'play space' where I would interact with the console with the Wii remote was further away from the TV. While I don't play my Wii U much anymore when I break it out during parties with friends for some good old Mario kart or other games I am still surprised to see the batteries still working. My one complaint though: The battery door on the bottom is a little annoying to get on and off. I think my unit may have had its door panel made in correctly in the factory, as it is slightly too wide to slide easily back into place. You kind of have to push it in a bit. But as I mentioned before I found I rarely had to change the batteries thanks to it literally being two infrared lights, and it has an automatic off feature after two hours or 1 hour has passed.
TLDR; works just as well as a genuine sensor bar and while the battery door is annoying you won't find yourself opening it up that often.
Thanks for watching!
So, is this like an xbox one Kinect, to where you can use it for just dance without the remotes?
You still have you use the wii remotes
I don't know how to make it work
It doesn't need to connect to the Wii or WiiU in any way. It just emits two spots of infrared light and the Wiimotes do the rest.
Hope this helps! :)
can you use this on pc?
No this will only work with the Wii and Wii U
Yes you can, wirelessly anyway as the power connector is not standard to a pc. A sensor bar does not need to be connnected to any device and is not actually sensing or accepting any input. It projects infrared that the wiimotes then read their own interaction with and they send that information to the device they are paired to by their bluetooth.
