hey y'all, some of you have pointed out that my most-used blush, Wet n' Wild Apri-cot in the Middle, is missing from this video! That's because it's a depotted single. But I really wish I had included it in this ranking (I just forgot because it's in a magnetic palette). If I had included it, I'm pretty confident that it would have come FIRST. It's lighter than the Lancome blush so much easier to wear with anything, it's slightly sheeny, it's just perfect! And my other magnetic single blush, Ofra's Winter Rose Glow, would probably have come LAST. I never use it.
@@sylviemariehebert9758 I can't find it anymore. I think they replaced it with "Keep It Peachy." I am fair complected and Apricot in the Middle was perfect for me - a combination of blush with a little bronze effect which is great because I am too fair to wear bronzer. Keep it Peachy is ok, but it is too bright for me.
You're one of the few, perhaps ONLY beauty UA-camrs I've ever seen who truly treasures their makeup, and not in an, "OMG, I'M OBSESSED, YOU NEED THIS PRODUCT" kind of way. I don't think that's genuine anyway. You have a realistic amount of makeup as a relatable, normal makeup lover, not an expansive wasteland full of products you never touch and have forgotten about. I get that many UA-camrs review products for a living and/or are makeup artists, but that's not most of us. You have mindfully and lovingly curated a collection that brings you a lot of joy, and I love that and needed to see it. Your relationship with makeup is the one I'd like to have. Maybe it partly stems from our not having been brought up with luxury items, but your description of how beautiful things make you feel really strikes a chord with me.
I actually prefer a stick over a pot for cream products. I'm also a multiple blushes at once girl, which is why I love palettes for powder blushes. I also have the NARSissist Unfiltered, but I have Unfiltered II, which is the cool-tone pink one. It's interesting to see where our preferences differ!
I’m a blush freak, but lately I haven’t been wearing blush (Escandalo!) instead I’ve been layering and buffing different depths of bronzers and contour and I’ve been super digging the effect. Especially with the NYX blush in Taupe as my darkest shade. 😻. Where is WnW Apricot in the middle?!?!? Did you finally finish it? It had a huge pan forever.
it's depotted so it's now a magnetic single, but I REALLY wish I had thought to include my single blushes in this ranking! I'll pin a comment about that in a sec.
I'd like to get a lighter, slightly pink-er blush someday in order to create a gradient. Maybe in a cream formula so I can blend the other shade on top. My usual M.O. is to layer a bit of my highlight over the top 2/3 of my blush. I like the blushy tone peeking through the sheer wash of highlight. My usual combo is e.l.f. "Mellow Mauve" & Wet n' Wild "Blossom Glow" [or the champagne eyeshadow in my Covergirl TruNaked Nudes palette].
In watching, I feel like you put a lot of pressure on yourself to have a perfect reason why you like something more than another; sometimes you just *do*. Do you receive a lot of backlash from these videos with people demanding why something ranked why it did? Do you feel guilty if a subscriber gift doesn't 'rank' as high? I've noticed Samantha March is just as nervous and quick to justify her reasoning, even if the truth is it's arbitrary. I'm just wondering the sort of feedback y'all receive.
on youtube in general the intense scrutiny causes us to feel like everything needs to be double-triple-extra explained (for example, here I am in this very moment, in this very comment, explaining my style of reasoning in these videos, LOL!). But I actually don't believe any of my feelings towards my belongings are arbitrary, and I enjoy trying to dig out every single reason why I like or don't like something; to me, that's the whole point of a ranking video. I didn't feel nervous or guilty when I filmed this, just trying to be thorough and make good content.
@@HannahLouisePoston I mean this in a kindest possible way - I think the OP is saying these preferences are arbitrary because most people are not THAT emotionally involved with their make up. The way you talk about it can come across as a bit over-involved with what are ultimately just objects. Sure we use make up to do something fun and express our creative streaks and it brings us joy so on. But having such a gradation of complex and subtle feelings about a few different shades of blush does come across as a bit misplaced - we as viewers sometimes perceive it as forced or fake because we cannot identify with it, but if these feelings are true to you then I'm almost a little bit worried how healthy that is. I really am struggling to identify with having deep complex feelings about some powders, no matter how pretty they are. Perhaps you can make a video talking about why you have such almost philosophical connection with objects, I think it's pretty unusual to see.
