Medusa is definitely one of the greatest albums in pop music history, and I believe only Annie Lennox could pull off an entire cover album like that. She is not only one of the greatest musicians of her generation, but her videos were the among greatest. Most "music videos" get very old very quickly, but hers never tire. And this is because they are intelligent, as she is.

This is a song few people would ever attempt to sing, it's one of those song's you avoid but she takes it on, puts her own spin on it & owns it. Very impressive.
I know this has been said a billion times but there were some decades where music blossomed like never before and like never again. Some of us were lucky to have enjoyed those times happening in front of our minds
This song as sung by Procol Harum was voted as being the "best" by influential magazines and music industry insiders some 20 or so years ago. Annie does it proud!
It's brilliant! A 90's cover of a 60's song, completely redone as a more subtle music with a strong, female singer. Annie, I think you've excelled yourself on this one! Love the video too.
WOW YOU TUBE THANK YOU FOR SHARING, I LOVE THIS SONG ANNIE LENNOX SURE NAILED IT ON THIS VIDEO, I AM 65 AND I THANK GOD I AM STILL ARROUND TO ENJOY SUCH GOOD MUSIC ❤❤❤
The song has received critical acclaim ever since its release. It has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and listed as one of the best songs of all time. The song was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a new Singles category in 2018. 1:11 [Music Grotto]
The first verse of the song certainly suggests some kind of dance, with skipping the light fandango sounding like a portmanteau of ‘tripping the light fantastic’, a well-known idiom relating to dancing (derived from a poem by John Milton), and the Spanish (and Portuguese) dance, the fandango. By Dr Oliver Tearle (Loughborough University) 2:22 [Interesting Literature]
'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' became the most played song in the last 75 years in public places in the UK (as of 2009). The first video for the song was shot in the ruins of Witley Court in Worcestershire, England. 3:33 [This Day In Music]
It’s hard to imagine ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ by Procol Harum being a hit today. Daring, baroque and quietly experimental, it’s the very antithesis of the melodically staid contemporary pop song. And yet, in the summer of 1967, it was absolutely everywhere and has since come to encapsulate the patchouli-scented free-for-all that was the Summer of Love. Even John Lennon - a tough critic by anyone’s standard - was a fan. By Sam Kemp 4:44 [Far Out Magazine]

Medusa is a favorite of mine...
Brilliant cover recorded 42 years after the original and still being listened to 12 years later. This song will always be a masterpiece.
Thanks for your nice compliment. Hope you have been well entertained?
no one performed this song better than Ennie Lenox
Procol Harem, theirs and no cover will ever better.
Is she related to Annie?
Annie Lennox was born to sing 💖🎶🎶🎵🎶💙 💛
She's amazing. I went to see her at Hyde Park with Nelson Mandela ... she does so much for charity.
@@lizlovatt8135 did you ever hear the story about her being resused a position at the royal conservatory of music(?) and years later them giving her an honorary doctorate
My Papa's always listened to this song when he's young. Now he just passed away ☹️ at 87 years old. Rest in peace papa, I love you! Al Fatihah

❤
C'est formidable
Merci bien
❤️🙏🏻
Artists like Annie don't exist anymore, shame....
❤
What happened to ourselves and what happend to our world ?
You said it yourself, "Artists" like her don't exist anymore. There are no artists anymore, just actors singing kareoke.
@@tysongames2750 let me guess, you’re not actually paying attention to any contemporary music past what’s in the charts? because there are still “artists”. you’re just being straight up ignorant
Try listening to Agnes Obel, Laura Mvula, Aurora, Alice Phoebe Lou, Lisa Hannigan, Natalia Lafourcade, Feist or Marmozets, perhaps you will change your mind.
Annie does it proud!
linda
miragejeff1 Much agreed. Procol took the melody from Bach’s Air. Guess everyone covers something😀😀
Annie Lennox is and always has been one of my favourite human beings ever, she touches my soul with every note she utters.
One of my all time favorite songs, sung by our Beloved Annie! Sweet Bliss
Perfection! She took a classic pop song and made it her own 👍
My first time hearing this rendition. She has so much depth and power in her voice, remarkable. ✌️❤️🎵🎶
She's the best of the best..weird videos yeah but annie lennox is easily one of the best vocalists you've ever heard.
Absolutely love her voice
Just turn off the monitir and listen to her fantastic voice!

The best rendition of this beautiful song by far!! Thanks Annie!!
Another beautiful ballad from the wonderful Annie Lennox.
What a beautiful version of this song. Choked me up! Tears and all, thanks Annie.
Me too....
The expressions of the male Flamenco dancer are extradinory, as is his face: pure emotion!
Thank you, Ms. Lennox, for this rendition. It's simply beautiful!
Part of the ballad’s composition comes from Bach, and for audiences who grew up on classical music, it’s a familiar tune. 3:55
Simply unbelievable…. What a woman ❤
Procol Harum version gives me goosebumps. Annie Lennox elevates this this song to the cosmos !!!! Amazing!!!What an experience!!!!!
Annie Lenox .... voice of an angel.
this song touches me for years now - it goes so deep to the bones - thank you Annie - thank you Procol Harum -
And thanks Mr Bach for the tune.

Just turned 64, and yes I'm still listening. Amazing !
Thank-you Johann Sebastian Bach.
I so agree!!!
There's something magical about listening to this song at night. My second best Annie Lennox song after "No More I Love You's."
Nelson Turyasingura wtf same
My thoughts exactly.
So she should film the video at night streets my vision
Nelson Turyasingura yes, yes , yes !!
Yessssssss
Nic dodać nic ująć. Piękne wykonanie Annie Lennox wspaniałego utworu.
I first heard this when Annie Lennox did it. When I heard the Procol Haram original, I was floored. I still can't decide who is better.
Time literally stops while this song is played, probably the reason why Annie still looks so great at 65.
One of the greatest songs of all time. RIP Mr. Booker !
Yes, so very sad

Clipe maravilhoso e letra confusa...
Musica linda!❤️❤️
One of the greatest covers ever.
How can you not be touched by the melody of this timeless piece of instrumental genius? It's groundbreaking. I think of all the women who have fought throughout the years to insure they have a voice when I hear this song.
What an amazing version of a timeless classic! Great job Annie!
