I was a heroin addict and tottally agree with Brittany how it lowers your vibrations. It's not just a physical battle, it's a spiritual battle.
Takes a long time for your brain to heal. You need that dopamine to feel good and get those high vibrations and your brain doesn’t make it anymore after long-term opiate use. Heroin literally changes the structure of the reward system in the brain, so it doesn’t function normally. There’s new treatment now that regenerates the brain giving a lot of addicts a new lease on life. How long have you been sober for?
I watch a lot of podcasts and have followed you for a while, Brittany. This hit me so hard. First off, I’m indigenous (Native American), and the act of not saging your house out of respect is amazing. Not because you can’t, but because many people who do simply buy a sage bundle from a store, not from an indigenous person, or don’t have the sage gifted, is just not proper and not a part of our culture. Additionally, I've always been told by my elders that alcohol is called spirits for the exact reason you mentioned; it's something that can't be simply Googled. That's ancient knowledge at play! Anyways thank you for being you, and if you ever need I’ll send you some sage! ❤️
I was just thinking I need to sage my house, some terrible traumatic things happened here nine months ago, and I haven’t been the same. But I don’t have money to move out because my rent is so high >>the cost-of-living here is outrageous. I did not know this about Sage. But I don’t know any indigenous people in Florida.
She is right about spirits (alcohol) and how it lowers your spiritual shield
I saw and experienced the most dark spiritual activity when I was doing drugs and drinking all the time. I fully believe that drugs and alcohol lower our vibrations and we become more susceptible to darker entities and energies. BTW these friend worsts were insane 😆 please do more of those. I have a few to share.

it depends on what drugs you were doing, and how long you were doing them for. But like heroin and opioids literally change the structure of the brain and the rewards system so that functions correctly.. we need dopamine to feel good and former drug addicts have burnt those receptors. There is some new therapy though that has come out that’s helping a lot of addicts. Have a new lease on life. It might be like a brain surgery or some drugs they have to take. I can’t remember. I saw them 60 minutes.
Please make this episode a series. I have so many stories and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Love the new podcast. You girls are awesome!

Thanks for sharing about the body scan. I had one about a year ago and was told I had a high body fat %. Like you Brit, I was terrified at my results. It was told I have 30%+ body fat when at the time I looked frail and was drinking heavily. I was told I need to eat better and lose a few lbs.. I’m now 11.5 months sober and still continue to eat healthy. It would’ve helped if the medical staff didn’t jump straight to the body fat% correlating to my weight. Happy and much healthier now:) Sending love from Miami!

I know a lot of stock figure girls who are skinny fat. They look super thin, they don’t eat but they also don’t have muscle tone. If you don’t actively work your muscles 💪🏼 and move York body and eat protein to build muscle you will have a higher body fat percentage.

Losing your first friend is so traumatic haha. My best friend befriended me at the time to sleep with my husband. She ended up getting what she wanted and I divorced my ex & I cut her out of my life completely. This was 7 years ago and it hurt so so much. Since then tho it has been easier to let go of friendships that are toxic

This is my favorite podcast!!!
I live by a historic district in Maryland and the whole town is very haunted. Its called Old Town Ellicott City. It was founded in 1791.. Anyway one who lives there and works there has experienced a ghost story in some way shape or form in particular one bar named the judge's bench was so haunted that every Halloween a ghost hunter company comes and explores the history and stories of this bar. I personally experienced more than a few incidents myself.. The place is nuts.. Crazy stuff

This was so good. I have too many comments, as usual. OMG that Layered Lasagna Story reminds me COLLECTIVELY of all of my female friendships in high school & college with MULTIPLE PEOPLE. Holy cow, what a nightmare! Brittany F is correct about spirits being spirits. I will leave that there.Weight issues - I tell all women to please get their thyroid checked. I'm gonna be 57 this summer. I was a skinny kid/skinny person for most of my life - 20s, 30s, 40s. Gained 10 pounds a decade. Started at 120 lbs so count up. At 50, hit 150 & figured "I'm tall." Once I hit 165 lbs, I got the weight watchers app, I joined an online aerobic style workout program, I have had a treadmill. NOTHING. After a lot of hassle, did find out it was Hashimoto's thyroiditis aka hypothyroidism so between the medication & the elimination diet (I avoid gluten, soy, cheese, processed anything...) I got back to my old self again. But now I have to exercise because I'm older, I feel freaking rickety AF & weight on/weight off isn't kind to the body skin. Brittany & Brittany: you will enjoy walking together - it's great for the state of mind & great exercise! It's always such a great pleasure to see the both of you! xx
So glad you got to the root of it. I’ve had everything checked and the only thing that’s an issue for my weight is my PCOS
@BrittanyFurlan looks like exercise is your best option keep it low key like yoga, light cardio. No expert but I had all the ob/gyn issues ablazed when I was 40. I don't think that would do you any good besides it will stop your periods. I don't have uterus & tubes but ovaries stayed for some reason. I don't have kids so not sure how that got decided/I was only interested in the end result. Im sure you will find the right MD with the right therapy for you. Keep praying on it.

I am writing to you re: What Brittany F was saying about the spiritual consequences of alcohol, she's right on the money re: attracting lower entities/ inhabiting bodies that are not mentally present. That is indeed one reason why it is called "Spirits" as well as becoming a ghost of one's self. The name Alcohol comes from Algol - meaning out of your head. Plus I've always had bigger natural boobs and smaller waist so I understand the frustration that you get when people think you're had inplants when you haven't.

I have really low body fat for a woman (I’m an avid runner) which can also be quite dangerous because I didn’t get my period for many years in my 30s and it can also lead to osteoporosis osteopenia bone loss to floss, etc. your hair falling out hypothyroidism… But I know plenty of girls that look like stick figures that are skinny fat. They don’t eat but they also have no muscle tone and as soon as they get pregnant, they blow the fuck up!
Body Mass Index (BFI) can give some super %&@!=# up results also. Our little girl is overweight according to BMI, but she takes dance 12 hrs a week and does weights, so no kidding her weight is high compared to how tall she is! She's literally super dense.
Oh, and if you have really high bone density you'll get insane health results from some of these simple math numbers.
