To add to this, he also uses polyphonic voice while doing 626 effect during his drop… Those techniques are really hard to do on his own, combining them is definitely godlike

The beatbox community is what made me start beatboxing and I don’t regret one bit I’m so happy that more people are loving the beatbox community and etc that just makes me more excited so when I’m around my 20 with full experience beatboxing then hope to be up there with the bigger beatboxer

Show-Go has been one of my favourite beatboxers since I discovered beatbox, he has a video on his channel where he is literally beatboxing for a club night, unfortunately the audio is not incredible, but it just shows how beatbox translates to a more conventional musical setting. @@CliffBeatsOfficial "only a writer", dude don't sell yourself short! I got into beatbox late in life, I was probably about 35 when I discovered the extent that competitive beatbox goes to. I have tried to do it myself and can make a few sounds, basic patterns and rhythms but I'm never going to be at this kind of level, I have some vocal training and as an "older" guy it's hard to use your mouth, vocal cords etc in such a radically different way, but I have huge respect and admiration for these artists and performers. As the GBB is coming around, you'll probably have plenty of stuff to check out and react to, but if you want to see Beatbox in a slightly different setting (but still with world class beatboxers) search for "Hiss & H-Has Vocal Play". As I understand it, this was a Korean talent show which was kind of a hybrid of The Voice and the "Got Talent" franchise, but with a uniquely Korean twist, I think Hiss actually went on to win the competition overall, but that show has the same "music industry people reacting to beatbox" vibe as the judges on that show were all Korean managers/producers. Even if you don't do a reaction video to it, it's worth checking out for that really "polished" production style. Gonna catch up with a few more of your reaction videos now I think, they remind me a lot of how I felt when I first discovered this art 👍

The wildcards competition is the main way for beatboxers to participate in the GBB and the other big beatbox events. Few people get invited to GBB without making a wildcard: winner and finalist from the previous year, champions in different regions (Asia, UK, France, mainly). Everybody else has to do a wildcard to get in.

So the wild cards are for everyone other than last years winner if i'm not mistaken. So there are only 8 people that actually compete on stage every year per category. Again I may be mistaken and if I am someone correct me but i'm almost positive that's how it works. It's not like the NFL where the wild cards are for the ones just on the outside of the playoffs, these guys are some of the best in the world rn
When they are in the smaller rooms they use the sound bouncing off the walls as natural reverb. That is what reverb is... sound frequencies bouncing back very fast
