I have this scooter and I love it. One of the greatest balances between power, portability and build quality out there. If you use public transports, this is a great scooter, heavier than this starts becoming kind of a hassle.
SO I am 60 years old, on the heavier side. I bought this Scooter in November to place in the back of my EV. I use it on the days I have to charge up my car at a local charging station while we are waiting for the install of our charger from the manufacturer. My ride to the local station is about 2.5 miles, I usually ride around 16 mph. Since this was my first scooter, I have nothing to compare it too. I got it for the rider capacity. It has lots of torque when you are in the faster mode. I have done 20 mph according to the screen. Unit seems stable and balanced. No squeaks or rattles after 3 months of usage.Goes over cracks, small holes fairly well with an old guy like me on it. Because it folds it easy for me to take in and out of the car or into the house for charging. It is heavy so if you have a long walk or steps, may not make sense. I do use the regen feature, I think I read somewhere the best you can expect is 4% return. I purchased because of the reputation and the probability that the company will be around in the future. My only negative is the range, I am getting closer to 18 miles if not a little less on a full charge. Live in Florida, so flat terrain. For me not an issue because of how I use the scooter. I guess I scratch my head on how they determined their range vs real world, While they were correct on speed.
I have one and I'm super happy. Mine's range is around 40kms, because the speed is limited to 25hm/h (European standards). I live in Portugal. I had a Pro, I did 600km on it, but it broke down, then I exchanged it for a Max, I drove another 600km in 3 months but the store gave me a new one, because the scooter had a problem with the alignment of the wheels with the steering bar. The one I have now is perfect, it already has 100km in 15 days. Super strong, with very good lighting, I use it every day to go to work.
I think it would be pretty good if the KQI series moved into the bird & lime space, I think it would take over! Just like Segway released the GT2 super scooter last year….I can’t wait to see what NIU’s 1st super scooter is going to be. Their NQI/MQI mopeds 🛵 are top notch! 🤙🏾
I'm currently looking to upgrade for next year. And this one is in my top 5. The only reason im not pulling the trigger is because it doesn't have suspension. update: Ordered it. 2 year warranty is nice and 30 day try out - free return. Will give it a go.
@@neooneeightytwoHow much did the Apollo ghost end up costing you if you dont mind me asking and do you think it was worth the additional cost? I was consider the Max but after seeing this video I’m leaning towards this used apollo ghost I saw online but with the ghost being an additional $500 or so, its a tough call.
@@Yochano Hi. I don't mind the ask. It was 2139$ CAD in total. I did however get the fast charger, a spotlight and bag for free. I watched the official unboxing video and there was supposed to be spare tubes in the box that weren't included. I contacted support and they created an order for me in a queue as they are currently out of stock. As for the Ghost and my personal needs, I'd say it was well worth it. I only took it out for one ride as winter has arrived here in the Canadian capital, I don't want to risk damaging it. (Roads are salted and we have potholes all over...) The cons that turned me off were the 450w motor on the max unfortunately wasn't much of an upgrade to my Kugoo m2 pro. Then having no suspension. The kugoo m2 has one..it was barely adequate. So i decided to go big. I don't want to have to upgrade again in the coming years.
I ordered this, and the distance and mileage are definitely not what I'd expected, and the same goes for the so-so hill climbing ability. I like the ride quality though, so I'll keep it. Not what was promised, but still a fun ride. Great review btw.
@@GergGrem720 I expected at least 2/3rd of the range, and at least the ability to climb hills a bit better. What did you ask such a ridiculous question for?
Overall, great review with added info rarely seen like hill climb capability. But, Easy folding and it weighs ???? And there are # ? service centres located in ????
Thanks! Weight is around 35 - 40 lbs, I've got the link over to their listing in the bio if you want exact numbers. It does easily fold and not sure if there's any service centers although some bike shops may be able to help out with some issues if they arrise
Follow-up, between the Apollo Air and NIU KQi3 Max, which would you say is the smoother ride, and what company would you trust to stay around longer for customer support?
I see that you ride both the Okai Neon Pro and this one, the KQi3 Max. Which one you recommend to buy? I currently have the Segway Max 30p that I will be giving to my son. I think you are the only one on youtube that got to review and ride both the KQi3 Max and the Okai Neon Pro. TIA.
It really depends what you're looking for, if you like techy stuff, I'd do the OKAI, if you like the basics, not a lot of bells and whistles, I'd do the KQi3, If I had to chose, I'd go with this one
Between kqi3 pro, okai neon pro, anyhill um2, nineboot max, and gmax ultra which would you suggest to commute (focused on hill climbs) thank you. (If any other suggestion around or cheaper than this price range would be appreciated)
I bought the okai neon pro and it is a good scooter, ended up returning it due to the motor being in the front. If you hit a bump the tire will slip and squeal, you have less torque and power. Got the niu pro and loved it, has a better build, more torque, better brakes than the neon pro but less range. Ended up returning it and getting the max just for the additional power and range. You can't go wrong with any, the niu pro is the best for the price but the additional range and speed was worth upgrading to the niu max for me.
No to scooters that can't do an uphill for this price. I did make my own motorized scooter like go-peds that can do uphill anytime any day with half of the price of this scooter. So many advantages of motorized except fuel but not too bad for 1 liter can take you 30 to 40kms with a top speed of 70kmh and no waiting time for battery to get charge. But for city commuting with good elevation I think it's ok.
@@ElectricRevolution The review should indicate that because I'm 220lbs and the Max can carry me up a similar incline at 27kph with the battery at 78%. I also get a higher top speed on level grades. These batteries and motors have no insulation.
I'm confused with the range. It's advertised at up to 40 mile range. While I know that is not likely, Can you at least get 25 mile range at a steady pace of 18 mph?
I have this scooter and I love it. One of the greatest balances between power, portability and build quality out there. If you use public transports, this is a great scooter, heavier than this starts becoming kind of a hassle.

Please let me know if you did!
I thinking to buy this scooter

It's based on weight

NIU is much smoother and has more power

Im confused because their site says this is 25mph
Really depends on rider weight, I'm 190 lbs for your reference and I did ride in the cold which does affect the power