Hannah: elegant, 1 blush per compact, efficient, graceful Me: Meanwhile, I am over here layering 3 blushes in different planes of my cheeks 😂 all the time. That aside, I enjoy hearing your perspective on makeup. At this stage in my makeup life, I have yet to find my solo perfect blush. But so far, I’ve found that light layers of different blushes help train my eyes to recognize what I truly like to see on my cheeks. I also adore the act of putting on blush. The way that the softness of the brush touches my cheeks with a soft blush color too brings me joy and a performative sense of taking care of myself, like I accomplished more than the minimum grooming required to keep me clean and healthy. One day, I will find the amalgamation of all the separate colors I currently layer in one compact. I really like the way you described why you ranked the Lancome blush first and it got me thinking how bothersome it would be for me to confine myself to layering my blushes. That sometimes, I just need one blush to work on its own. ☺️
I just decluttered my blushes and blush palettes and depotted all the ones I kept into a magnetic palette, except the one I always take with me on the go, my beloved Kosas powder blush and highlight duo in Longitude Zero. Loved this video ❤
Considering how much you've come to love the Glossier Cloud Paint, do you think you will actually repurchase once you've finished it? Is it prized enough that it is worth spending your budget on in order to ensure you continue to have it? I'm not sure if any of the Colourpop/YesStyle cream blushes are comparable & could create the same effect, thus negating the desire to reacquire it in the near future. I'm also Team Single Blushes! My two blushes are Wet n' Wild "Apricot in the Middle" [even before I found your channel!] & e.l.f. "Mellow Mauve". The e.l.f. blush is my perfect everyday shade, with a beautiful sheen that isn't too intense. And for $3, it has served me well! "Apricot" is wonderful for days where I don't feel like wearing highlight & I want some subtle golden warmth on my skin [though I need more coverage because it is too close to my natural ruddiness that it looks overly undone]. Sometimes, I just use my Wet n' Wild contour as blush because it pulls a bit reddish/rosy on me & is akin to Benefit "Dallas"! I'd like to find a cream blush in a less muted shade at some point, for days where my skin is looking a bit dull. I loooove the #glossallacross look.
@@mollya8230 The shade in the "Dulce de Leche" Contouring Palette. It just looks like it _on me,_ but not at all in the pan & not on most people. It just seems to interact with my skin tone in a peculiar fashion! I found it strange, but it's a nice look.
I'm generally not one to repurchase color cosmetics. Even if something is my all-time favorite, if I manage to use it ALL the way up, I probably feel like I've gotten my fill by the end of it.
@@HannahLouisePoston Yeah, I feel about the same. More utilitarian items [skincare, concealer, brow products, primer] are things I'm inclined to repurchase -- if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Unless you feel like living on the edge, hahah. 😉
I'm so glad you posted about Miel Glace on Instagram. I've had it for a long time, and sadly it was being neglected, but it's the perfect easy blush, and it's very much what I'm wanting as we move into Autumn here in the Midwest
I think you should try experimenting building different “blush looks” with your cheek palettes too! I think layering a more neutral or lighter shade over a larger area and then a brighter shade on a more concentrated area like the apple of the cheek looks even more fresh and gives a lot of dimension.
I have the same feeling as you,I have single blushes, and a few blushpallets, but my prefference Goes always to my single ones, and I realy love my blushpallets, but sometimes,I find it harder to choose which blush to use when I choose for a blushpallets,I start doubting which colour blush matches best with the look I have that day. When I choose for a single blush I always had in my mind the look I wanted to do,and finish of with a blush,if I choose for a pallet I also have in my mind which look I want to do,and which colour blush I want to use to finish of my look, but when the moment is there,I start doubting,if I should use the colour that I had in my mind,or is another colour a better option, mostly I end up using another blush, than I planned to with a blushpallet. The best option for me would be if every blushpallet, was packaged in different single blushes, because I love all colours which are in my blushpallets. Each colour is beautifull in his own way,and can make a make-up look give the finishing touch, but depending on the colour I choose to use,it gives another finish.I own a few blushpallets where I didn’t love one or two colours in that pallet, and I get those colours out of the pallet, because I use a pallet less,if it has a few colours that I don’t love,or don’t match my skintone well.Blushes are a piece of make-up,that Goes a long way,and I know that I switch sometimes with the colours I love,I mostly use in wintertime other colour blushes than in summertime, but they are realy never ending, they are for many years in my assortment, but I only apply blush once a day, just like the rest of my make-up,sometimes I reaply my lipcolour once or a few times, when I go outside. The only thing I reaply whole day are my chapsticks,I have such dry lips that I reaply them whole day,I use so many chapsticks, and tin cans with lipcareproducts on a yearly base.Only a few times a year I reaply my make-up,and that’s when I go out in the evening, but because of my illness,I am at night in so much pain, that I almost never go out at night again.I noticed that I do way longer with all of my make-up products because of that. But I still love doing my make-up in the morning, because when I look a little better,I feel a little better, only early in the evening I get my make-up off, take a shower or a bath, and do my skincare, because most part of the evening I need to rest,or I fell a sleep, because all of my painmeds. But I still love and enjoy every piece of my make-up,sometimes I have a few weeks, that I don’t use my make-up,because I feel to bad,but I miss it in those weeks, and after those weeks, when I start using my make-up again, that always give such a fabulous feeling, and I realy enjoy those moments, and days that I wear my make-up.I always plan to use it daily, because I feel a little better when I wear my make-up,but realisticly I am fysicly not able anymore to spend my energy and time on it,when I feel so ill,and when I am in to much pain,I always do my make-up later in the morning,so I can rest a bit after washing, brushing teeth, doing my hair, put on my clothes, because I can sit max 20 min, than I need to lay down.I can do my make-up,laying flat in bed,but that doesn’t work practical,so I just enjoy the days and weeks, that I am able to do my make-up,and the days/weeks that I am not able,I am looking forewards using it again, that makes it extra special to me,xoxo wendy
I tried to count right now and I figured out you have 19 blushes (also adding the 2 you forgot to show)! This is a nice collection I think, if you wear blush every day you have a nice choise but nothing remains completely unused.
