When I first started beatboxing in 2009, I heard technical beatboxers reaching the top and I was like "really? these are the top?" But after I got into beatboxing I realized that this was like watching drum soloists going crazy into technically difficult stuff that as a listener you would be bored to listen to and prefer nicely structured drummers, while drum nerds would go crazy for those highly skillful technically drummers kinda thing. This is I guess one analogy I can think of
I mean I ain't blaming you, I like musicality more than technicality. Though in my opinion, it's not quite right to say Technicality beatboxers doesn't have or have less structure than Musicality beatboxers. Tech Beatboxers are usually more like a long whole drum solo.it took me long before I've grown to appreciate the complex rhythms and time signatures(not saying you have to understand it to actually enjoy it, I mean it's an entertainment after all) Just putting out my opinion and appreciate the reaction bro
same, it took me a but to respect tech beatboxers, now I frickin love em

@@Limitless_King it's segmented into what like 2 minute clips per artist? It's basically made for cutting into smaller videos for those who stress around in life so much they can't sit still and maintain focus for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Was hoping you would get to this one eventually, I knew you would like some of the more musically structured beatboxers. If you want to try any of the recent live battles I think River vs Hiss would be your style.

As a beatbox fan I absolutely understand your judging! The wildcards are basically a video you submit to enter a competition so a lot of it is just ticking boxes such as originality, technicality, flow etc People also didn’t agree with Alem (7) and Alexinho (2) being on the list but hey, judges are judges for a reason! We can all discuss our rankings without any hate so great video Fil! Hope you dive some more into beatbox content in the future ❤️
I personally think Heartzel should've pipped Alem to the number 7 spot, but hey, at least he got to perform as unprepared as he was.

Hey great reaction! To suit your liking you should check den bbu wildcard 2022.... He has great pitch control and has nice vocals.... He uses the complex sounds in a very melodious way.
Alem (7) in 2015 and alexinho(2) in 2018 won solo category world championships, an event conducted every three years. In 2019, they collab and joined GBB, same event you've watched which conducted yearly, in different category called "tagteam" where two are against two. They both have won two of the biggest international competition in the world.
Gene also won GBB solo category in 2015 so this comeback is one of the most awaited in the beatbox world.
Showgo once joined GBB in 2018 and placed top 8 in the world.
River also once joined GBB in 2019 and also placed top 8 in the world.
Stitch became known in a competition in 2019 where world-class beatboxers judged the event such as alem and dlow (you should check him out), but this is Stitch's first time to join a big event like gbb.
Max is new to this game, literally an underdog.

For those who listen for the first time or do not know much about Beatbox, they like music more and not as complex and fast as alexinho and Alem.
To give an example, you first listen to Inertia vs Colaps or Alem or Zero and they will like Inertia much more

For me I’m not a fan of the technicality beatbox styles because I can CLEARLY tell it’s just someone’s mouth making noises, but more musicality focused beat boxers seem to have this ability to modulate their voices, noises, pitches, and tones, to make them nearly indistinguishable from an instrument or

The problem is, the average person doesn't even notice all the layers and polyrythms in technical beatboxing. It's sad because singing well is way easier than doing a complex beat.

Imagine how good River's wildcard was, to make a non-beatboxer musical-beat lover put him on top 1 over Gene's or Stitch's wildcards... I think River's wildcard for GBB 21 was probably one of the best, if not the best, beatbox solo wildcard ever to be created for this competition
