I “felt” it “felt” my “feelings”. This thing has no business in the classroom.
"Me, me, me, ME..... me, me,me..."
So? Feelings are normal. And they said it had nothing to do with what she was doing in the classroom, the administrators said that. This idea that no one is allowed to have any feelings, isn't allowed to have anxiety over criticism in their job and such is ridiculous. And you have to remember, this is in Austin, one of the most liberal areas of Texas.
It's called being an adult... 🤦♂️
Feelings are fine if you control them. She should have known the social media policy; that's what got her in trouble.
Poor Sophia, somebody give her a hug.
Completely immature and unprofessional. I wouldn't want her teaching my kids.
The WORST part about her is that she HASN'T Learned from her MISTAKES and that she is trying to CONVINCE others that what she is doing is RIGHT, when CLEARLY she is WRONG ! ! !
So this "Policy" that she violated is against Federal Law and Unconstitutional. For another I don`t think she did anything wrong.
@@DwayneHarty and what was the "federal law" and what's "Unconstitutional" that''s being violeted ? Because it's not a "free speech" issue, due to the fact she's a FEDERAL/State/Governmental EMPLOYEE and not speaking out as a Private Citizen. ... 1st Amendment applies to everyone (even federal workers). She was speaking in the capacity of a _private person_ when she posted her TikTok video and not as a spokesperson for the school. She now has an actionable case against the school.
This is precisely what is wrong in this country today. Teachers should TEACH. This woman is an activist.
Yes.... I did security briefly in summer, 2016 Orange County FL 🏢 . 1 of the larger school systems in the US. Around 206+ bldgs, campus locations. Now, 2025 more like 250+ The principals, staffs were often inept, hapless. Looking for cheap ways to blame security officers or avoid accountable steps. A extremely large company or organization needs structure, mature adults, uniform SOPs that can be followed. Teachers or staff can't go rogue, let personal beliefs compromise school safety or procedure.
@patrickwillians.....what a stupid thing to say ....🖕😆
When she said "caused me to have anxiety" I realized what the problem is.
Exactly...I thought that same thing...
Yup. People who are easily triggered shouldn't be teachers.
lol, same here.
💯
People think that 'having anxiety' is a get out of jail free card for doing something stupid but in reality everyone gets anxious. The difference is that some folks learn how to deal with it like adults and move on and others... don't.
This is what’s wrong with our kids…..worthless confused teachers!
No, the parents bringing up these children with no respect or basic manners has a lot to do with it. Also, always believing their "little angels" and siding against the teachers when the teachers bring up their kids' misbehavior contributes as well.

She contradicts herself in the interview. She says she was called into the office to discuss issues she was having, but then says when she was fired that they had no problems with her teaching. Sounds like another entitled narcissist to me. Public schools are really messed up.
Yet! Most cannot afford private and even those actually truly trying to make it by skimping by one income can’t afford one income to afford 1 parent home to teach and fully parent.
So we can’t give up on tax paid public school system! She is prime example of all that is wrong with an easy EDU degree and 1/4 -1/3 year off depending on school district. They see it as easy. Educating our future , even 1/2 ass is hard! Get on board or get out!
Now after 3 months in a classroom she says “ as a lobbyist I’m the ONLY 1 in the room repping actual teachers…. “Bless ur lil spoiled therefore entitled lil heart…. U never were & never EVER will b an actual teacher!
Ur a wash out whom expected system to, obviously do ur lesson plans and guidance of children FOR U!
Bless ur heart …. Southern for … well many different things, but in this case “ screw off & stay away from our children” 😮
She had a meeting about her teaching practices. She didn't like how the meeting made her feel. She made a video about her feelings on the meeting. She was fired for the video.
My gawd..felt, feel, feeling..
How this person is even alive is a miracle with all the feelings..
Baby, nobody cares about your feelings, just dont f up the kids.
She doesn't have the emotional and intellectual maturity to teach children. They just did a massive favor for those kids.
She wasn’t fired. She just was let go before she could get tenure. Politics have no part in the classroom. Especially in Elementary school.
She's not a teacher. She's an activist. Hard telling what else she was doing to the kids.
The kids need to shown they have a voice and don't just jump in line because someone says to. Jump in line because you agree with what they are doing. Don't be sheeple, people.
@@geraldross967 They are in third grade. She was an activist consumed by her mental health issues. She was trying to turn them into the Red Guard.
@willman9567 never to young to start. I've been aware since I was a small child because I was paying attention. I never recited the pledge of allegiance of my own accord, no one told me to. I made the correlation what it was saying didn't match how things were going. It is still irrelevant today as well.
@@geraldross967 Not surprised. You were probably one of them destroying cities in 2020. That's not the job of teachers to make fascists. Maybe they should focus on teaching reading and other skills the kids don't know how to do now.
We can only imagine. Right?
Your fired, this isn’t California or New York.
I would be willing to bet that she's one of the many Californians who recently moved from CA to Austin. This town is completely full of those people. They fled the destruction of their own state caused by these types of policies, and yet they're trying to create the same situation here. They either don't understand the concept of cause and effect, or they're actively seeking to bring that same level of destruction to Texas.
I live near, but not in, Austin. Ever since I first moved here quite a few years ago I referred to Austin as "San Francisco in Texas." This is largely because a sizable portion of the San Francisco Bay population has literally relocated to this town.
She's a perfect example of that.
Yeah, I would be interested in knowing where she came from or is she a Texan (yes, it makes a difference). I am glad to see that AISD did the right thing. When I saw the thumbnail to this video, I assumed that a Conservative teacher was canned for her views, after all, it is Austin. Seems I was wrong, it’s the other way around, again, good on AISD.👍

She would have never been hired in NYC ,we have higher standards .Mind you as far as best educated states go NY is #14 as where Texas is #41.
This is the SECOND time I saw this woman in the news and the first time was her going viral for a different TikTok where she criticized her boss after being told not to push her political views on her kids. She's a lying snake and I'm glad she's gone. The school is based.

