      U're right. On the studio version Lennox also perfoms that part of the song as well as singing the main part. In that song backing vocals mostly take part to convey the atmosphere and the beauty of the whole thing: this is really the element of the arrangements I do prefer. Here, on this video, backing singers did their work perfectly making listeners enjoying the original atmosphere of the track... on stage this time.

    Am I the only one who thinks Ms Annie Lennox is a Goddess of music? She sings the shit outta this song and dances free and joyfully even when the song is heartbreakingly haunting sad, with a smile that lights up the theater. She's breathtaking. I love it. Ms Annie Lennox, if you think you'll have "no more I love you's" think again. Here's one from me. I LOVE YOU!

    This is how a proper singing voice sounds. No gimmicks, just vocals in its natural state

    • @benskywalker2351
      @benskywalker2351 2 роки тому +1

      This is hardly a natural voice. It’s a highly trained, well cultured voice. If you want natural vocals your gonna have to look at Neil Diamond or Michael W. Smith.

    This song , as Annie signs it so hauntingly beautifully, slays me. My marriage is dying. I am losing my best friend and lover. We are saying goodbye to each other and have to move on into what? a brave new future, it's unknown. No more "I love yous". I cry every time I here this song now. Such a beautiful sad song that speaks to my broken heart.

    • @leemitchellmusic
      @leemitchellmusic 4 роки тому +12

      One of the saddest songs that reminds me of the past. So sorry to hear of your dilemma Brother...When you feel...you feel...that will always be a part of those that do...Maybe that is a curse. But when we know what we had and love...it stays with us. There will be other loves. Leave yourself open to allow it into your heart. I pray you find that joy again. That is what life is...Hope and love. x

      This is one my playlist faves. It is 2/ 15/2021. This song was playing in the car right after my daughter told me she was getting a divorce and it all broke my heart and I cried all the way home. Her life has not been easy, my husband and I raised her son and we have lost contact with her. This song is the saddest and yet most beautiful song I have ever heard.

    This song came out over 30 years ago. Not everyone's voice will remain the same. Grow up and respect the legend that she is. I was 3 years old in 1986. Some of these young people have no darn appreciation for great music. These disrespectful comments are totally unreal and uncalled for.

I'm sorry to keep going on about it, music is not mathematics, you can't learn it, its not how close to the note or the beat, its how close to the emotion I'm looking for. Outstanding review of Annie Lennox's 'No More "I Love You's"'! This song, originally by The Lover Speaks and later famously covered by Lennox, showcases her unique ability to transform a song into something entirely her own. Your analysis of how Lennox's version elevates the track with her powerful, emotive voice and the distinctive orchestral arrangement is spot on. The song, featured in her 1995 album 'Medusa', marks a significant moment in her solo career, diverging from the Eurythmics' style to a more introspective and mature sound. The way Lennox interprets the song's exploration of the end of a love affair and the complexities of relationships is deeply moving. The use of operatic backing vocals and its innovative video further highlight Lennox's creative artistry. Thanks for this in-depth look at one of Annie Lennox's most compelling performances!

    The incredible Annie Lennox.
    'No More I Love You's is quite a difficult song to sing. While I don't think this was a great performance, she gave all she could give. She gave a good vocal performance.
    Besides, It's Annie!
    I'll always remember the day when I was 15 sitting in my bedroom in mid-America listening to American pop radio. It was spring of '83. A song I hadn't heard before by an artist I hadn't heard of came on. I loved the ominous sounding synth track, but then this woman, with a rich powerful voice began to sing...and she said "Sweet dreams are made of this. Who am I to disagree? I travel the world and the seven seas. Everybody's looking for something...." I was blown away and immediately fell in love. Very shortly after, I bought the album. Thus began a love affair with Eurythmics/Annie Lennox that continues to this very day. The 'Sweet Dreams...' album is one of my favorites from the 80s and I still listen to it. That album holds a place in my heart...like a time of discovery...
    Hard for me to believe that was 34 years ago...
