Your personal insight into training, mindset, and beta are incredibly valuable! We are SO lucky to be able to peek behind the scenes at Olympic level climbers; NO ONE is making any content of Toby’s caliber to showcase all the training, highlights and lowlights of what it takes to be an elite climber in the Olympics. Keep up the great work, Toby!
That contortionistic shoulder move on the finals boulder was crazy... Even the basically impossible finals slab was insane. Great work, awesome video too!
Dang, those are some exceptional, quality route settings. Kudos to the route setters. An what an amazing video. The editing is flawless. The performance displayed by all the climbers. Your insight and that try hard beast mode. My FAVORITE video on your channel so far!
It's always great seeing all the different climbers from all nations training together and helping each other out. That's one of the aspects I love about climbing. I will be in Innsbruck and cheering you on. :)
@@LianaAkobianI think his point is that he had a terrible boulder season last year, and just a few months before the Olympics, he absolutely dominated at Shanghai and it seems like he is gonna do it in Budapest OQS as well
can understand your frustration and I know what I say wont change anything, but dude you are in a crazy form at such a young age and with such a professional mindset (commenting your own climbs is such a genius way of learning; may open important doors/sponsering etc.)... I think even with a little bit less tension you are on an incredible path :)
I just came here after the Olympics. The insights make climbing so much more interesting. I didn't get it before - how climbing is more than just strength and technique. It's bloody amazing to see the problem solving, and the sheer elegance of everything! Wow. Mind-blowing. I'm a huge fan of this now. I also love how the competitors are all rooting for each other - like it's some sort of celebration of what the human body can achieve.
I watched you win Gold in the Olympics, and then remembered that I had seen some of your videos! Just came back to say congrats and well done! Also an extra observation and note of appreciation for being friendly/collegial with your fellow athletes when you're not climbing. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere is among the things I like most about bouldering, and its nice to see it come through at the elite level, even if its captured as B-roll footage to put something on screen when there isn't a climb :)
Love these videos! The boulders are amazing but what makes them extra special is learning about the internal journey and the thought processes to solve the problems, thank you for sharing them!
Thanks Toby, over the years I have watched a lot of channels about bouldering and a shedload of videos and I can honestly say you and your camera person (?Dad) have hit upon the best way I have ever seen of putting together a reprise of a comp. I came away awed at such a great video.
Love seeing the fight you've shown in IFSC comps still there at unofficial comps/training sessions. Good luck to everyone at OQS and then the Olympics!
What a great event, thanks for sharing! Really nice video and editing of you and everyone climbing. All the hard work is really paying off, you look fit and ready, rooting for you in August!
Toby well done really nice video behind the scenes. It gave me so much insight of how the best climbers in the world are preparing before the competitions🎉what i love the most is the nice atmosphere you guys are in, helping each other to success❤ its so nice to see that even if you are rivals you work together to get stronger
Great video, love the commentary with your thought process after the session has ended. Would've liked even more if there hadn't been any tiny spoilers throughout the video, it breaks the tension for us viewers :)
Impressive work and great video as always! Its always very interesting to see your thought process and mindset as an Olympian and World Cup athlete. Keep being a huge inspiration to everyone out there!
Another great video! I always enjoy watching the collabortative and friendly attitude among even elite climbers. Unfortunately I dislocated both my shoulders watching at 15:00 - holy cow...
I remember seeing you post that insane top on M2 from the finals on Instagram and hoping you’d be putting out a video about it! This was, as per usual amazingly put together and full of great insight, looking forwards to your next one😊
I realy like the spirit of this sport and hope it never dies out. Sure it is competitive, and sure everyone realy wants to win medals. but its also athletes vs the wall / vs, routsetters. I love seeing Jakob spot a fellow athlete while trying the slab. I love seing you cheere for each other, this is so beautifull!
I always wonder what if climbers were given more time to work on the problem, because some moves just looked impossible if no one has pulled ut off in the comp. Thanks for showing the footage during the working session! All the best in Paris!
Toby i just want to say that the video format is simply awesome, perfect combination, high quality awesome. I'd love to see more content like that! Btw im just watching the video, and my hands are sweating like if im attemptimg them with you lol :)
Toby you did great. As always maximum effort from your part but seeing Alberto climb... he has this floating feeling when he's on the wall. He seems that he is pulling effortlessly on absolutely nothing. May God help you all at the Olympics cause he is here to content very seriously for gold. I am sure you'll be up there as well.

Thank you! Always great to work the problems with the athletes afterwards. We didn’t keep to tight a track of the scores as it was just a training and for people to get out of it what they wanted to! 👌🏼
How is no one talking about Toby supergluing his fingernail?? Wouldn't that hurt like hell? Had to replay that bit twice coz I was certain I heard it wrong
Toby, this video was sick! Thanks for making it, and you’re gonna crush at the Olympics for sure 👍 I just have one question, that you obviously don’t have to answer. I’m on a youth team and at the gym, there is no slab. Do you think this will be important in my overall development as a climber? (Mostly for comps)Thanks so much!

Great video. Somewhat saved my day after I couldn't go today since I came down with a fever. Will you be at Villars for the European Championship this year?
Amazing video as always. Out of interest do the climbing holds ever repeat on world cups or are they new every time? E.g do you ever walk out and think 'oh I remember that hold looks nice but isn't' or vice versa? Also hope you have fun at kitting out next week :)
I'm curious about being obligated to invite all the IFSC countries when using IFSC setters. Is this only when it's a (mock) competition format? Because I thought Magnus' video with you also used IFSC routesetters -- but maybe I misunderstood?
Watching Alberto in the OQS, that man seems to be in crazy form right now. The Olympics is going to be a thrilling watch. I’m rooting for you, Toby!
yeah honestly, i kind of raised my eyebrows when he got gold in 2021 but he seems to have dialed in for this year
He’s insanely strong 💪🏼💪🏼 thank you!
You understand why he is the olympic champion now, great all round athlete and so incredibly strong
@@colemantrebor6574 People think he 'didn't deserve' the gold last time, because of speed and the scoring system. He is proving them wrong!

love your video! and really wondering is using the bolt holes on the volume part of the design
Maybe not what the setters intended but it’s almost impossible to fully block all the screw holes so we always use them 😉
When I suggest someone use super glue for various skin flappers and issues they always look at me like I am insane. But it works.
