In late 1969 I sat on a hillside with 3 very good friends drinking coffee and arguing about the meaning of this song.They were the best of us, all dead within a few months, far too young. Of course we figured out the meaning. We were young, almost brand new Marine officers. Wasn't anything we couldn't do. I still miss them. You sing so beautifully, Lucy. Thank you for the memory. You made me cry

It came out in 1967 and is one of the most popular songs of all time selling 10 million copies! I graduated from high school in 1969 so of course this incredible song impacted me!

I was very lucky to be able to see Lucy live at her concert in Manchester. I really wanted to see and hear if this voice was actually as great and wonderful as it sounds on her recordings and covers. Believe me - she is an amazing young lady and blessed with an incredible voice. And it sounds even better live than on any recording. I've been a fan of hers since 2011 and always will be. She will conquer the world.
