I own the eufy S1 Pro. It's not the best at edge cleaning, not the best at deep carpet cleaning BUT it's the BEST at actually mopping and cleaning your floor. These robot vacuums shouldn't be expected to perfectly clean your house. They should help you do less work. I believe that the eufy S1 Pro is the best at doing that. What is so great about reaching up to the edge with the mop if the mop is saturated with dirt, sauce and debris? If you have mostly hard floors in your house just get the eufy S1 Pro
You are the only in the tests to have highlighted the big noise of the Drime and I can't use my x30 at night. Congratulations for your impartiality and greetings from Italy
Great and thorough test! Something that puzzles me is how spilled liquid is actually handled by all these robots. Is the vacuum mode also on when mopping? That would mean liquid is also sucked up in the vacuum section, no? And the side brushes always get dirty because they're the first thing that hit the liquid and need to be cleaned manually after vacuuming when liquid spill is involved. Does this in essence mean that the main use of the vacuum mops is when there's no liquid spill?
Interesting idea! Actually, I already know quite a bit about what's coming next year because I've been briefed, however I can't reveal the info until the embargos for each robot is lifted. I will be covering CES with at least 2 videos from the show starting around January 6.
One of the most unbiased comparisons I've seen. Excellent job, spot on and practically applicable, unlike other "lab" channels. I want to mention that I noticed you have the older Eufy S1 pro model, the newer hardware version has improved under-sensors and potentially edge cleaning, and the newer base has a re-designed airflow which significantly reduced the noise while improving dust bin cleaning. Also, I don't think that the access to video should be included in the scoring, since most security sensitive people see this as a big advantage to the Eufy and taking 5 whole points from the S1 pro in such a close scoring was not fair to that model. I know it was high on privacy but still that's 5 points off for a feature unrelated to a vacuum functionality in any way.
i am using the switchbot s10 and i am very happy with it, although the avoidance algorithm and the app and its options could be improved. i have a request, all the robots have their proprietary cleaning fluid, could you guys break down for us what matters, and what alternatives can be considered?
Amazing review. I wish I saw this before Black Friday. Also, I suggest doing the similar video for mid level and low end vaccumes as well. Amazing video. Thank you.
Would be interesting to re-do this test with the latest and greatest; the curv, x50, flow and roborock arm model. I wish that dreame would come out with on-board tanks for dirty water and a roller type mop like the flow
The Roborock Saros Z70 should be out before July. The new X50 has onboard clean water tank but not dirty water. I'm going to be reviewing it in the next week or so. We'll do another robot showdown in a few months when more of the newer robots are available. They are all getting very, very good.
I think you guys should a video testing the exhaust air filtration. This topic never gets discussed when comparing robo vacs on any channel! But is highly advertised with high end stick vacuum comparisons.
@vacuumnerds did you update firmware on each of the vacuums? I know with the eufy s1 pro that updated firmware makes it much less conversative with obstacle avoidance. Which might improve it quite a fair bit in all of your tests with edge and corner performance and navigation
Sorry bother you . After seeing your outstading video , I am really interested in buying eufy S1 . However , compared to other robot vacuum , eufy s1 vacuum featuring only 8000 pa suction power ,which is relatively lower. On the other hand, Narwal Freo Z ultraI and Dreame X40 Ultra are equipped with 12000Pa suction power. Even, Roborock QRevo Curv has 18500Pa suction power. Does eufy s1 cleaning ability may be way lower than other machine which has better sunction power?
For the Eufy, how come you did not try the Free Mode or Medium mode, as mine is pretty balanced cleaning around table legs on Medium mode. Regardless, great video, and reinforced why we went with the Eufy (mopping ability).
I am currently considering the QRevo Master or Dreame L40 ultra. Both are midrange robots as I understand. It's pity none of them got into this list. Have you had a chance to have a look at these models? I am more or less inclined to get the QRevo Master, but still a bit unsure.
@ I’ve seen reviews that the hard floor pickup ability is affected by using the Tri-cut brush over the stock. I know the tri-cut brush is superior for pet hair though.
14:46 you should have tried the edge pickup test on carpet as well. The X40’s side brush shuts off on carpet for some reason. So it wouldn’t be able to get to the edge at all. It blows my mind that it doesn’t let you turn the side brush on for carpets and is a huge miss imo. Many reviewers tend to overlook this specific need but for those of us with fully carpeted floors, we require it.
Not in this test which is odd, because in previous tests some of the robots did activate. I’m not sure why they all failed. Maybe the mess on the floor needed to be dried on?
