  • INGREDIENTS:
Shortening or your favorite oil for deepfrying
    Flour Seasoned as desired
    🌟Season the wings
    2 lbs split wings
2 tablespoons Jamaica Valley Chicken Seasoning
    Black pepper to taste
    1 tsp paprika
    1/4 tsp cayenne
    🌟Batter
    3/4 cup all purpose flour
    1/4 teaspoon Salt
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 1/2 tablespoon hot sauce
    1 tablespoon white vinegar
    3/4 cup water
✅️Cook time varies depending in the SIZE of the wings and whether you do WHOLE or SPLIT wings. They could take anywhere from 8 - 14 minutes. Whole wings will take 12 - 14 minutes and smaller party wings will take less time. However, you should definitely cook to suit your palate 😄
✅️If you don't own a deepfryer, you may use a heavy bottomed pot to cook the wings.

Good video straight to the point. I agree the 1st method delivers a non-traditional crispy texture and the second can be done simply with or without batter. Excellent video.

I just used that first method, halfed it for trial and error, and marinating the rest of my chicken for tonight(with my mustard greens). I did add mustard and celery seed, because it's a childhood flavor I was seeking.
GODDESS THAT BATTER!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I'm a kid eating my Mema's chicken. I LITERALLY dropped a tear😢. Thanks to you and the Ancestors🙌🏿💯👑🤎🪄🙏🏾✨❣️

Looks so good & she made it simple to follow, OMG I'M HAPPY IM NOT THE ONLY ONE! I love how she didn't use eggs, to me eggs makes your chicken so dark & easy to burn It makes your chicken under cooked because the outside cooks so quickly & make you think it's ready so you pull it out before time, & if you leave it in the oil for it's full term it's burned.. kudos awesome job❤️

Made these tonight it's so much better without the egg. It's almost like a long John silver batter. Which I love

See I loveeeeee wet batter chicken! But I love Popeyes flakey crust too! And I feel your second method produces that! I can’t wait to try. So glad the wet batter can work both ways.

@@JerenesEats I’m coming back to this video bc I’m trying the recipes for something I’ve been trying to replicate for years. But idk if you’ve ever heard of Golden Bird or Honey Kettle (they’re in California) but the first method’s wet batter gives me that vibe 👀
