  • Throughout the United States, Memorial Day weekend is typically one of the first times of the year that tourist railroads will bring out their steam locomotives to run for the holiday weekend. The Black River & Western Railroad, in Hunterdon County, NJ is no exception. On Sunday, May 26, 2019, the railroad trotted out it's 2-8-0 once again to run between the shops and station in Ringoes and the station in Flemington, NJ. Also added on this date for the ALCO locomotive is a short trip over the Alexauken Division to Bowne Station (and just beyond), as the Black River Railroad Historical Trust continues restoration of the line to Lambertville, NJ.
    Enjoy views of the crew setting up and switching with the locomotive in the morning in Ringoes, and then trackside views throughout the day!

      They're not getting their own, they're having a travelling steam locomotive brought in for a couple of weekends later this year.

      Sony Handycam HDR-CX160 for the trackside runby shots, and DJI Osmo+ for the in-cab and morning prep shots. And thank you!

    I loved going there when i was a kid, is 4666 still around?

    • @Bigjimvideo
      @Bigjimvideo  4 роки тому

      No, 4666 is no longer in Ringoes, its owner sent it to Kutztown and to the Allentown & Auburn Railroad - where it now runs once again! ua-cam.com/video/gX5vQy29UeI/v-deo.html

    When #60 was at toad Ln., there is something wrong with the railroad crossing bell sound.
