it's easy.....you apply for the job.....they send you out in an old machine and a mechanic to drive around and after some driving around you wind up at the top of the steepest hill at the place and the mechanic says....drive down here.... and if you will without wrecking the machine..you get the job
Best part of the job? For me, knocking down wind drifts. I still get a dopamine kick watching a wall of snow erupt in my blade, knowing that I'm doing in minutes what it would take 10 guys with shovels an hour to accomplish
my best friend Kat drove one to clear the roads .... She enjoyed clearing bad juju from certain roads too and would use extra salt 🧂 .... She is a tiny 5 foot woman but tough as nails and beautiful both on the inside as well as the out.
Its a great job. With great conditions, and a good machine, the night just flies by. One day i had to refuel a fuel tank which took about an hour. I was next to a pump house with wifi, so i just watched an episode of anime, got out to check on the fuel tank, then watched another one 🤣
Very little room, awkward angles, accidentally engaging the functions, narrow spaces to clean later, but the stereo can blast music loud enough to make your body vibrate. 3/10 would not recommend