I've been using the Roborock Qrevo Curve for 2 weeks now and already experienced several times the robot deciding to re-mop again the last cleaned area even without the soya sauce 😅. Strange it didn't do it in your test (if that feature was really enabled in the app).. 🤷
I have to say, I think Narwal shoukd have done a bit better, though I'm not saying that to say you guys were biased against it. The freo mode in my experience will keep mopping until the floor is fully clean, so if that didn't happen in your test, then I don't think your test is accurate. Also you guys didn't really discuss how the narwal does by far the most to ensure proper hygiene, which is very important. Finally, the freo mode is the only one outside of eufy that is able to oroperly handle wet messes, which is again very important. Again, I respect your results, I just think your testing and rankings are a bit flawed.
Appreciate the comment. Freo mode didn't do a second pass on the soy sauce. None of the other robots figured out to do a second pass either in their AI modes. Not sure why. Maybe the area was too small? We'll test this again in future videos.
I cannot decide what to choose. Dreame X40 Ultra which can be buy for ~$940 now in Czech Republic or Roborock Qrevo Curv. We have flat 84sqm. We have combination of carpets and hard floors (kitchen+lobby). We don't have pets, but my wife has long hair. My favorit was X40 with TriCut brush. I like the swing arms feature, option to left mopping pads in the dock and just vacume the flat, or just mop.But now I read a review where was mentioned low suction power of the docking station which may cause poor emptiing of bin in the robot. Qrevo should be technically little better than X40, but X40 outperform Qrevo in suction power. Dreame also have poor review of the Android App. Intergration with the Google home is a must. Mopping is equaly important for me as vacuming of the carpets. I'm despred, because I really don't want to spend my money for expensive device and then be disapointed.
The J20 is a good offering, but we wanted to limit the finalists to a smaller group of what we think are the best robots on the market, and not have an even longer video.
While the qrevo curve seems like it has some nice features it is surprising that it keeps “winning” on multiple channels as it seems like it has a few short comings. Namely obstacle avoidance. At this price point it doesn’t seem acceptable to run over pet waste I’ve seen this happen over multiple tests. It is currently the most one of the most expensive vacuum robots and has arguably the worst obstacle avoidance out of any of the top robots. In real life that vacuum would be going in the trash after running over feces.
@@vacuumnerdsI think so, at the end of the day my use of the robotic vacuum is to set it at designated times and let it make my home clean. If it runs over things, gets stuck and doesn't finish a cleaning job, it sucks..

I have the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Auto Refill & Empty. The damn thing is flat out amazing. I cannot recommend it enough (ON SALE!). It is very expensive, which is the only bad thing I can say about it. I almost got the Curve b/c of the mopping and the anti tangle brush rollers, but without auto refill and empty I couldn't do it. Thankfully, the S8 MaxV Ultra has been so amazing that while it might not be perfect, it is perfect for my family at the moment. I will say that no Robot Vacuum is perfect for cleaning 3600SQ FT on a single floor. That needs to be addressed.
@@davoncci the curve? It does not currently have this option. I think the option you’re thinking of is the ability to refill the robot from the bases pre-filled tank. The S8 Max V ultra auto refill and empty has a hard plumbed water line and drain line. That means you never refill the water tank for the base nor do you have to dump the base’s dirty water as it drains on its own.
Narwal Z is bad because it has NO internal water tank for the mop. It has to go back and fourth over and over again from the base to wet the mop. Don’t buy it.
Its not bad! It's good, when you mannualy mop your flor - do you just spray some water on floor during mopping or rewash after some m²? I habe x40 and Z, i assure you that Z is way better in mopping and x40 in carpet.

The S8 is a great robot. I’ve had this one for about a year and it just works.
Hi. Could you explain the auto refill and auto empty? I thought both robots had that.
It does take longer to mop a large room or floor because there is no tank, but personally, it doesn't matter to me how long a robot takes.
@ More time means more noise and annoyance plus it wears on the robot more. I would definitely pass on this unit.
@@vacuumnerds The biggest problem is that it goes through its base station tanks quite fast
@Tothefloor while mopping there is almost no sound.
No ecovacs made the list?
As we explained at the beginning, we weren’t able to get a flagship ecovacs in time for this test. We will include them in a future comparison because they have some excellent products.
Huh … why didn't they run the Narwal Freo Z Ultra with its baseboard brush installed?
It brushes against the baseboard, not the floor. It doesn't improve pickup.
