Hope more car parks allow campers overnight like Tintagel and Mevagisey. Campers use the village bars and restaurants at night thus bringing more revenue. Cornwall council and other councils are missing a trick.

Those were decent measures of whisky...
The engine fault needs addressing correctly.
It needs thoroughly cleaning and then the code re setting.
This should be done by a mechanic that knows what he’s doing.
O Riley’s autos on UA-cam will tell you all you need to know and will fix it.
Stayed at Mevagissey...same spot around May last year...the people fishing at the end of the Pier introduced us to the friendly one eyed seal who waited where Darren lots his Rod for fish....filmed it on my phone...Mevagissey definitely worth the visit...a mile or so down the coast stop off a Heligan, and Carhaze...absolutely beautiful....get well soon....whisky should do the trick...especially Monkeys Shoulder 🐒...had EGR and DPF problems on the van...had a remap and bypass done(legally done at the garage)...and should have no more problems I'm told...

I lived in Meva for 11 years from the age of 14...Some of the best years of my life. I'm only six miles away now but miss it a lot 💖. It's great that they allow over night parking and at a good rate. Glad you had good times with Darren. I only discovered that look out point last year 😜. If you fancied a bit longer walk... the walk to Chapel Point is great and you can swim, dive or snorkel at a lovely secluded beach there... if you don't already know about it 👍👌🙏

We came down from the Highlands of Scotland to travel round Dorset, Devon and Cornwall and although we didn't spend a night at Mevagissey, we fell in love with the place and we plan to return some day. Thanks for the video ❤.

If the cops where to come along and your drinking in your camper van and your over the limit its drunk in charge
of a vehicle.
Only if you have your keys on you. However is it still drinking charge if you’re on a campsite? Because technically you still have access to the vehicle? Or is it ok because it’s private land? Which if that’s the case a private carpark is also private land
There needs to be an "intent to drive" and being on private land, even in a car park (privately owned) the police have no jurisdiction, unless you are causing nuisance then it would be a public order offence. The rule of thumb, is if you are set up for the night, and do not draw attention to yourself, and when approached you are civil, then the police are in the most, sensible as they know that they would struggle to "prove" that you had intended to drive whilst under the influence.

I had the exact same issue with my Custom. I had the DPF removed and mapped out.

I accidentally drove through there when half of it was pedestrianised for some festival... ooohhhh the looks I got, pmsl I normally stay at pentewan about a mile away from there, Brill eating place there called hub box so so nice
There Hub boxes all over now even Exeter. It started in st Ives though

Hope your better now mate nice video get that van on the motorway or do a forced regeneration.
Had the very same problem with mine last year where it kept going into limp mode, with very little or no notice from when the lights and warning on the dash came on, to loosing all power. really dangerous and nearly ended up in an accident on the m5 because of it. I had it taken out and deleted off the system during a remap. It’s not made any difference to emissions at this stage but it may in the future but I’ll cross that bridge if I have to. The option from ford dealers is to drive it in third gear on the motorway at over 3000 revs for 25 minutes….ridiculous if you ask me. Hope you get it sorted soon.
EGR is a common fault on vehicles, that was a nice little getaway. That RV was nice but theyre just too big for our roads.

I treated myself to some new camera for Christmas. If anything the the view is wider but I have multiple lenses so years there is 35mm
I recognised that town from the carpark and I've only been there twice! Very nearly got my motorhome stuck on the narrow streets on the other side of town...... That was embarrassing.
Andy, yes there are two ways in and out of Meva, I have done both ways, and it can be a nightmare if you get faced with another van coming the other way 🤣
You can get a WiFi diesel heater controller. It’s turns the heater on and off automatically. Maybe you should look at one of those because they are brilliant!! 👍🏻 happy new year to you mate

The EGR fault seems quite common on a lot of different vehicles. Happened to me on a 2009 Audi A4 and I know of a few other people who've had to have their replaced or cleaned. Seems daft that they have such a high failure rate.
All the joys & problems of a Diesel engine😢 , I had to scrap my £20,000 Mazda cx5 just before Christmas, turns out it was a known faulty part ( cam shaft ) was worn and put iron filings throughout the engine. £14,000 for a new engine 😫
Just not worth it as already spent a fortune on it. 😢 good luck with van mate. 🤞🏽happy new year 🎉
Great video Shaun. Could be engine temperature sensors if you cant clear DPF by driving, temperature gauge wont stay at ninety, and cabin heaters are cold. If the sensors are ok the ECU should be able to clean DPF itself with an automatic regen. Happened to mine 😉

Have you made a list of car parks for campers and motorhome?
You sure it's not your DPF as your exhaust filter overloaded would indicate DPF .. yet sum code readers might come up with EGR . Transit EGR common you need to blast it at high Rev's up a big hill with Cat a clean . Cheap supermarket fuel will clogg egr and DPF regular.. my transit mk7 engine light was on for a whole year till I switched to supreme diesel . Much cleaner burning and more miles plus more power in acceleration . Of you put in a diagnosis scanner and look in modules exhaust line information you can read differential pressure either side of dpf which will show if its clogged . But EGR valves with stick open and shut all the time unless regularly hoofed up the motorway..and each time will store a code .

For the DPF then a good tip is to drive for about 20 mins or so above 40mph and more than 2.5k rpm and then it will burn off the spot
Yea I tried that originally. The Dpf warning goes off then come back on about 10 minutes later. It’s booked in now so the garage will need to sort it. If the EGR is blocked though it might be preventing a proper regeneration on the DPF
Either way, hope it all works out cheaply and get well soon!

Newer vehicles are rubbish I have gone backwards in age of vans and have less problems and are easily fixed and cheaper parts
