Dragon's Dogma 2 Situation is AWFUL (Microtransactions, Negative Steam Reviews & Poor Performance)

- Опубліковано 21 бер 2024
- So Dragon’s Dogma 2 finally released today, with many fans waiting over 10 years for a sequel to their beloved DD1. And unfortunately, the launch is a complete and utter dumpster fire. The game is having a lot of issues. Poor performance, missing quality of life features, and a list of microtransactions bigger than your Mom’s body count has led to Dragon’s Dogma 2 getting mostly negative reviews on Steam as of this recording.

Lol you don't need to spend 2$ it's given for free in the game. All the stuff is in the game rampantly. You guys are hilarious. Ignorant video
Also your cpu is trash, that's why your fps is bad lol. It's not even min spec for the game
Every microtransaction is available in game. It's a stupid and predatory move by Capcom but stop spreading misinformation.
No you didn't do any research All those items you're bitching about you can get them in game without spending real money
@@coltonwiley359buddy you literally can't restart the game and make a new character without spending 2 dollars idk what you're talking about and I have a 3090 and every other bit of my computer is just as good. My game is also in an SSD and I have shit frames in certain areas. It's just unacceptable and pathetic micro transactions that aren't purely just cosmetic but almost pay to win or roadblocks like not being able to make a new character with our spending irl money when you already spent 70 just for the game is just sad
And their takeaway from this will be "Huh... I guess fans aren't as interested in this franchise as we thought."
Right?! It couldn't possibly be the company's problem; must be something wrong with the customer.
Same thing for Switch players, gives crappy "cloud" version of a game, doesn't sell well and assume they're not interested.
Exactly. Next, they'll fire all the developers while retaining the executives that made these decisions.
That's the absolute worst part :(
They’re optional
For fucks sake Capcom you always have to do something stupid

Easy there buddy, Capcom have been killing it in recent years and arguably have one of the best in house engines in the business. These guys got nominated for GOTY for a remake of a 20 year old game last year and you're lumping them in with EA and Ubisoft.
@@gnucompiler Nah, after DD2 they are definitely on that level. If their godlike engine is so good, I wonder why they can't even get a PS5 to play it at a steady 30 and ports to PC this badly. @@wyrm2970Never said you couldn't enjoy the game without purchasing anything, but did you watch the video? All those issues makes the game less enjoyable for others. Let''s face it, video game companies nowadays are just greedy.
Yes I certainly do! The game was yours, you bought it and could save, and remake your characters as much as your heart desired. Happy days.
Hey, just so you all know, the corporations that own the franchise's of all of these video games are no better than the corporations telling us to eat the cereal they hiked the price by 30% on just before telling you to buy serial for food instead of real food because of inflation that was CAUSED BY THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE! This is another symptom of that same type of greed.
They all go to the same business conferences about synergizing maximum profit, so not surprising.
it's true. but you'll still have the same peasant-brains sucking off The Boot so hard they can feel it in their stomach. for some reason "corpos ain't your friends" just doesn't seem to stick.
CAPCOM really said "Let's try the 'ruin our reputation speedrun' any percent"
Again?
I think that those that complained about those "microtransaction" are an incredibly minimal percentage of players, probably people that do know nothing about the first game, played less than 5 hours on the new one and think that microtransactions are evil only hearing or reading the word, but dd2's microtransactions are all freely obtainable in game
@@Herdur96It is an objectively predatory feature. It's a single player game. It doesn't cost that much either given how much gold you can gain with little to no effort. Same applies for any other microtransaction offered. They’ve always been Crapcom, they added a MTX shop to resident evil 4 after its release. Pretty much all modern Capcom games have MTX. They add DRM to old games. Weird that Dogma is being singled out.

Why almost every major game company wants to fuck the gamer?
Because gamers keep allowing it and giving them money
greed and gamers being weak to say no
@@marcedorestewe can’t victim blame here, companies would and have done so regardless and it’s spread to lovable series too now.
Because the investors and shareholders of said companies demand that the bottom line is constantly raising. And said companies cave to it. (Not to mention ESG funds) And too many gamers will say, "fine, whatever..."
This practice won't stop until that vast majority of gamers tell the industry to f*ck off and stop giving them money to the point where it hurts them financially, and they either fix it and do it right or go bankrupt.
Larian is a good company, fortunately. Fromsoft are legit.
The art of metamorphosis can be bought in game for 500 rift crystals. I am about 15-20 hours in and i have well over 2000 rift crystals not counting what i have spent.
Ofc it can, but if they told everyone that. They wouldn't have a clipbait video for views on a shit channel.
I didn't even notice there was an online store before this video. Just started the game and went. But all the microtransactions are for fairly common items you get without much difficulty. Wakestones are abundant. Probably the worst is the appearance changer, but that only costs 25,000 gold or 500 rift tokens in game. Got no reason to pay real money for them.
Cosmetic Microtransactions in single player games is ridiculous. This isnt fucking build a bear.
Wait, it’s cosmetic micro transactions? This what everyone crying about??
And it isn't just cosmetic items either. You can purchase rift crystals - which allow you to hire higher level pawns, which makes combat easier. You can also buy wakestones which you can use to revive yourself if you die in battle - thus avoiding a game over.