Do you think that maybe the difference between your gifted eye shadow palettes and your gifted blushes may be because you still “picked out” the eye shadow palettes? Like that Natasha Denona Gold Palette was something you chose to put on your wish list.... so it was a gift off of a curated list. We’re the blushes that were gifted to you gifted in the same fashion? I.e. something you said you wanted versus something someone else picked out for you and then gifted you?
I'm vegan but still can't resist Hanna's meaty videos!❤💝💛💚♥💜👌🌞😘 It's such a joy to find another grungy rainbow lover who doesn't fear glitter! 🙏💪 In love with your channel!
I think maybe you liked the eye shadow palettes as your number one because they are gifts and also ones you may have bought yourself? Kind of a mix of both perhaps? While your blushes you don’t consider making a look like you might with eyes shadows and so choosing it yourself is more impactful? Just some thoughts, I love listening to you talk about your collection! 😊🎃
😲 Hannah, where is 'Apri-Cot in the Middle' ???? I was shocked that it wasn't a part of your ranking ! Oh, and now I want to go swatch 'Miel glacé' - French for Frozen Honey 😍
Safaura I had told her the same thing on IG when she posted about it. It was my first and only blush for 6 years! I actually panned all 8 grams of it. It lasted longer than my marriage. Lol. It is such a beautiful blush
This makes me want to re-examine my blushes, I want to love them as much as you love yours. By the way, it seems like the link for the Lancôme blush is broken
I wonder if your contradiction on cherishing s gift in the blushes vs the eyeshadows goes along with your revelation about cherishing a single blush. An eye shadow palette is, by in large, much more versatile than a blush palette. Perhaps you are so much more drawn towards the blushes you purchased vs what you were gifted because they are so specific and you got to curate them. Where an eyeshadow palette, especially the large Natosha Denonas, you know you will be able to make looks curated to you even if it's not your ideal curated palette. Not sure if that makes any sense but that's what makes sense in my head!
I prefer blush palettes for the exact reason you don’t love them and I love my one cream blush from Flower, which isn’t in a pot. I keep being reminded how personal makeup is through watching UA-cam. The one liquid blush I really want to try is the serum blush from Em Cosmetics. I love the brand’s aesthetic. I haven’t decided that I’m ready to purchase it yet, but it’s definitely the blush that currently has me the most intrigued.
I need to have words with this mean person pinching all your makeup hannah 😂😂😂😂 lol i only have one blush because im too lazy to buy blush... i have pool party by ABH... i love it!
Maybe this is odd, but I would have the most difficult time ranking my products. Maybe it's because I have such a minimal collection? Or because I only have one of most colors (for example, I have two blushes: 1 warm matte coral, and 1 cool toned pink with a bit of shimmer). I feel like ranking my collection of anything would be impossible because it's like comparing apples to bananas. Each product is just different than any other product, and my preference for one vs the other varies on the day and the look I'm wanting to create.
I think the Lancôme blush would have been my favorite too! My all-time favorite is Chanel 02 Rose Bronze...I’ve used it for years. I would love to try the Em Cosmetics Serum Blush if I was to look for something new. Enjoyed your video!
