I’ve been a cabinet and furniture maker for a long time and thought I had skills. Then I started watching your videos. You can sure teach an old man new tricks. I’ve always loved mortise and tenon and timber frame work, but sir you do it at such a higher level I sure would love to come to Canada and spend a week with you. Haven’t been to school in almost 50 years

I hope to someday incorporate mortise and tenon system in my wood works. I make furniture and stuff out of old reclaimed wood. I used to work for a company deconstructing barns in Ohio and Michigan. I was amazed how the people in the those days built these barns with just mortise and tenon and after over 100 years these joints were still as tight as can be and we couldn't pull them apart! Really fascinating! This is when I began my interest in making things out of old reclaimed wood!
You're off the hook. I paused the video when tool wall in frame, and not wood mallet in sight. Let me guess, one of the kids picked it up? Or the Mrs. Grabbed it, and used it, has no idea what you're talking about, and picture of the item doesn't jar her memory? Or, she used it a center piece of a display beside the stairs, to show off to her friends where all the beautiful wood furniture comes from? Wait a minute.!!! There it is on the table.!??? Sorry, I missed the part where the mallet wasn't cutting it for driving those stakes in place... Those things are way too big to be called "dowls"!.
How come when I try this mine looks like a rickety old fence. Can you show some mistakes or bodges just to make the rest of us feel normal 😊 👍👏👍👏 Nice work.
excuse me mister dusty. geniune question what need could you possibly have for a support and joint build this strong. like what was the endgame build on this one lol. coming from a guy who overbuilds everything himself
Great work and wonderfully finished frame but as far as I could see from the video (unless i missed it)this is not draw boring. The holes in the mortice and tenonare purposely misaligned by a few mm and the dowels are tapered on one side only ,thus drawing the 2 parts of the joint tight together.
I was about to be upset that you didn’t show how a drawbore m&t works but we got a glimpse of the offset of the mortise holes. That’s beautiful work, I made a much smaller table base with the same joinery. Had to do mine the hard way, but it was a great workout. 💪
@@Alejandromundial. greetings, friend. It's not the Canada you might remember, especially on the political front. Beautiful country otherwise. I hope we can keep it that way.

He must be the best Wood worker in the Word! This really blows my mind how you can get it soo perfect 😮🤯
Thank you! I still definitely have a lot to learn and there are many very skilled woodworkers out there 😁👍
Practice. To master your skill
I wish you had been my woodshop teacher back in High School 45 years ago.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Your work is so incredible dude. You inspire me. Gonna set up my old shop smith and try my hand at some joinery. So cool.
As per usual, I am amazed at the precision of the fit! I always enjoy watching these videos.

Dude??! Where's your wooden mallet??! Only BodyMan/AutoMechanic/DieselMechanics are allowed to substitute any available object as a hammer or mallet.😂

Extremely accurate, and attention to minute details, then , standing head and shoulders, way above the other crowds
Absolutely beautiful I would love to have a few lessons from this guy. Wouldn't mind some of his tools too🤤
I am envious of wood craftsmen. The only thing I can make with wood is sawdust.
Look mama, no glue, no nails, no screws. Very nice!
That's not coming apart unless someone takes an axe to it... Or removes the dowels, you get my point.
Awesome job your a master
Cutting all those dowels flush probably really made you regret the decision to use them 😂
Whats with all these motorcycle sounds in the background?
As much as I’ve tried, I can’t get my chisels to go that fast, or make that sound.🤔
Fantastic very good BRASIL
Tuyệt vời luôn bạn ơi , ghề làm thợ gỗ rất nhiều điều học hỏi
What's the brand of your hammer your using?
Super travail de charpente👍
Literally sounds like a woodpecker

2:13 well, here we can see good drumming skills as well.
That's massive. What is it going to support?
It's like a miniature Amish barn.
So… are you taking apprentices?

What sort of saw is that at the beginning? It’s like a horizontal table saw?
it is a table / spindle moulder (I am not sure about the english name for it). he simply put a milling head in, that is as thin as a circular saw