@ She might, I know I would watch a video about me if it was posted on UA-cam. Regardless, anyone reading may learn from this experience.
She should’ve been fired for allowing her kids to sit during the Pledge of Allegiance. Show some damn respect!!!
@HarrisonBurgeron-h9m well said!!
Thank you!
@HarrisonBurgeron-h9m Exactly...my first thought!
I think teachers are legally required to allow students to sit in public schools, because the First Amendment offers freedom of speech (and a 1943 Supreme Court ruling says that prohibits compelled speech). In some cases, forcing kids to stand violates freedom of religion, as some folks’ religious beliefs are at odds with reciting the Pledge (as some see it as a violation of the Ten Commandments). Current law says the government must show a compelling interest to restrict religious freedom and that the restrictions must be minimal to achieve this end. Protecting folks’ fee fees because they’re easily offended isn’t a compelling interest.
So, legally, she is required to allow them to sit.
@@kevinhull7925 I agree with you. I don’t agree with sitting or showing disrespect towards our country but I do believe in freedom of speech. So if someone wants to disagree then they have that right even though others dislike it.
Good grief....I glanced at her TikTok account and it is even more pitiful with all the videos she has posted since this happened. She's coming across as an attention-seeking, immature crybaby, pretend victim who is eating up all of this ridiculous media coverage. The days of newsworthy news seem to be gone... smh

She picked the wrong place to try that nonsense...... She was teaching things outside the curriculum that was idiotic nonsense that is not legal in Texas.... This school has affluent parents that are as connected as can be.. the "get rid of her" came from high up.
sometimes one has to, but in this case she just doesn't like as sooooo many for decades and especially of late To be responsible!
choosing to sit for pledge of allegiance?.... not answering emails in a timely way. she sounds like exactly the problem with teachers today. doing a tik tok vid chastising your boss..... what is the problem here? she needed to fired.
She fell in line with other "woke" teachers, but OOPS.. she did it in Texas!😂
You know, I am a teacher myself, and have taught more than 10 years now. How is this person, as a "first year teacher" even able to give advise on policy issues? She doesn't have good sense it seems, and doesn't know to separate personal and professional issues. She is not the kind of person that should be teaching children as she is more of an activist than anything. If you get fired in ultra-leftist/liberal Austin, you have to be really extreme.
The funny part is her assertion that she’s the only one that cares to show up at policy mtgs.
She is too self involved to realize the teachers are busy teaching in the middle of a school day when policy mtgs in their city happen.
Excellent comment
This!
The incorrect usage above should read ' advice' not advise. Try a bit harder for the children.
Correct on all counts. She appears to be, in my humble opinion, a self-absorbed, self-important, ignorant and highly arrogant human being.
This woman cannot act like an adult and keep her complaining off of social media. She is not ready to work as an adult and should be fired.
Former principal of 10 years at a large inner-city elementary school district in So Cal, I ran across a few like this - young, entitled and arrogant who think they're god's gift working in a "disadvantaged" area. Most were smart enough to understand a probationary contract means you can be let go pretty much without cause. Can't imagine what she'd be with a permanent contract so good riddance. With the attitude she's already shown, she would have had a hard time being effective. Most teachers new to the profession were amazing. Would take them any day over a crusty, ineffective veteran who no longer cares about kids, can't be fired and is just cashing a paycheck.
I like that one of her complaints was that after firing her they took her badge, locked her out of the apps, and cut her off from communicating with others. Yes, this is what happens when you get fired.
She said she was on administrative leave then.

Great argument
People with anxiety should never be in charge of teaching children. It seems to be counterproductive for both parties.
I never experienced heavy anxiety until I became a teacher. Even under good circumstances, it’s a stressful job. Many teachers have anxiety.
There are many things I don’t like about my employer and I’d love to tell the world what I really think about them but I need to eat and pay rent. If an adult with a college degree cannot figure out not to go on social media and rant about their employer then they need to find out the hard way the difference between how adults behave vs children, most adults at some point may not agree with their employer but they keep it off of social media, so stinking immature 😑

She wants to buck the system and practice “free speech” then she pays the consequences. A bad employee is a bad employee, period.
As a former high school teacher here, this demonstrates a HUGE problem in education now...lack of maturity and common sense of young people coming out of college who the public is expecting to teach their kids. And it doesn't matter if they are from liberal or conservative backgrounds either. Want to get OUTRAGED? Demand that our government make it easier for older, more mature people to get into teaching. There are lots of people in their 50's who could be wonderful teachers, but there is not an easy path to become a teacher. I had to pay $5000 out of my pocket to go through a program. There was no financial aid! And all that to get a temporary teaching job for a year that paid less than half what I used to make. How many people are willing or stupid enough to do what I did?
Well, lot of us are leaving Teaching. We see the hand-writing on the wall. Just too many policies, all the parents get offended over nothing, and not enough money to deal with it.

That doesn’t have anything to do with being woke. You people turn anything God is doing with his people into carnal worldly garbage.
Being woke means understanding what is truly going on around you in a turmoil world with problematic people. Being last at the bottom and not truly understanding why. Everybody waking up every day doing the same routine, believing the same way as everybody else has gotten many caught in a matrix and losing their purpose in life.