Street fighter is a total different animal. They've been doing that in street fighter for a decade plus it's extra DLC Not pay to win.
Yeah, but this is sth else entirely. I don't think I've ever even heard of a game which doesn't allow multiple playthroughs. The performance is one terrible thing, at least that might get fixed at some point. Running Denuvo is awful, but it happens sometimes, I GUESS. Not the worst thing possible, I GUESS. But the microtransactions and no "honest" way of starting a new savefile are two decisions that are inexcusable, as it's literally creating problems to sell solutions. It's deliberately hurting the player in order to extort money out of them.
@yvaskhmir oh yea, good point actually. That's a pure scum move. Forgot that
@yvaskhmir and the dragons dogma community is tight. We've all gone through the first game multiple times when nobody even knew about it. WE made the game a cult classic.
@@kennykij1 Tbh, I've not played the original (just not my kind of game). I'm mostly mad out of principle, because this is abhorent, malicious greed.
At this point, when the game gets inevitably leaked for piracy, along with good old Cheat Engine, that will be the hands down best version of the product. For free, without Denuvo, without microtransactions, with the ability of starting over whenever you want, because for cracked versions everything is stored locally and no one can stop you from erasing your progress or backing it up and storing it elsewhere to effectively have multiple savefiles.
Which's also sth that shouldn't even be legal. Making a new savefile is just modifying files on your device. Trying to prevent that shouldn't be legal.
So how does this "no new game" thing work? I have to finish the game in order to start a new playthrough? What if I can't finish it because I get stuck and I'd like to try again from the beginning with a different character and pawns? What if I don't want to finish the story at all but I'd like to play the side content again?

Nope, you can only translate one Arisen and one pawn from there.
Big dan these mtx's are nothing and you can start a new game, but its a process. Turn off cloud saves for the character creater and dd2 and delete the file then start a new game.
There is a workaround on Steam for the 1 character only problem.
you need to deactivate the cloud save for the game and then locate your savegame in steam under userdata and the game id number, save it to somewhere else and clear the folder and you can do a new char, but make sure the cloud option gets deactivated in steam for the game, otherwise it will sync up and get the old save from the cloud reapplied.
You missed something even more fucked up, that makes the single save file thing even worse. The Dragonsplague that your pawns can get. If this hits the final stage (triggers when you rest), your pawns kill everyone around you. There is a video of this in the first main city and a ton of vendors and important quest NPCs are dead. If you don't have the rare items needed to revive them all within three in game days(there is an infinite revive item at the and of an obscurely difficult quest chain) then those NPCs are just dead forever. If you do notice that a pawn has this plague before it goes nuclear, you can dismiss them. However, if it is your main pawn then you're kind of fucked. Your main pawn gets cured when another player hires your pawn in their game, so random chance. The only sure fire way to avoid your main pawn going crazy is to create a non-inn rest exit save (as resting triggers the final plague stage) and just stop playing the game. When you come back, if your pawn is like "hey I got hired here's some stuff" then you're good. If not, quit and wait some more. Total horseshit.

@@comyuse9103 I didn't hear anything that sounded like a like though... If you've played the first one, 2 will likely have the same horrible drop rate for Rift Crystals for these things. The missing New Game option is clearly a stupid decision when 1 had it as any game should. Port Crystals were limited in 1 to keep some level of travel a necessity, and you couldn't buy them. With regards to Wakestones, you could only get them easily during Post-Game if you didn't rely on farming cheats/tricks, same with RC and gold. You also had to deal with favorite gifts per NPC if you liked dealing with the affinity system, likely to unlock the NPC escort quest for specific rewards. They basically copy the last game and paste it in new game engine.
When i first heard it was one save only i assumed it was the first game, but regardless of microtransactions. Not being able to delete my save is insane.
You can though.
The weird part is that the microtransactions don't even make any sense. Like, you get all of this stuff without even trying while just playing the game, and none of these features are exclusive to the cash shop, or even the rift crystal vendor.
You can just use gold to edit your character, it's the exact same as in Dragon's dogma 1, and you can buy all of this stuff with in-game.
The microtransactions are completely worthless. It's the exact same thing as selling red orbs in DMC5. All it does is make them look bad.

I think you're not supposed to spend that money. Its part of the game to play within the restrictions.
its for the japanese market who dont have time
Its the same stuff re4 remake did. I think people just didnt care re4 did it because it was a remake of their fav game. Re4 had 27 small DLC stuff that was earnable in game too
That's because the micro transactions are mostly deluxe edition rewards