I had to pause and I'm not sure if you'll touch on this but I feel like the loyalty to the blush palette you purchased, as opposed to the eyeshadow palettes, has to do with the diversity that's inherent in an eyeshadow palette. Everyone has a way of doing their makeup that lends to them discovering their standout eyeshadows in a palette so that just allows for more possibilities. With blush, it's more simple, and like you said, utilitarian. Is it matte or a little shimmery, is it warm or cool? How deep is it? Will it compliment my other makeup, SPECIFICALLY the eyes? Eyeshadows are a world of choices, whereas blush can only do so much. Don't be offended, I know your love of blush runs deep! //Edit: I realized that explanation was not done lmao! In essence, it's easier to find more ways to love an eyeshadow palette, so there's more ways to fall in love with the present, whereas with blush, because of its limitations, it either hits the sweet spot or it doesn't. There ya go lol.
I think the difference between the gifted palettes and gifted blushes is that you don't really buy yourself palettes. I think someone noted that the last palette that you have pre-no buy is the Electric palette. I also think that since then you've really only bought yourself the Roen palettes and the BYOP from Colourpop.
Hello peeps! Does anyone know where i can get a Laura Gellar blush in Cherry Truffle? I think it is discontinued. Sold out or unavailable on many sites. Would anyone like to sell one to me? Or have tips on finding one? I appreciate of so and will give necc details if u want to trade
Even though the Natasha palettes were gifts you had already really wanted at least 1 of them plus you love the formula and then the fact that they were a gift made them extra special but with the blushes, the ones that were gifts didn’t already have meaning to you before getting them as a gift. me psycho analyzing your psycho analysis. 😝
Why do you say the meat of the video? I was curious as an author or writer myself I would say body or substance... I always find language choices fascinating... also Hannah, would you approve a group for discussion of language and descriptive terms as well as product talk within your fans on Facebook ? I would love to set something up for you and I could lend myself to moderating daily but you can choose anyone. I just like the idea of it. ‘Hannah’s descriptors, discussions and makeup fun?’
I'm not sure where you're from, but in the US [especially southeastern & midwest], saying "meat" amounts to the same thing. A phrase I grew up with was "meat & potatoes" to describe the core substance of a matter --- like trying to describe a concept to somebody & boiling it down to the few key points. I hope that made sense! And I personally find the wording has a bit of an appeal, for its relative "vulgarity" or indelicate sound, in contrast with her otherwise elegant speech.
Shay Monika I was curious, I’m Australian and use the queens English grammar and spelling wise. So I wondered if it was an American term more... I’ve heard the heart of the topic or something similar but never meat unless it was American/Canadian. It’s interesting to learn the adaptions you regions :)
Shay Monika I agree it’s an interesting choice, she speaks well and clear which makes her appealing to learn from for American written and spoken word choices. Amusingly I had a family member try to educate me on how “afishnado” is apparently a word... it took a good 2 hours and a great deal of embarrassment for them when I pointed out the actual word and term lol some people are more number smart than word sometimes.
Hannah would maybe benefit from a literature and fan group for discussion of descriptions and terminology talks. Would anyone join that if she was to approve it and let someone like myself or someone she trusts set up a group with her over Facebook ?
Your announcement of no longer taking gifts from your subscribers show that you are trying to stay true to yourself. You 'exploded' because of no buy videos anyway! 🤗🤗🤗 I hope that you will stay in that niche and will not turn into yet another review and PR UA-camr! Lots of love. 😘

That Miel blush IS a cult classic! It's the first blush I EVER bought, like 15 years ago 💖
Oh, Hannah...I’ve been eyeing that Lancôme blush recently!!
Would have loved if you would have swatched your blushes.
I depotted all my blushes and put them in one palette. Not something that is for everyone, but I decided to go that route for myself.
I think the Lancôme blush would have been my favorite too! My all-time favorite is Chanel 02 Rose Bronze...I’ve used it for years. I would love to try the Em Cosmetics Serum Blush if I was to look for something new. Enjoyed your video!
It's so weird to me rewatching this now that Roosevelt is so low down and there's so many powder blushes in here 🤣
I had to pause and I'm not sure if you'll touch on this but I feel like the loyalty to the blush palette you purchased, as opposed to the eyeshadow palettes, has to do with the diversity that's inherent in an eyeshadow palette.
That Givenchy looks beautiful.....too bad it’s discontinued....😢
I think you would love Ilia stick in At Last, if you have a chance - try it ;)
That Jouer blush IS grey.
Curious how lauren mae beauty's face Nude Pop blush would compare to your pale jouer one
Your top eye shadow palettes were gifts, but you still chose them. I think that may be the difference.
💜💜💜
Hi Hannah. How are you? Greetings from April. I'm looking forward to your answering>
I didn't know either. I'm from the USA, Pacific Northwest.
Jesus, you are rambeling way to much inbetween.
I feel the exact same about single blushes, they feel so glamorous to me and i love that. I always feel guilty because i know I'm probably saving more money buying a palette but i cant help it
