I'm applying to law school, I've watched a lot of these "day in the life videos." You stated that you can't show that much at work obviously for confidentiality reasons, but I think that your video is one of the best I've seen. Many of the annoying one's I've watched seem to focus on their breakfast, hair and wake-up routine and what they had for lunch more than anything else. I enjoyed watching and learned a few things.

Hi! I'm a pre-teen and I am considering becoming a lawyer in the future, but I don't really know what they do at work? Like what was all the desk work you did?
Chaengs lion briefing/preparing arguments for court hearings, researching laws and regulations and speaking on the phone with clients, new potential clients and also phone calls with judges. It's a lot of research and analytical work. Lots of paperwork. They have assistants to help them out though with obtaining paperwork, updating clients, filing appeals, reconsideration etc. I'm not a lawyer obviously I'm actually studying accounting but this is what I saw daily as an assistant at a law firm. Some client files for evidence in court were thousands of pages 😭
Chaengs lion Do you know what kind of lawyer you are thinking of becoming? I’m a teen as well, and I’ve decided that I want to be a Criminal Defense Attorney, or a Criminal Lawyer in a shorter form.
Here are some positions you should know about:
**Prosecutor:** an attorney/lawyer who represents the case, and gathers evidence to pursue the jury that the defendant (the individual getting accused of a criminal act) is guilty.
**Defense Attorney:** an attorney/lawyer who is responsible for defending the defendant who has been accused of a criminal act. Sometimes it’s not always an individual, and can be companies too.

Follow your passion only. It’s really hard and demanding. The law is a jealous lover. There are so many other options.
Do anything else. I have 6 weeks left of school. It's way too many hours, for way too little money, starting out below Even because of years spent in school and tuition. Personal agendas, career agendas, personal biases, nepotism, and corruption run the entire legal system. Being good at law matters almost never.

Im considering becoming a lawyer. Do you feel like you get to do a lot of emotional and soul-fulfilling work as a lawyer? Or is it more corporate and non-consequential work? My biggest fear is being stuck doing busy work for the rest of my life.
It really depends on what type of work you end up doing and what gives you satisfaction. Much of my work day is spent writing and responding to emails, making calls, sending out stuff, reviewing documents. But every once in a while, like when I go to court or settle a case, or get a nice thank you from a client, it makes me feel happy. :)
asianamericanfocus what would you say is the hardest part about your job ? I’m a junior in high school and I’ve been thinking about becoming a medical lawyer to advocate for marginalized groups , but I have qualms about job security and fulfillment .

I have a question since senior year of high school I always wanted to become a Civil Rights Attorney because I do love law,history and politics. But I’m a college junior now I am terrified that law school will destroy me. I actually enjoy reading and writing just not long and boring legal reading. I get so nervous public speaking and debating so I was thinking about being a judge that focuses on cases involving issues such as equality, human rights, social freedom, and discrimination. My major is political science. Any advice ?

I have a BA and an MA, but have been considering law more recently as I have an opportunity to go back to school through my current job. They cover some of the cost, but law is a big investment and I want to make sure it’s actually something I want to do. I’m trying to take all of the advice that I can get. I'm interested in being an attorney/lawyer as well and I was wondering what's your advice going forward as I'm a senior in high school
Do debate or mock trial if your school offers those activities. Try to intern with a lawyer if you have any connections. Read legal books and non-fiction to learn more about legal history and cases. You could also start studying for the LSAT-- it's never too early!

Hey! As I only have about 5 months left of school before I enter University I'm extremely curious! After studying law for 3/4 years, do you feel like it's worth it? Do you ever have days where you just "regret" doing this or feel like it's boring? It might just be my 17 year old side thinking this is tedious not having worked a single day in my life and I'm sure in about 4-5 years I'll be more responsible in thinking it's not boring, but genuinely curious to see from a Lawyer's perspective! Can someone please answer my question because I don’t know what to do I booked a makeup lady for my brothers wedding she told me to pay 40% before hand and the rest after so I did and I had to cancel 10 days before the wedding because my family got COVID now she won’t give me my money back and we didn’t have a contract and she didn’t tell me she would keep the money even if I canceled she didn’t inform about anything now she’s saying it’s my fault for not asking but there was no agreement on anything to begin with she took 980$ and she won’t give it back what do I dooo :(
